    Would love to see more Revit learning videos how to build wood framing house.

    • @BINHE615

      Although most of the houses here(Australia) are timber framed, most of the time we do not model any timber members except those major columns or beams, unless the client is paying for that?

    thank you...can you make details of wood with dimensions ready to cut?.... for instance , if I want to precut all the framing instead of cutting them at the job site....
    I want to make my own business but WI ant to pre-fab as much as I can before installing it

      I think you can create a structural framing schedule and list the length of all the timber frames. But it’s probably not very accurate. Maybe you should check and see if there is a timber framing addin for Revit?

    Thanks for this. Curious why you did not attach the roof to Level 1?

    • @BINHE615
      @BINHE615  2 года назад

      It's up to you I guess. I refer placing the roof on floor plan so I can roughly tell the height by selecting it, actually, I like to model everything on the floor plan to have minimal amount of levels. :)
      If you place the roof on the Level 1, you can adjust the roof height by adjusting the height of Level 1.
      You will figure this out and find your preference soon.

    Hello, thank you for your great video! Is there a way to join the beams so they have a flush connection? For example, making the rafters meet the ridge flush at that angle.

    • @BINHE615

      You probably skip the part where I adjusted the height of the truss. Select the truss and in the properties you would see a couple of height parameters.

    hi, Bin He thanks for this video it is very helpful, in case I want to change the slope of the roof is there a way to align the hip rafters so they can follow the slope? I tried changing the roof slope, I'm not sure which slope I want to set for the final design, and some beams, mainly the hip rafter beams and some individual beams from the beam system stay on the same position while the roof changed slope. I fixed the beam system by doing a reset but I could not change the individual beams on the hip rafter.

    • @BINHE615
      @BINHE615  4 года назад +1

      To be honest I don’t know how to make the rafter you follow the roof (height), I would just use the spot elevation to find out the height and manually adjust the 2 heights for the rafter.

    • @CrlsE094
      @CrlsE094 4 года назад +1

      @@BINHE615 I was thinking if it is possible to create truss just with the top beam and align it to the roof. Thanks I will use the spot elevation. Trusses are kind of confusing.

    • @BINHE615
      @BINHE615  4 года назад +1

      @@CrlsE094 Yes, I think it's possible to use the truss. But I don't think you can simply align the top beam to the roof. What I can think of is to create a truss with an angular parameter for the pitch, so you can easily adjust the angle when you need to change the pitch. What do you think?

    • @CrlsE094
      @CrlsE094 4 года назад

      @@BINHE615 I believe that trusses have the Attach top base option like in walls if I’m not mistaking. What I’m not sure is to what side is going to be attached because the hip rafter is not plane, it is a line. I think I will watch your truss videos, I find trusses very confusing hehe . I was thinking of a truss just with a top and bottom chord for structure support and the option to extend the top cord, in order to have a high ceiling or vaulted ceiling. But as you said, controlling the angle with a global parameter will be a more simple solution.

    • @BINHE615
      @BINHE615  3 года назад

      Yes, you have the option to 3D snapping while place structure beam, but sometimes it does not work. Instead you can set work plane first and place it without 3D snapping check. This will create a member in that selected work plane.

    Amazing👍 just can you please show us with the same example how to make the trusses especially in the change of direction of the cover

    • @BINHE615
      @BINHE615  4 года назад

      TBH I don't know how these trusses will be designed. You probably need to find some builder, or people from truss manufacturer and ask them. Once you have the design of the truss and you will be able to model this using the method in this video. But most of the time the truss manufacturer will take care of this I believe.

    • @BINHE615
      @BINHE615  3 года назад

      Yes, sometimes this does happen. What you can do is uncheck the 3D Snapping, create the beam first, then adjust the Start Level Offset and End Level Offset manually. I'm not sure why this happens, maybe they just don't like each other.
