I didn't like it, but I kind of forgive it due to all the behind the scenes stuff that was going on at the time, with the change over from Saban to Disney. Though in all fairness, Reinforcements From the Future and Forever Red were friggin awesome!
I am fully with you that the show itself was not for me. I don't care for some of the performances, and agree that the villain and messages were unappealing. However, I do have a deep personal love of the zords from this line. I had imported most of the figures before it made the transition to the US. I loved the many varied combinations and the designs from the PLEX studios. I do wish they had more leg zords. Sadly, due to circumstances, I had to sell off my collection a few years later, and it's one of my deepest regrets as a collector.
As a Ranger fan, Wildforce was my introductory Season. It clicked with me as it not only came out my birth year, but was also the first season I saw. I can understand why it did not click with people, however, I found it to be fun and incredible
i got into power rangers when samurai came out bc im an 05 baby lmfao but yeah first vintage megazord a i bought was wild force and that show introduced me to the other seasons and now i have almost every megazord from every season of power rangers. the die cast just made them feel so special when i was a kid and i bought em one at a time and every time i got one and could add to the megazord ahh it was a magical feeling, not one i will forget
I thought Wild Force was ok, and I liked the idea of swapping zord parts at first. But when all the following seasons started just abusing the gimmick, I got sick of it quickly.
Yup. I thought the idea was great. I didn’t like how the limbs didn’t really change shape but it was something new. And I agree, the moment every other season copied, it got old real quick. Not only that, the limb still doesn’t change shape. It’s a simple slap on the auxiliary zords onto the arm or leg.
@@the1magageneral3232 why are you blaming Ninja storm and Dino thunder for this. You know who came up with the idea that you guys somehow found a way to hate? Sentai. Blimming Sentai
I think the reason why Wild Force/Gaoranger zords were like this was to make variety for other animals. As shown with the repaints of the Lions, the remolds of the sharks, gorillas, bulls, birds, and cats, and the bears too. There's someone on RUclips who made custom zords for the Wild Force that reuses the base of the wild zords, which seems like they can be the undiscovered wildzords as well, and there were even concept arts for those kinds of wild zords that would be able to combine with the Megazords (including the Peacock and Horse and Stingray)
The Armadillo Zord is actually Black's, but summoned by Yellow since Black also has Rhino. White has Elephant and Deer. Another special release is the GaoPanda.
Hi there ! You mentioned Red Gorilla being an American exclusive! This is actually not true, the red gorilla zord was actually featured in the movie; gaoranger: the fire mountain roars. In the movie, a red version called GaoKong helps the team out. It was released in Japan as a standalone thing. That's why it has the gladiator head moulding.
OK when I was a wee lad, of 13 going on 14, I ADORED the Kongazord. I loved how big and bulky it was. However, like with the original megazord, the Shogun Megazord, the Super Zeo Megazord, Astro and Delta Megazords, and the Lightspeed megazord, we never had the money for me to get it when it was on the shelves. Now that SMP has the ENTIRE line of zord models out, I have all the Wild Zords that they showed in the show, and the one in the movie. The Giant Lion was the only one I had no interest in, but I have the Animus Zords, The Wild Force megazord Zords, the Gorilla, and bear zords, the preda zords, and the Icarus Megazord zords. When you bought the Gao Muscle set, you did get pieces to make untransformable bison and eagle zords though, with the set being in favor of the rhino and armadillo. You are correct though that you would have a bunch of duplicate zords. I have 3 bisons, One from the original set, one from Gao Kong, and one from Gao God. 3 tigers, from the same sets, 3 sharks, and 3 eagles. 2 rhinos, 2 armadillos. 2 lions. The only 6 ones that don't have any form of duplicate really, is the Predazords, except the hammerhead shark, and the Falcon, Giraffe and Deer. I would have 2 elephants if I wanted the giant lion but nah.
