KI has gotta be my favorite fighter and imo one of the best designed. The system of Combo\Counter-breaking has gotta be the hypest fucking shit while also removing the whole "well, I got hit once so now I get to sit here for 10 seconds dying." issue so smoothly.
Makes every moment of the fight interesting for both players as it is always some form of mental work going on. Should I break. Should I contour break? Should I bait a shadow break? I WISH more games had options for defense like KI.
The fact that KI goes out of its way to not only fix the "sit there and get combo'd" problem but also add to the gameplay with combo and counter breakers on top of that is just... Really cool. Keeps you on your toes on top of being the hypest shit ever especially helped by the announcer just going HAM

I literally think you could package a new KI with new Xbox(exclusive packaging, etc.) And it would move units. The main reason I bought Xbox One originally was for this.
Once you learn about frame data: startup frames, active frames and recovery frames, it becomes a lot easier to improve. Execution of combos ect. is a matter of repetition.
It's trial and error, taking losses is part of the process. It's unfortunate but you only really see that once you've begun to plateau. Don't be so hard on yourself for decisions you make. Because you made them with good intentions. The key is to learn from the decisions you've made in the past. And...like everything ne else dust yourself off and get back on the horse. You'll see that even the "pros" sometimes take devestating losses. They hop back in. For the love of the game.
Imagine the combat of killer instinct as a gameplay mod for other fighting games, like Street fighter V or even skullgirls, would be interesting to see.

Yoo Max love fighting games I'm playing GGS rn but I think I'm getting worse overall so how do you get better? I don't really want to learn combos if I don't have a grasp on the fundamentals that lead into those...so how do you train?
Even though I don't care nearly enough about Killer Instinct to even contemplate playing it, I do enjoy watching Max play it. Still go back and watch some of the old "Week Of" videos, especially Hisako and Fulgore.
