What i don't really get about the SNES scaling is that we all used 4:3 TVs back in the day - that is, the "accurate" scaling would be to have non-square pixels on a 4:3 display, rather than a closer to square screen, no?
Those 4:3 sets were also analog cathode ray tube sets that worked fundamentally differently than modern liquid crystal displays or active matrix organic light emitting diode displays. Each pixel from the source signal didn't have to try to match up 1:1 with a pixel that the screen was capable of displaying like they do today. They all sort of smushed and blended into each other in a way that introduced plenty of its own artifacts, but not the same kind of artifacts you get from improperly scaling a digital signal. If you've got a lot of pixel density to work with and/or a lot of processing power to apply shader effects, you can try to replicate that analog look to greater or lesser success, but when you're dealing with a cheap LCD screen and just enough processing power to do the basic emulation work but not much more, integer scaling and native aspect ratio is the way, because you're getting big chunky pixels either way, but at least they're ACCURATE big chunky pixels.
@christianhaines9150 It is so small I can take it with me everywhere. My hands are more likely to cramp on the bigger MM+ for some strange reason. I can play certain games one handed. I stuck with anbernic so I didn't have to mess around between different systems and SDs all the time. One ROM SD to rule them all, well, all 3. I've barely used the 505v as it lacks portability, the bittboy just sits there looking pretty
Is Pocket DMG 8G +128G good enough to run switch games?
Lots will run fine, but the higher end switch games will need more RAM.
@@TechDweeb Thank you. I will get the one with the higher RAM.
The advancement of these handheld devices have been impressive! Soon we will have videos of "retro" retro handhelds
Might be a dumb question but does the retroid pocket 5 have any of the old pokemon games
Nope. This doesn't come with games. Have to add them yourself.
@ do you have a tutorial up on how to do it and thanks for responding new to these hand helds
Just a question. Having multiple consoles with different OS that could run the same system. Is there a way for save files and progress to be synched to all of these devices?
My favourite (and therefore the ones I own) are:
- My top favourite is my lovely RGV10 from Powkiddy. That is my personal techdweeb miyo mini. Lives in my pocket all day everyday.
- The RGB30 Powkiddy
- The Flipzizzle
- The Zazzbiggle
And my Switch LOL
