I've been a big fan since the beginning. I'm 64 yrs old & have been playing bass since the late 70s. In 2010 I had the honor of being in a band that opened for Kiss. After opening for a lot of big acts I was to say the least nervous. I figured it was going to be a long day. We arrived at the venue & hooked up with their road manager. He was great gave us our passes plus front row tickets. He said park your truck by the stage their crew will take care of your gear. Oh you have your own dressing room, we're feeding you & you have your own soundcheck..wtf... talking to them afterwards & manager Doc McGee they we're all great. Lifetime memory.
I remember in 1978 my dad took me to see KISS at the Providence Civic Center. The first song I Stole Your Love had explosions and I was frozen with awe. The final song Black Diamond rocked the house! It was the greatest night of my life. Now my grandchildren are fans as well. KISS will never fade away. Now I am 57 and somewhat elderly and I will never forget that night.
I was also at this show, my boyfriend too though we obviously didn't know each other yet. I had the newspaper ad for the Feb. 2 & Feb. 3 shows blown up and framed. Frank J Russo Presents! lol That concert made me a forever fan. Blew me away.
Growing up with KISS in the late 70's was an amazing experience that can never be repeated. People have no idea what it felt like to read stories in the paper the Gene was photographed without his makeup. We'd all get so excited because back then NOBODY knew what they looked like. It was a huge secret and everyone was always trying to snap photos of them "unmasked".. Plus, it wasn't "cool" to like KISS back then either. They had their fans like me, but we were often not the popular kids in school. So it really created a special place in our hearts to be able to share the love of Rock and Roll with KISS and watch their adventures and listen to their rock and roll. I was able to start going to concerts in the early 80's and got to see KISS many times without the original members and without makeup. The day they announced they were touring not only with ACE and PETER, but in FULL MAKE UP was incredible. I don't think I've ever been that excited to see a concert, from anyone, ever. 1996 was the year, and it was the best KISS concert I've ever seen. I stayed with the band even after Peter and Ace were gone, and even attended many of the "final" tours over the last twenty five years. Great band, great fun, Great memories.
mg this is so true to read hit parade or circus or even 16 magazine and see that a member was photographed and you will have long debates about which member we thaught it was
Amen! Committing to liking KISS came with people thinking you were weird. I never forget taking my grandfather downstairs and showing him my records and he came upstairs and said I am worried about David, those guys really strange. And let's face it, lots of girls were not really into them. So to say you were a fan came like a doubly edged sord. But man was it cool way ahead of it's time. I was born in 67 so by the time I was 7 was listening to them and they hit there peak in what 77-78. Look how long that lasted even without Ace and Peter, it's truly amazing.
Loved them as a kid in the 70's/80's. Would play their albums & cassettes, over & over. Ace was my favourite. But I loved them all. Thank you Gene, Paul, Ace & Peter. I will be a fan forever. ❤️
Truly amazing stuff! It is exactly as Paul said: I saw KISS three weeks ago in Vancouver, the first time since the Destroyer tour in 1976. Both experiences were unforgettable. I am 65 years old, and hope that KISS continues in some form or another. God bless you guys!
I'm only 18- but my father (63) raised me on KISS. I waited all my life to see them on tour and finally did it in Nashville for end of the road. I might have been one of the youngest there- but I was one of the most thankful. KISS will live on forever!
That's awesome! My first concert was KISS in 1979 when I was 12 (my parents took my younger brother & I to see them on a Sun. night / school night after we begged them to go). I've seen them many times since, and met some of them, too. I'm so glad you got to see them!
That's great for you young man, but I hate to burst your bubble, but you seen impostors, not Peter and Ace real legends!!!! Sorry, to break the news 😅!!!!!