I love them. This particular season is one of the ones I remember most from watching the kids. The Disney Era was one I actually grew up with so most of them hold a special place in my heart. I loved the overabundance of zords, the mixing and matching was so different than done before, and each zord looked really good. Thankfully they kept the diecast so these zords hold up very, very well. My Bison I've had since I was a kid and it's been true EVERYTHING, and he still does what he is supposed it. This was the first, and so far only, zord line I've bought nearly all of. I'm just missing the more extraneous things like the red ape, soul bird, etc. After watching I see your points, and I van completely understand where your coming from. Although I don't agree to dislike the season, I can see clearly why you would. Glad to see you at least like Winged Megazord That Shall Not Be Named, whether you like the season or not, that is just a beautiful megazord and I would suggest picking it up just because. Good video as always, though I will be sad missing your in depth reviews on this particular line. I'm excited to see you hit Ninja Storm soon though.
Like it or not the zords were definitely the best part of the series. There's even a youtuber by the name of Fahmi Zulfikar that makes custom zords in the same style to kinda give you an idea of how impactful this particular series' zords are. Though if there's one thing I can definitely agree on, it was the fact that the yellow ranger was just not a pleasant character throughout the series.
Wild force/Gaoranger was my all time favorite, I don’t get how people hate on that season… but now that you actually explain it’s understandable. The season is much rather a fairy tale than a animal theme season. Even though it’s consider an animal theme. There are a total of 100 zord because it stated in the name Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger (100 beast Squadron Gaoranger) so that should answer your question on why there’s so many zord. Every Zord are cannon to the show (except the re color lion at the end) and each one of them have a small back story on why they appear, and not just a power up the ranger unlock… and yes even the big Gao lion
Wild Force has good designs, agreed, but aside from the comments you've already made about it being overly sincere and preachy and tonally weird and I also found a lot of the narrative to be super derivative and uninspired. It's interesting to see the changes they made from the Japanese to the US releases. The Gao Animals are some of the best zord designs we've seen and I super regret not buying the SMP Gaoranger stuff that they've been dropping of late :(
Wild force is one of my favourites. This may be a biased opinion because I was a young child when it was airing in Canada so it was basically the first I’ve known, so nostalgia glasses probably but i recently went back and rematched it and I liked it fine
Man I knew this was coming since your collection updates and Lost Galaxy video. Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger roughly translates to “Hundred Beast Squadron Gaoranger”. There could well have been over 100 zords intended given what we know publicly from the early stages of development. Did you also know Ryan that the reason the “terrible” looking Master Org main villan suit looks terrible was because it wasn’t from Gaoranger at all? His suit believe it or not was actually the character called 15th Gorma from Dairanger. Basically Japan’s way, way, way less cool version of Lord Zedd. Saban was looking to use as much unused Dairanger stuff that was usable as possible throughout the years hence Mike’s Morpher in Lost Galaxy. Anyway, I also look forward to your reviews of the subtly inspired by Liveman Ninja Storm and Hurricanger zords. Revolver Mammoth truly is one beast of a zord.
Yeah unfortunately this season is where they dumped a lot of the remaining Dairanger stuff instead of adapting it beyond the White Ranger and their Mecha. Gaoranger and Wild Force are actually very close to each other and I like that. In a way this is one of the last seasons that they didn't needlessly change in some way. Looking at you Megaforce and Super Megaforce. Why was the Pirates angle scrapped for the sake of forcing Gokaiger to be a second season is beyond me.
I disagree, ONLY because I LOVE the zords. 😅 I’m still collecting these zords to this day. It’s hard to find some of them, but the designs and animal choices really resonated with me.
I like the season and the Zords from the season, but as I wasn't really collecting back then. I wasn't really aware of how many duplicates there was for this season. I do however like the Zords, especially the base Megazord and the Animus Zord, as they resemble a Prime from Transformers if you squint sideways lol.
This was the first zord that I remember my dad getting me new in the store! So of course the nostalgia is killer. I just remember, even as a kid, being so impressed with the quality and wondering why my other toys felt cheaper relative to these zords. I ended up not getting any other zords until later in my childhood. EBay and goodwill finds. But holy cow I loved that original wild force megazord. Built like a tank. Painted great. So much fun. PredaIrs stands as my current favorite zord right now. Rad design! I understand the piecemeal nature of reusing bits but I love the interchangeability. Great video, I'm sad you don't own the line but I understand. Thank you!
