      There’s a reason I didn’t review the first one for a full year after getting it and even this one I waited four months of use. It’s hard to trust stuff from China but even some of the Millers and Lincolns are coming from overseas now. This welder is so much better than the 205 DS as long as you don’t need the 110 option

    Just got a Yeswelder and I hate manuals. I'm an open it up and figure it out kinda girl lol. My coworker and I spent 2 hrs trying to figure this thing out for my spool gun. Dry feeding the wire seemed like it ran incredibly slowwwwww. Blindly fiddling with settings till he helped me dial it in so I can work on some 1/4" aluminum. But your video helps big time!

    sweet man, I had sort of the same issue with my everlast. the ground was junk. Their c/s guy said 'well its rated for it' ... thing melted and the wring caught fire on me, had to replace it with a 300a lincoln and 1/0 battery cable. that welder you got there has some pretty neat features like the voltage ramp. Im curious how the longevity would be though, for a 'home shop' guy vs a weekend warrior. i mean, will it burn 3/16 7018 non stop for an hour,.. who knows

    • @FlawedOffroad

      That I don’t know but if I was running rod that long I’d break out the tombstone anyway😅
      The clamp itself isn’t as bad as some it’s just that strap gets wrecked quick

    • @FlawedOffroad
      @FlawedOffroad  11 месяцев назад

      250 can but no 110v. 205 can’t. 110v aluminum welding probably won’t work out very well

  • @frankish5314
    @frankish5314 Год назад

    OK I just did a side by side comparison of this and the ToolIOM model. This one came in at a max amps of about 210. Interestingly both the MIG-Pro 250 and the Tooliom TL250 only gives its max amps (Tooliom actually gave a bit more amperage) on the aluminum synergy settings.. Both machines are way down on amperage (about 175 to 180) on any of the steel settings... So if you want to mig weld thick steel use the AL synergy settings and bias the voltage accordingly.. Very odd.

    • @FlawedOffroad
      @FlawedOffroad  Год назад

      That’s interesting. I actually don’t use the synergy settings that’s why I got this model to replace the 205ds, on this one I do full manual that’s how I like it.

      cant use pedal on it

    • @92frchld
      @92frchld Год назад +1

      Darn. Yea i went on the website and for a lot more you can get an ac/dc combo that cuts as well and has pedal option for tig. But holy moly i could buy another yj for the price. But for 400$ more you can get a cutter/welder combo but it doesnt have a spool gun option. Seems like they hold something extremely useful back from you no matter what route you go with.

    • @FlawedOffroad
      @FlawedOffroad  Год назад +1

      @@92frchld yeah I have been very vocal with them about only having 1 machine with ac tig. You can mod a spool gun onto any of their mig welders, check my channel for a video that I modded one onto the 205ds

      @92frchld Год назад

      You know i was wondering because you didnt have one in the 205ds video but you had one for both in the 250pro video. Ill look for the one where you mod it. I really want to get their firstess mp200 mig/cutter model. Its a heck of a package for 999$ but doesnt do spool. If i can mod a spool to it then im all chips in on it. Its dual volt to. So did you just decide to buy the 250 since you said you liked your other 205 welder. Or did they send you the welder for a review? Perhaps you can send me the old welder so I can have one too. ;) thank you this was very informative.

      I actually asked them to send me the ac TIG machine, they declined that and sent me this instead. What’s cool is they never once have asked me to make a video or made that a requirement. I guess I have sent enough sales their way that it’s worth it haha. The old 205 is going to my son who is starting welding classes at high school

    I was trying to figure out if the 250 was worth it over a 205 and as soon as you pointed out the 220 only my decision was made. I have a CT2050 so i just need this for flux cored MIG. I have a 220 outlet (well its an extension cord wired into my panel lol) but I want the 110 option. Thanks for the video.

    What is the thinnest and thickess metal can you weld? Thank you

    • @FlawedOffroad
      @FlawedOffroad  Год назад

      Thinnest will be a skill level type thing. No welder will do long runs on sheet metal, it’s technique.
      On mig I ain’t scared to weld 1/2” plate with it. Again it’s a skill level thing, joint prep, bevel edges, etc. it pretty easily handles 3/8”.
      Another words to me there is no limit, you could weld 1” thick with multi pass welds if you know what you’re doing.

    • @FlawedOffroad

      On manual mode you can control volts and wire speed independently, on synergetic or automatic mode you just get an amp dial and it kind of changes both together.

    What's annoying about using metrics for measuring(especially metal working) is its inherently more inaccurate especially when the measurements are for length and height compared to the imperial system which is easier and more accurate . The imperial system is better for most everyday thing's other than light weights(like measuring thrust) were grams are useful imo . But when you get over the 1lb mark it's much easier to use a pound for measuring rather than a kilo end of rant .. But yeswelder should make it imperial since they are leaning hard into the US market and imperial may be harder for metric users to use but overall it's more accurate which is important . If you see this now is the welder so far .

    • @FlawedOffroad
      @FlawedOffroad  Год назад

      My old boss once told me if you ever want to impress a girl, use metric cause 15cm sounds more impressive than 6" 😂 I love the welder, no complaints. I will be making another video soon on the new Yeswelder tig 225 machine but so far that one im not super impressed with, due to lack of a few key features