Amazing you love KISS and not rap ? It's more your generation ? 😃 Well, Young man, I'm as old as your father and I know and love KISS since the beginning ... With my old vinyls oh ! My God ! I'm old 😁 greetings from France 🇫🇷
Gene / Paul / Ace / Peter - These guys have been with me my whole life. Forever in my heart from beginning to end. Thank you for the high and the feeling of youth that you gave me.
In 1976 a 12 year old kid fell in love with the band, in 2019 a 55 year old cried at his last Kiss show in Philadelphia and on Dec 2nd 2023 at 59 years old, I cried again knowing the last show was over. This looks incredible and I looking forward to seeing whats next. THANK YOU FOR MAKING ME FEEL LIKE A 12 YEAR OLD AGAIN !!!
At 52 years old KISS has been part of my life since around 1975. Thank you for all the great years and thank you for recognizing Ace and Peter. Such respect!
KISS was the band that changed my life, identified me and gave me something I never knew existed. My father showed me KISS when I was very young and we would sing songs in the car, talk about going to shows, watch videos and everything but he unfortunately passed away when i was 7 in 2008 and I never got to see KISS with him. But a couple months later, my mom got me tickets for my first concert ever and it was the KISS Alive 35 tour in Philadelphia Best experience of my life and I owe so much to this band. Thank you boys.
I'm so proud to see KISS in my lifetime. it's a shame that all good things must come to an end. And sadly, nothing lasts forever. But i would love to see a new generation. take over the KISS tradition. i would love to thank Gene and Paul for their hard work and dedication to the band as well as fans because without them there would be no KISS. i can't wait to see what happens in the future. but all i can say is THANK YOU GENE AND PAUL! KISS ARMY FOREVER!!!
I can’t say how happy i am that Gene recognizes Ace and Peter, they absolutely deserve their flowers. I just wish that they would’ve been recognized at the actual last show
That line..." we couldn't have gotten the rest of the way with them." was a real dig. Paul and Gene already had a relationship and eventually used that against Ace and Peter. They didn't want to share. I also think they were jealous of particularly Ace because he made everyone laugh. I'm a big Rush fan and early on Rush toured a lot with Kiss stating that Ace was a blast to be around and Gene was always too serious. Ace's solo album was the best. Ace wrote some of their best songs, how many great songs has Tommy Thayer written? I balk at the whole thing. They are not Kiss without Ace and Peter; which is why I lost interest a long time ago. Their days without makeup made them uninteresting and no longer unique. As I see it, once someone else put Ace and Peter's makeup on, that absolutely killed Kiss for me. I've had plenty of opportunities to see them with the other guys, but I promised I wouldn't spend a dime on them without Ace and Peter. I started listening to them in 5th grade around '75 -'76, that was Kiss, not this over-hyped stuff. Just my opinion. Sorry if you don't like it or disagree.
@@jmhatutube Agree with you 100%. And what Paul and Gene forgets when they say "couldn't have continued with them". Without Ace and Peter, Kiss wouldn't have existed, so the "couldn't have continued with them" is BS - there would be none.
@@jmhatutubeI fully agree. Besides, you mentioned Rush, of which I like. Rush retired with class and dignity. It would have been nice if these guys would have chosen that route. Of course that would have to had been around 2001 with the original Farewell Tour. But the temptation for more fortune at the expense of their legacy was too too great!!
Goodbye Kiss. Loved them in my teen years, had so many magazines, made heaps of scrapbooks, devoured every vinyl album daily, wrote out all their songs, dressed like them, had little concerts with my friends, saw them live.... they were my teenage heroes. Amazing they lasted this long.
The soundtrack of my youth, forever grateful for KISS, tears of joy. Thank you for years and years of loving your fans. You wanted the best you got the best, the hottest band in the world KISS!
Dude they are not going away. They just joined the singularity 😊 They can be everywhere and anywhere now. My bet is they will appear in the MCU. That first KISS comic is iconic. Avatar Stan Lee meets avatar KISS. 💋 “Make it SO!”
