Hi Erika, I watched almost all of your videos, you inspired me to start my candle business, I'm trying with soy wax, but it looks like a small volcano, with cracks, eruptions and whitish. (i saw candlescience said that is normal, but customers dont want that). I know that our supplier is not the same, I'm in brazil, but I've tried: (with 10%, with 20 and even 30% of coconut oil) and without oil, put it in the warm jar. Nothing works, have you had this problem? Do you have any ideas for me to try? Thank you

Hi honey. First of all, I want to thank you for wanting to share the information! Now, please, don't take this badly, but to grow. I didn't get a quarter of the info I was looking for in this video.
    - "Ask the supplier". That's something I am going to do anyway. The purpose of watching a video of a producer, is that they have no incentive to lie in order to earn their sales comission before they change to the next job.
People who open a video with a title like this, are probably expecting to know:
    - All possible type of waxes
    - Is this or that type of wax toxic? Is it more stable?
    - "There are prons and cons to each." Aha, I can imagine. I am expecting to learn what they are. At least name them so I go through more content.
    - "There is a problem with frosting and there are methods to avoid that. Here's one, but it gives you this even worse problem. And I don't mind it. " You didn't solve my problem. I keep not knowing why that could happen. How about the other methods?
    - "There is unevenness. I don't know why it happens, but it doesn't bother me". Same as the one above.
Forgive me for being harsh. But most people don't have all the time in the world, and for that same reason, I don't think I'd do you any good if I just simply say nothing and start skipping your tutorials altogether.

Join the FB group “diy candle making beginner to advanced” and learn about different waxes that people like (that’s how I learned)
You could try GB 464, C3, IGI 6006, Coconut 83, Coco Apricot Creme, Beeswax, etc.
There’s soo many waxes to choose from, and one wax many not work for everyone. That’s why I always recommend doing as much research as possible to see which kind of wax would be best for you to try out! 🙂

Hi! I am a new subscriber. I just started candle making a month ago and started with paraffin that came in my Lone Star kit I received as a gift. I want to stick with paraffin until I get a handle on this candle and wax melt making. If you have ever tried paraffin, it says the max load of fragrance oil for my particular wax is 10%. Do you stick with that for paraffin for container candles or go higher? I like a really strong HT. Also, why do you have to use so much FO with wax melts? Seems like 14% is a lot per pound. Thank you!

    • @MemoryBoxCandleCo
      @MemoryBoxCandleCo  4 года назад +1

      Hi!
I have never had experience working with paraffin, however I always recommend to follow the suppliers recommenced temperatures and FO max load. I would still with 10%! You might be able to do around 11-12% but I would test it to make sure you don’t get any FO trying to sweat out.
Tart wax is formulated to be able to hold a higher fragrance load, it’s just how the wax is made :) my tart wax is able to hold up to 18% FL, however I only do about 15%

Soy 10 and California candle supply :)
But it’s sold out right now 😣
I’ve also heard coconut83, coco apricot, and IGI 6006 are all good waxes !

Sounds like there isn’t a demand for it.I actually found out bout candle shack although it’s in the uk they offer such a variety. I myself am making them for personal use and family only.

Saying its 100% soy and then saying there are additives? It cant be both. If you are marketing your candle as 100% soy it should actually be 100% soy.
