I've been listening to Volbeat for 10 yrs. I'm 63 and from the middle of Kansas U.S.A. I've seen 3 American tours and next to Metallica, they are my favorite metal band.

I discovered A Gardens Tale years ago before Still Counting catapulted then. Gardens Tale will be played at my wedding if I ever get married. They wrote a song called Thanks also that is thanking the fans in song form. This band loves their fans
II just discovered Volbeat a year and a half ago, and I was like What the Hell??? How are they THIS good, and I never heard them before?? And I agree totally,, I'm 52, a d you have to keep looking for new bands, cause you never know what will grab you

That's from the Wacken Open Air festival 2017. Wacken has to be experienced to be believed, and Volbeat are a phenomenal band.
Volbeat is one of my favorite bands and Still counting is one of my favorite songs. I am from Denmark as are Volbeat and I have been a fan since 2007-ish (The old MySpace days - back then I told Michael Poulsen (the singer) that they have potential to become Metallica big. That they are too big for little Denmark - a few years later the did the warm-up for Metallica.
Germany has Wacken.
Denmark has Copenhell.
You sohuld find a live version of Devils Bleeding Crown, also Volbeat. That one really kick's ass.
Fun fact: their first video is a cover of Samantha Fox' I Only Wanna Be With You. And they nailed it.
Btw. I heard a story once, that when Metallica toured in Denmark for about 20 years ago, Hetfield crashed a night or 2 at Michael Poulsen home. Shortly after that, Volbeat was named as a supporting band for a Metallica tour in the US and in Canada.
Ayy, I'm danish and didn't expect to see Volbeat here so soon even, very cool! They are a danish metal band with a lot of radioplay especially here in denmark, which is unique for metal and especially danish metal. Many love them including me. Hope you enjoy Nick, they got some good songs and I madly respect the lead singer Michael Poulsen, he's been in other heavier metal stuff earlier and I think he's talented.

I'm in the US and have been a fan for many years. Great band and they also put on a great show. I saw them live in 2019

These guys are so underrated! I've been listening to them for years and they are so good. Going to see them live is on my bucket list! Michael's voice is recognizable anywhere! They are known for their "Rockabilly" sound. That is what they called it in an interview and when you hear more of their stuff, you will understand. Johnny Cash is a big influence to them. Doc Holiday, Warrior's Call and Lola Montez should get you started with becoming a fan.
A bigger influence for Michael is his love for Elvis 🙂❤
Wacken is in Germany, but Volbeat are from Denmark. Their sound of metal is heavily influenced by rockabilly, Elvis, Johnny Cash, and and more.
The singer has such a unique voice. Quite beautiful actually

VOLBEAT!! is a great Danish band, funny thing, back in the days, i did have some beer with Michael Poulsen (front singer) and went to a casino with him, as he and my old work buddy, is old scholl pals, and i can only say Michael is a funny, cool guy..

I saw them on their first gig in Uk at the Roundhouse in London ,they were Awesomely Awesome 💖😎💖 Since then they have exploded in fame phenomenally..all power to Volbeat 👏👏👏😎💖

I think you were the one that also had the best interpretation of "Shotgun Blues" out there (pssss.... it's about suicide, but the band will never admit to that). This interpretation you are pretty spot on too.

Volbeat just has something special.
It's metal, but still melodic and not so much yelling and screaming.
Their texts aren't about misery, death and destruction.
So they've become rather mainstream here in DK. It's not a small niche thing, like some other metal bands.
A little tidbit is that the lead singer himself is an outspoken Elvis fan, so it's no coincidence when he sings the way he does.
How can you NOT have heard og Volbeat and Metal Elvis 😂

Volbeat is great BUT..Metallica and spice Terminator etc. the songs can be pretty easy to come up with as a Volbeat songwriter at early stage!

Nice song. But weird for a closer IMO. I was expecting something to be unleashed. Craziness. In the vein of Metallica Moscow. Or any Baby Metal show. Instead, I mainly caught a low-key reggae groove. Then slightly amped up with an everyday metal riff at the end. Was that just me?