My 8 year old and my husband were really looking forward to their show in Knoxville and it was cancelled. It broke my heart and theirs so this will be the next best thing so we can enjoy KISS as a family.
I grew up with these guys. Through the good , bad, and indifferent, I have remained a KISS fan. This new experience definitely is something I would enjoy.😊
I LOVE KISS! Their music, and fantasy personas, have gotten countless of fans through thick and thin times, and their music was fun and well crafted from the get go. The fans knew they had latched on to something special, when despite the detractors, they could go home, put on their favorite KISS album, and be transported to a magical musical realm that was so straightforward, heartfelt, and pure! I lived in Northern New Jersey at the time, and KISS caught on quickly. I will never forget when my cousin's wife, from Washington Heights (where Paul went to High School), casually said to me during a Thanksgiving dinner, that she went to school with Paul Stanley, and that she had a picture of him in her yearbook, without makeup! I nearly lost it, and incessantly begged her to borrow the copy. I brought it to my High School and was mobbed with KISS fans dying to see what Paul Stanley (Stanley Eisen) looked like without the makeup! I caused such a ruckus, that the school Principal sent me home that day, and demanded I never bring that yearbook to school ever again! True story!
Nice, now let's get to reality!!! If it wasn't for Peter and Ace, these two delusional greedy assholes would still be living in a scumbag apartment playing with Wicked fuckin Lester people!!! Team Peter and Ace always
That song at the end fits so well like it says what the band is over the years being iconic and memorable I'm too young but I like this band they will rock forever
I LOVE KISS!!! Been a fan since I was 12 in 1974 and never looked back. This whole new digital thing is very exciting. Gentlemen thank you for a lifetime of awesome Rock n' Roll!!!
Well said! I am 65 years old and have had the very same experience. Without being overly dramatic, growing up would not have been the same without KISS. Long may they continue!
Man I agree with you so much. Would not have been the same. I dare say my life was positively impacted by some great bands but KISS was unique and I have them at the top of my list in that respect. Merry Christmas brother.@@edteach3r
Im lucky. I saw them 31 times. All line ups. They are by far my favorite band. Thank you guys for all the great music. Whenever im a bit depressed i listen to you guys and it lifts me right up. God bless
This give me thrills and chills, make KISS inmortal!! Those guy are my favorite band and it will ever be. As a Paul said it is the joy that their music and everything around KISS bring to their fans. Genius!!
So proud to say I love KISS. Purchased the albums of KISS from their first to Lovegun. Spit fire like Gene, but with charcoal lighter fluid. Dressed as Peter on Halloween. Recreated shows complete with vocals , airguitar and fireworks. And saw my heros twice...at Chicago Stadium in 1977 w/Rocket and Crandon Wisconsin, 2023!
I can’t be happier that I attended your last concert, after watching this interview I cried at the end, it’s so sad that you are leaving, but we understand that rest is also needed, we adore you, thank you for everything
KISS got me through some rough times growing up. My friends and I used their music and personas as energy to fend off all the negative sh*t that was going on around us. Saw them for the first time in 1978 and to this day it's the most amazing memory I have from my teenage years (aside from the first time doing you know what, of course.) God bless Gene, Paul, Ace, & Peter for giving us KISS and all that came with it!
Yes, KISS invented concert as a entertainment..adventure..circus. The FIRST who set costumes as a seal-sign for a band. And finally masks, make-up made them the same for decades..forever young..iconic. No other band pushed the limit..so many limits so far as they did. Unique..the ONE AND ONLY. Yes, THE HOTTEST BAND IN THE WORLD.
@@MJForever1999yes and they did it better, but they didn't do it like KISS. KISS turned the band into a commercial empire. Hell I'll go out and say that KISS could keep playing for 50 more years with all new members in the costumes and no one would care.
