Having it lay flat killed the usefulness of the aesthetic for me. It should be upright with all the plugs in the back or side. And I wouldn't mind paying more, but they really missed an opportunity by not having the 'display' be a simple LCD with system temps and usage on it. Or even a customizable graphic display like how some Mini PCs have.
I don't normally double back on a comment thread. But I saw that video of their NES inspired machine and it has an LCD on the top to display info!!! So they really could have done the same for this one! That is just so shortsighted.
Thanks for showing us that heatsink disaster zone. I'd fallen in love with the cute computer until that moment. I still kinda want it, but I'll let Ayaneo's nerds build it for me if I get it. Great review!
Another guy who reviewed it contacted Ayaneo and they said that the 4th screw its only in the review units, since they are older models, not the ones they are currently shipping!
Oh man..china is flooding the market with retro handhelds, mini pcs and similar stuff. Honestly, its overwhelming. Being new to this, spending hours and hours of reading, watching vids etc. I feel like just a wanna-be geek (or enthusiast) and sometimes too dumb to get it. But not giving up💪🏽 Love your videos as always TD❤️👌🏼
After you placed the sticker on it, I want to watch again the movie Electric Dreams. Such a nostalgia for it! Man...I really like your subtle humor injected in various parts of the review. So well done. Extra points for opening it. All the points you make I agree with, though obviously I don't have the system. Also missed opportunity not being able to have it vertically and able to use all the ports. I do wonder how well it would perform in video editing with that Vega 8. BTW, though I agree it's a pain to upgrade it or install RAM/SSD yourself, I do like how easy it is to access the fan and heatsink for cleaning and repasting. BUT yes having to repaste just so that you upgrade the RAM/SSD is a bit silly. Perhaps if they could make it open in both ways, that would be the best. I am tired seeing all those mini PC which makes it a real pain to cleaning the fan and replacing the paste. Great review!
Would be nice if you could 1) install Linux in it and test the performance on day to day use and gaming and 2) show the BIOS options? Didn't find a single RUclips or website showing it. Thanks!
Still weirded out by the fact that we can now complain about PS3 and Switch emulation being too slow. Still remember calling them "next-gen". How far we've come, and how old we've gotten...
Great video as usual😁👍 there is a mini PC that I actually have my eye on do you think you can do a review on it? it’s from Acemagic I forget what it’s fully named but it’s something tank 3 and it looks like a cube if you can do a review on that one that would be cool 🤩
If the screen wasn’t fake and it was portable I would have considered it. Just build a mini pc and stick it in a retro case if you want a mini retro pc.
TD, I was *shocked* to hear the word "gigabit" come out of your mouth. But I'm happy to hear any words coming out of your mouth, including the shocking ones. What's the pixel-art game at 8:39? I'm *pretty sure* I'm not missing an obvious caption this time around, but I might still be too out of it to see it.
I love the retro lounge music playing in the background, I almost pulled out my old smoking jacket to finish off the video. ......What the heck was the animal that you compared the size to!? Did aliens mate an earthen potato with one of their "benign", overweight spider viruses? I love the aesthetic of this, but my biggest gripe is the cost/performance. This thing is super cute but I can't justify that cost :(
@@TechDweebAh glad, someone shares my view. Do you have any computers especially in mind for when it's released -- something you're going to setup yourself?
@@AstroTechGuyIt certainly would, but I'm more interested in the official seal of approval version. Not that such a thing bothers me -- I'm happy to experiment with different OSes -- but I'm thinking more in a mass-deployment industry standard kind of way.

Well, I no longer have to write my opinion in a comment... ^This...
Indeed. What a weird decision. It should be a beemo mini-pc.
When will they listen…

Why not save that design for a Macintosh emulator? When I first saw the pic for this video, I thought that's what it is until I read "Mini PC".

