Presenting a new beginning, forever you and I, and when the morning gets lonely and life is out of sight, then we'll be leaving together you and I...... (That's the chorus)

      Yeah, that’s their official translation.
      The direct translation is:
      For ever, maybe for ever.
Shall we together walk the same path.
And when tomorrow opens it’s eyes and the night lays to rest.
Shall we, maybe forever, walk the same path.
Not to be “that guy” 😊

A big part of why Johan Olsen is singing on this record, is because the song Gardens Tale that gave Volbeat their big break in Denmark and was blasted on all radio stations, was made in colaboration with Magtens Korridorer were Johan is the lead singer. years later when volbaet had been around the world, they then recorded For evigt with Johan to pay back the favor (i guess).

Great seeing you reacting to a Danish band. There are lots of "hidden" gems in Danish music (hidden since they don't get as much attention internationally):
Alex Vargas - f.ex. “Shackled up”, “Solid ground” or “Higher love”. Or the amazing cover of “Police bells & Church Sirens” from the danish tv-show “Toppen af Poppen”. Since you like Jonah Nilssons voice I think you'll enjoy him (though he is very different at the same time)! :-)
Car Park North f.ex. “Transparent & Glasslike”
    Dune “Dry lips”
Nephew - who originally performed "Police bells & Church Sirens”, but you could also check out "007 is also going to die"
    Tina Dico/Dickow - f.ex. “On the run”
Annisette (from the band Savage Rose) - f.ex. "Wild child" or “A girl I knew” which came out in 1968 and she’s still going strong! There's some really nice bass in the last one ;-)
Mads Langer “Monsters in my mind”, “Fact-fiction” or “Elephant”
    DAD: "Sleeping my day away"
    - and many more...

Back in 2007 ish, my girlfriends and I called in sick for midterms and travel 6hr to Jylland for a Volbeat concert. Unfortunately, we met one of our school teachers 😂.
Btw, the Danish lyrics in the song: “forever, maybe forever. Will we together, walk the same part” - “and when tomorrow opens it’s eyes and the night goes to rest, will we forever walk the same path.”

For evigt is a song surely on the setlist for a Danish crowd, sing along guarentied..lol
Johan Olsen is doing the Danish chorus, he also got hes own band called Magtens korridor.
Stine Bramsen is the girl singing along a short period of time, she is more feat on Volbeat song Dagen før, where she is more like Johan is on this one.
Volbeat always got a couple of songs on there albums, featuring other artists for example
Johan Olsen(Magtens Korodor), Stine Bramsen, Dave Matrise(Jungle Rot), Mark Greenway(Napalm Death), Sarah Blackwood, Mille Petrozza(Kreator), Pernille Rosendahl(Swan Lee), Neil Fallon, Gary Holt, Henrik Hall(Love Shop), Danko Jones.
Frontsinger Michael Poulsen actually live in my city, in Denmark, so he my hometown boy..lol, i even did drink beer with him in the past, like 20 yrs ago..

I will have to say something here❤️. I LOOOOVE this song and everything about it. When i heard it on the radio first time, i called my best friend and said: YOU GOT TO HEAR THIS ITS GONNA BE THE BEST SONG EVER MADE😍. And i guess it is❤️. BUT. Listen to the lyrics at one point he sings: Fore all these symbols dont open your eyes, you close then instead, leave the messenger behind, but one day you will know... Here im talking about satanic symbolism... We are getting lead towards satan every day and we dont see it😢.. Look at the original video ...

I highly recommend listening to Johan Olsen too!! He's part of a band named Magtens Korridorer (The Corridors of Power) and he's got such a unique voice, and seriously awesome lyrics in Danish (so of course, you'd need to read a translation, but still).
If you're looking for something from him, try out "Picnic". It sounds like a really fun, upbeat song, but is actually about politics.

  • @johannesnielsenjohnbates8889

Chorus translated will be something like:
    Forever, maybe forever
We shall walk down this path together
When tomorrow comes and the night has passed
We might walk together forever you and I
If you translate it word by word it won’t make much sense in English, but this is about the closest you can get.

I discovered Volbeat about 7 years ago. They are AMAZING!!! This band doesn't fit into a genre very readily and is impossible to find a similar sounding band. Good to see you on these reactions to different songs. I am sure you have delved into their catalogue more so in the last month since you started posting these. Might I recommend 'Fallen'. It might be my favorite Volbeat song and Michael wrote this after the passing of his father. I've seen Volbeat 2x live and don't think they play the song live for some reason. However, I think it might be their best.

If you want something totally different and about the heaviest song in their back catalogue, Evelyn is a good shout and at Talia Parken, actually features Barney Greenway from Nepalm Death who sang on the album track. Lyrically and the way it's sung, a beautiful contrast between anger and a more rational looking back with fondness in the chorus. Not for everyone though.
Lonesome Rider is also quite different and well worth a listen from that show. A better vocal performance than the album version too, in my opinion.
Let it burn and Devil's bleeding crown are fan favorites.