@@MJForever1999thank YOU! I was just about to go off on the guy but you saved me by exactly 12 min!! We love all three and THEIR influences!! But as we/I recently followed 50th anniversaries from Alice/KISS! Ace's MOLINO acetate to Wicked Lester to 1st Canterbury show! Loft demo and everything else!! Alice Cooper 1972!!! Alice was solidly just ahead of KISS in a big way!
ABBA did this concept (the "immortal" band) before KISS, they do deserve credit for being the first one to do it on a large level. However I am wondering how they'll get this film out to the public.
Well. KISS (Gene & Paul) are good business men 😊 but good musicians too, and KISS is a great band for such a long Time that WE Can understand why they still here (except for the good music !? 🎵🎶). Soon, by 2027, they will have their avatar on stage : _in a recent interview with Billboard's Behind The Setlist podcast, iconic Kiss guitarist and vocalist Paul Stanley discussed the band's upcoming avatar show. This project, developed in collaboration with Pophouse Entertainment, the Swedish company behind the ABBA Voyage show, aims to revolutionize the virtual concert experience. According to Stanley, this future show will go far beyond what anyone has previously imagined_ ! 👍
Only the bands that treat it like a business seem to survive. Iron Maiden is another example. Iron Maiden is t-shirt vendor and their music is their advertising. 😂 But no seriously, Iron Maiden also treats it like a business and they are still rocking.
Awesome!!! 50 year fan here. I bought anything and everything that was KISS. I dreamed about being them. They were my heroes and because of them, I pursued a music career. They are still my heroes today. God bless them all.
Devoted and passionate KISS fan here since 1979 at age 9. Got all of their vinyls, videotapes, CD's and DVD's, plus lots of official KISS merchandise of all kinds. 44 years of KISSteria! Most magical rock band in history... I mean, in KISStory.
I've seen KISS concert twice in my life. I love the music, the costumes, and face paint. They created this famous Rock N Roll band back in the 70s and I wish I was born in the 70s or early 80s to live through the old school Rock N Roll music, those are the music that are the best and classic. I love all songs but my favorite from KISS is Rock N Roll All Nite, Love Gun, Lick It Up, Psycho Circus, I Was Made For Lovin You, Detroit Rock City, Deuce, God Of Thunder, 100,000 Years, Shout It Loud, War Machine, I Love It Loud, Calling Dr. Love, Black Diamond, and Do You Love Me. That's why I love good ol classic Rock N Roll from the 70s and 80s. Thank You KISS for bringing the best and hottest music of Rock N Roll #KISS #ROCKNROLLFOREVER #LONGLIVEROCKNROLL
I haven't stopped crying yet... HAPPY Tears Are Falling 😊 KISS INSPIRES ME to keep on going and to not give up. The POSITIVE ENERGY and ROCK AND ROLL BEAT makes me wanna dance and sing. I saw you in 1983 in Portland, Maine. LOVE TO KISS FOREVER!! 💛🧡💚 🙏💪✌️🫶🤙
The hard and smart work pays off, they have deserved this so much, KISS is not only a music story but also a good example for generations to become successful and find joy in their works.
My 17th and last KISS show was in Detroit on Oct. 20, 2023. The first time I had left a KISS show feeling partially sad. I was also thankful for the memories. As I was on my way out, Doc McGhee was on the floor and I got to thank him personally for decades of entertainment that he had organized. He was so kind, let me get a pic with him and his classic pose of a big smile and pointing at me like I was the "big deal", not himself. He was cool, it made me feel a little more content leaving a KISS show for the last time. God Bless Doc!!
I am in a Kiss tribute band, and i am 60 yrs old. I remember when i was 12 years old sitting in my living room begging my mother to let me use her record player console to listen to my KIss Alive 1 album. It was the greatest music i had ever heard. The costumes were a bonus. If someone had told me then that i would be 60 yrs old and playing in a real band playing KIss songs I would have said not a chance. I realized that the other day, and thought to myself that Kiss has been in my life since i was 12 years old. Thank you to all members of KIss for the Rock and Roll Ride of a life time. Now with new Technology you will never go away. Amazing just Amazing.