Good to know, thanks!
Your explanation of what this is in the beginning is the sort of hard hitting journalism that keeps me coming back!
I think there's too much mini PCs in the market as of late, but man I like the style of this one. Awesome video as always my boi!
The mini arcade joke was great 🍀💨
I’m more interested in the ayaneo flip ds thing that the showed off in the concept video for this
The beauty of the original Macintosh, was the OS and screen. Not sure if this would really capture that old feel.

that HDMI cord spin on the finger was a thing of beauty!
Took me 3 hours to get that shot. Worth it
I got this device for $120! Using this unit with lossless scalling app gave it life! ❤
Very comprehensive! (and clarifying) Do you know if can handle faster than 60 Hz monitors? You know, for super smooth animations. Thx.
It definitely can. I had it on a 144hz monitor and it worked great.
Oh! Thank you. But worked at that high refresh? @@TechDweeb
Your videos are great, they are Informative and funny. Loved the Lego joke and ongoing use of terms like gigglebyte. 😅
Thanks buddy!
This is awesome! my only nitpick is that the connectors should have been on the back not on top.

6:59 that was epic 🤣

Yeah the design of this mini pc is awesome !

I'll see if they'll send me one!
Cool keyboard. Do you have a video where you show in detail the keyboard and the mouse?
That skate moment even though im amazing at the game 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💯🦾🦾
Hey TechDweeb whatever happened to testing that SD card with games and front-end on it, on the AOKZOE A1?
But is there a computer in the computer inside the computer?
Yes, but it's under the heat sink

That's fair. I'll watch my giggles more carefully.
That's BotVice. Yeah I probably should have put captions huh.
Would this be better than the SER5? As far as higher end emulation?
Definitely. The ser5 is a 5560U, and this is a 5700U, which is better.

That animal was a tardigrade (aka water bear) of colossal proportions.
I've been playing skate 3 since I was 7 on and off your gameplay disappoints me
lol
Don't be jealous
Dweeb, what’s that awesome NES-controller looking mouse?!
Oooo Lego buds! That was clever as all heck. lol
I love the intro music
Another amazing video
Compared to a Xbox Series S (same price range) the XSS so it a bit better no?
Looks more like an old label printer than a Mac imo
Any recommendation for a retro arcade controller panel for a mini pc with RetroArch?
I'll stick to my mid spec pc I think, thanks for sharing though dude 👍
Holy Santa sweat... it plays solitaire??? It does look kinda cool.
Untested but possible
My Windows on that thing was locked behind a password ... any8ne else has that problem?
I think products like these might make more sense when Steam OS is finally released as a standalone operating system, independent of the Deck.
Definitely
@@TechDweebAh glad, someone shares my view. Do you have any computers especially in mind for when it's released -- something you're going to setup yourself?
Give Holoiso a look. I think, that would be nice on this and similar systems.

"..to hold ..your ..Lego"
ahahahahahah :D
damn, i want that small thing that looks like an arcade machine... too bad i don't use... legos
ITS SO CUTE!!!! I WANA GUT IT AND UPGRADE IT! (sorry little one)
OMG TECH DWEEB HAD TO READ THE WORDS PAPER🤯🤯🤯
What has this world come to?
Given the form factor I expected a screen at least...
Yes, it is.
T.Dweeb has strong skeuomorphism game. That's what's up.
Oooooh you hide your grass in the arcade machine…. I got it. 🚬🚬🚬 Well I guess you don’t need to hide it anymore in Canada.🇨🇦
Add actual screen to it 😅
omg its so cute , And maybe little scary as well 🤣🤣🤣
Aloha.
Hi
"Sky Scream"
Lego huh? I'm not so sure about this. 🤔
It's bmo 😊
Can you play Roblox and Genshin?
Yeah you should have no problem with those titles.
@@TechDweeb Thank you very much!
They did quite a few things wrong on this one...
What I love about Tech Dweeb is how he lets us know of even obscure games like this Scry.ed thing or whatever, it sort of looks fun.
Hey, let’s give tech dweeb a round of applause for going through the entire video even tho he admitted he was scared 🎉
I like Legos too! HaHaHa!
Yes I the first to like and comment 🤙
Backstage pass 😎
@@TechDweeb it’s awesome man
This sux!! Silly stupid process to open up to upgrade.. pass!!
Looks cool but no thank u.
Love your channel man!
Easy pass
