OCTOBER UPDATE: Viz Media will start their translation of Steel Ball Run in Summer 2025. The Digital Version of Stone Ocean on the Shonen Jump app is expected to be completed on December 17, 2024, with the ninth and final hardcover being released on March 25, 2025.
@@T1DK I’ve heard 2025 would be the year, that makes ot even possible Volume 1 will come here before Episode 1 of the David Pro anime does. Although the marketing might be already starting up by then.
@@T1DKif they keep going at this pace ande take a 3 month break as they've done before then we're most likely getting part 7 in june of next year. We could get it in May if they also acelerate the wait.
You know, here in Spain, we are already at the end of part 7 publication, although it took us 6 years to reach here, considering Jojo's in Spain started its manga publication in 2017.
Dang that's a lot further ahead than the English release haha. It seems like other languages are a lot further ahead as well ex. French. Thanks for watching.
I was wondering for a while why it was so slow. The french version is at its last 2 mangas for Jojolion, so its almost fully catch up to the japanese release. I find it unfortunate that the english version is not closer.
France is the 2nd biggest market for manga and anime outside of Japan. Back in 1987 they had Club Dorothée, a tv network on channel 1, where they showed anime and basically it all grew exponentially from there. The U.S. didn’t start putting anime on tv until the late 90’s but even then it wasn’t on channels 1 so anime never got as popular as it did over in France.
@@vigokovacic3488i think that’s meant to mean 4 volumes a year??? it would be more accurate to say bimonthly i think, which means every two months a volume is released

It's very true that I collect the Indonesian version of Jojo and in Indonesia itself it was released a long time ago and in Indonesia itself it is now up to part 3, Stardust Crusader.
In Mexico we have panini, a publishee company, and they are currently releasing in a monthly basis and they are in around the first third of the Steel Ball Run arc
Here in Italy we have the full manga. Like we're done with part 8 too. Though it is important to mention that Star Comic's current Italian release of the manga started in 2009.
First off, this is a very interesting and informative video. I had seen something about the current rate of release, but not any explanation for it. On the other end of this the anime for SBR not only isn't confirmed, the lead producer and David productions have never said anything about going any further than part 6. Considering the animation difficulties the story provides it wouldn't surprise me if we didn't see anything about a SBR anime for a long time, if at all. Even with the provided expected release schedule we might still see the official English manga before any anime news.

NOTIFICATION SQUAD: I wanted to mention that some new information has come out since this video was recorded. In an updated interview with ICV2. When asked about how the supply chain has improved Kevin Hamric stated “... I would say just probably late October, early November (of 2022) is when I started feeling comfortable about everything again. Now, we're back to pre‑pandemic time frames in getting books reprinted.” With this improvement to the supply chain and many chapters already being translated/lettered. We'll just have to wait and see if Viz is going to start releasing Stone Ocean faster than earlier parts of the series. When Volume 2 goes up for pre-orders later this year. I am german and as I know there are only a few German translations, meaning I am bound to the English language, feeling the predicament the English Speakers are currently in. I would want to own a physical copy of Steel Ball Run, JoJolion, Stone Ocean etc
This a very informative video. So these new HC versions are basically the old original releases with edits by Araki and new cover art and some color work. So the later volumes are now catching up the way the series is being released. It seemed confusing at first, but with videos like these can help libraries who are cataloging these books get an idea on why the issues were published the way they were.
ay man to be honest, This series has done a lot of amazing things for me and has brought so many heartwarming memories over the years. Patience is a small price to pay for such a wonderful series B)👍

I bought 1/2 of french edition of Stone Ocean and Im going to buy the second half soon. Does anyone happen to know how accurate that translation is? There are a few hiccups that Ive seen. Its not necessarily a "wrong translation" more so a nitpick. Any semblance of japanese words such as "yare yare daze/dawa" arent used and are either replaced with a new script, or replaced with "oh là là" which actually is a pretty good translation. For example: against Guess, she says "You've got a point... Guess... when you said everything should have a name." When it should be: "Yare yare dawa... Guess. You said everything should have a name, right?" I just started re- reading part 6 (this time in french) and I'm living for the lack of censorship so far. All the stand names and users have not been altered and the swearing is full force. Even the english has been left alone. So idk why "yare yare" hasn't been left alone!! I'm only on volume 2, but still haha. I checked the fight with F.F and she says "oh là là" (pretty much equal to give me a break or yare yare dawa) there and I love that. Edit: Jotaro says "Pfft..." instead of yare yare during the johnghali a fight. The sentiment is the same as yare yare daze, so Im not too mad about it... but I really want a yare yare here or there haha

It baffles me that shuueisha actually listened to the fatwa committee considering that half of the time they don't know what they're talking about. For example, two years ago they announced that Fortnite was Haram because a creative map not made by epic featured the kaaba and thought that the objective was to destroy it. Also what does DIO reading the Quran while announcing that he will kill jotaro have anything to do with him depicting Muslims as terrorists
JoJo's colored digital version is so popular among fans so maybe this is reason why JoJo manga not selling really well. After all paperback/hardcover volumes black and white.