Simply AMAZING! Ever since that first time seeing the costumes & watching them in my early youth back in the late 70s & now some 4 1/2 decades later, this is truly impressive. 🍻🙏🏼🍻
My first song I was introduced to by KISS 💋 was “ COLD GIN” and I’ve been a FAN ever since!!!! Kudos to KISS Family and Friends and Fans around the world 🌎!!!! 🙏🌎✊🏿🥁🇺🇸
As someone who was never able to see kiss live, this on one hand makes me really happy because the joy this band brings people (especially live) can go on eternally but is also incredibly hurtful because I and I’m sure many other people would’ve loved to see these guys live in person on stage
Thank you for making my childhood Kiss. I had the honor to see yall live twice. Best shows I have ever been too. I wish I had seen yall live again but I missed the show. Thank you all for the amazing memories. #KISSARMY

I love this interview! I’m sad the one chapter has ended (a fan since the 70s) but excited about the next chapter. I know what ILM has done with ABBA; this is going to be better than that! (And that was mind-blowing!) Yay for the past; yay for the future! 🤟🏼❤ KISS!!!
Been a fan since day one and my first KISS concert was at Gröna Lund in Stockholm, Sweden, way back in 1976. I also attended the concert at Eriksdalshallen 1980 when Iron Maiden was the supporting act. I was given a blue towel (with which Gene wiped off the "blood" during a song) by the Demon himself. Long Live KISS - the best band in the universe. ❤
For me this complete the circle. Growing up in Sweden as a Kiss fan, the band was mythical, almost not for real. Everything from America seemed like a dream and magical. But Kiss was really something else. Now watching a Swedish company making them immortal and making it possible for the show to go on forever just make me so happy and proud. With this it’s possible to take my youngest child (4yo)to a live Kiss concert and share the moment with him in the future! ❤
i felt the same comming from an island in the caribbean it was unthinkable that a young black west indian boy would love kiss and it seemed that they were just stuff of legandand never thaught i would be able to see a concert on video let alone an interview like this one all we need now is a kiss origin movie like the dirt

When I was a teenager we saw KISS, then when our daughter was born, we took her when she was about 10, it was her first concert. I have and will always love KISS…they were the soundtrack of my life.
It has been a fun ride. My first time seeing KISS was in June of 1974 in the old Massey Hall in Toronto. KISS was opening for The New York Dolls. KISS returned to Toronto in September of 1974 and headlined at the Victory Theater, with RUSH as an opening act. Cheers.
I'm a little dissapointed that the End of the Road Tour never made a stop in Denver. But it will never waiver my feelings towards the band. I will always love Kiss. The band, the music, the personas..all of it. Im a musician because of Kiss. I am who I am with the help of Kiss. I tip my hat to all of the guys for a job well done. Kiss Army will live forever.😎🤘🎶
Still remember when me and my friend, we were 7 years old boys, in the 70th....hearing the first song of KISS for the firs time- We hided the cassette tape for our parents, because it was to hot music for them... To dangerous and hot. We went up in the attic room, pushed in the cassette in a small cassette player... and that little speaker screamed Shout it Out Loud...Oh man... We were stunned. It was the best and hardest music we ever heard. Then we listen to that album Destroyer over and over again, then many years later we saved enough cash to buy the records... Gene, Paul, Ace and Peter- thanks for all that years you gave us. Still amazed when play these records. Hotter than Hell, Love gun, Rock n Roll Over...Destroyer.....and the solo albums...Thank you so much!
I was fortunate to have been at both nights at MSG. Being an original artist you are the reason I wanted to be a musician. That being said as much as I want to think Im "original" there is no doubt that a little of your influence is in every song I've written. Thank you for the ride.

I was also at this show, my boyfriend too though we obviously didn't know each other yet. I had the newspaper ad for the Feb. 2 & Feb. 3 shows blown up and framed. Frank J Russo Presents! lol That concert made me a forever fan. Blew me away.
Thanks for giving Frank some props. I miss the days of holding a concert ticket that says Frank J Russo Proudly Presents.@@she31462
That’s insane, wish I born back then. Literally the 60s - 90s were golden era of everything, what a time to be alive.
In 1996 we left the concert half-way because of the trashed playing. It was embarrassing to watch, so we left.
mg this is so true to read hit parade or circus or even 16 magazine and see that a member was photographed and you will have long debates about which member we thaught it was
Paul, Gene, Ace, Peter, Eric C. Vinnie, Mark, Bruce, Eric S, Tommy.
THANK YOU!!
I love them all.
Team Peter and Ace always!!!! Respect the rest of them, and that's that!!@ Rip 🙌 🙏 Eric Carr!!@!
Thank you for everything KISS!!! You were my first concert and my most recent concert. Both shows were awesome!!!
Loved them as a kid in the 70's/80's. Would play their albums & cassettes, over & over. Ace was my favourite. But I loved them all. Thank you Gene, Paul, Ace & Peter. I will be a fan forever. ❤️
I'm 51, a KISS fan since I was four years old. Paul and Gene are so right when they say that the fans are a tribe. WE ARE THE KISS ARMY!

Some, to me we are team Peter and Ace!!!! Piss on Stanley and Gene
Kewl story bro, but we don't believe you
Amazing you love KISS and not rap ?
I bet you cried at their "final" shows in the 90s and 2000s too 😅

Hi! I'm Brazilian and December 2nd was my birthday and I went to New York to see the last concert. It was the best birthday EVER! Thank you Kiss!
como aguentaste ficar uns dias sem comer feijão com arroz?
KISS one of the best rock groups in the world... long live rock... 🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼
I just wish that they would’ve been recognized at the actual last show
didn't you hear the bashing of them right afterwards?
@@jmhatutubeI agree. No Ace or Peter, no Kiss.
The Yankees and KISS were everything to me as a kid. I haven't seen a Yankee game in 30 years. I saw KISS two nights ago. The best.
Nice.
KISS is Legendary. Kiss produce great music and energy, so I can empower myself usually when I feel down
Original lineup only!!! Peter and Ace, Paul and Gene are legendary!!!! Enough said
You two are the strongest spirits of Kiss the original.the faces you chose are Eternal to the Earth.
My life was better with KISS. Thank you for your energy and life force. My favorite band forever.
True story!
Awesome!
Fantastic story!! Thanks for sharing it!

Both Alice Cooper and Black Sabbath did it before KISS
@@MJForever1999Facts!!!❤
@@MJForever1999yes and they did it better, but they didn't do it like KISS. KISS turned the band into a commercial empire. Hell I'll go out and say that KISS could keep playing for 50 more years with all new members in the costumes and no one would care.

ABBA did this concept (the "immortal" band) before KISS, they do deserve credit for being the first one to do it on a large level. However I am wondering how they'll get this film out to the public.
people complain about KISS and their marketing, but for fans, it is the marketing that lets each fan be a part of KISS
Marketing is different than impostors!!! This is disgusting and ridiculous and pathetic!!! Team Peter and Ace always
I just ran into this by accident.... wow... Thank you , devine power. I was singing to Kiss back in 1977..... and now this. Awesome

Ok, so Ace had the original idea for the Kiss logo, Paul make it uneven. I understand now.
Actually Ace drew it uneven as well. Paul always has to take ownership of other's ideas.
Exactly, Paul thinks he could have just played all 4 instruments and parts, and been bigger than Peter, Ace, and Gene!!!
The man, is an absolute scumbag!!!!
uneven?
Actually, the Nazi party designed the logo before Ace.
Ace did nothing original to “steal.”