Wild Force was iffy for me. There are aspects I like, and aspects I don't. I never really warmed to any of the characters, except for Jindrax and Toxica. I found some parts to be stomach churningly sentimental, and I positively loathed Shayla. However I love the zords and the general idea of the Animarium. I think it's because they're meant to be sentient animals rather than just machines and I'm a big animal lover. I've collected a bunch of them, but I have no intention of getting the full set. I'm all ready out of space on my Animarium Temple playset with just the standard megazord and Isis megazord (minus the giraffe, but the wolf from the predazord works well enough as a stand in) and the 6 ranger figures. I've created something of a sanctuary for bruised and battered zord toys bought one by one from ebay and toy cons. Bought cheap and repainted and repaired where necessary. And no the Shayla figure is not part of my collection. The denizens of the Animarium decided a monarchy was outdated and kicked her out. Now she lives in a PETA commune, is in a fulfilling relationship with a guy called Gene who sells marijuana edibles and extremely uncomfortable sandals made from plastic bottles and duct tape. And she is still not allowed to sing. That might have gotten away from me a bit there.
I loved Wild Force, it got me back into PR after many years. I was even RedSavageWarrior on Rangerboard back in the day in WF’s honour. I had all the Wild Zords back then too, a mix of the American/UK ones and Japanese ones, including their Soul Bird with the mini figures and Elephant and even repainted an Eagle to make the adult Soul Bird and a pair of Black/Polar Bears to make the Panda from a Japanese audio book. Yes the series itself wasn’t the greatest the franchise has ever produced, but the cheesiness of it reminded me of MMPR. For me it was Time Force that was boring as far as Zord and Ranger suit designs were concerned. Not even their sixth Ranger looked overly different from the rest.
I like wildforce it was the first breath of air given by Disney and brought in the Disney era without a doubt one of the best eras of power rangers with the best shows
I can respect someone who recognizes that a thing is not for them. You did a good job going over the pros and cons of the line and yeah, it could be pretty confusing. It's still hard to release stuff from it now. the release of the SMP Gaoranger stuff tried to avoid dupes while also providing full robots but they basically abandoned that in wave 2. Nonetheless, despite the overlap, they're good designs in my book.
Weird reasons though, the quality of the American show should have no bearing on the opinion of the design of the mecha. Also, if you don't like duplicates, just _don't buy duplicates._ You can form up to 3 full megazords with the parts that you're given and not have a single duplicate.
It's hard to hate the swapping arms auxiliary zords in Wild Force when it was really the first series to do it. (though granted I also have a soft spot for DinoThunder) I only ever had fluff from the rest of the toyline like transforming rangers into zords etc, but I always loved Wild Force, probably one of my favorite megazord lineups. Personally would prefer the sticker on the shark to paint + the screw being right there. I'm sure it's not a good watch by my modern standards, but I watched certain storylines so much back in the day that I remember liking it as much if not more than Time Force/Lightspeed Rescue. Honestly I'm kind of afraid to go back to rewatch because I'm afraid most of the series won't meet my modern standards for storytelling. Wasn't a fan of the Gao Changer as an actual thing to own, but you know "Wild Access"/"Gao Access" as a decent morphing sequence imo. Also holy crap how'd this release on the same day as Linkara's HotP Wildforce
There were a total of 3 recolors of the red lion. One white, one blue, and one black(paint is different than Animus). They also made larger versions of the white and blue lions.
Even as a child I didn't particularly like this season. I stopped collecting from this season after the konga zord. But I do have that chain weapon that came with it, maybe the early shipments in the US still had it?
From my experience Wild Force is a bit of a marmite season you ether like it or you hate it. I liked it but I do admit it could be very preachy and that was very annoying.
I'm from Latin America, here PR struggled early on, since it was never properly broadcasted, and most people didn't had cable at the time, that changed around the 2000s, were spanish kid / teenage oriented channels really started to catch up to english speaking broadcasters, bringing new and current content, and not just reruns or badly dubbed anime. Because of this, Wild Force was among the first PR series that people here could properly enjoy and get into, until this day if you ask someone in Latin America what they associate most with PR, they'd probably reference Wild Force, culturally it is akin to what MMPR is for the rest of the world. I do acknowledge and agree with some of the criticism and reservations that people have with the season, but for me and many others, WF set the tone for what PR should feel, look, and just be, so it’s very interesting to me how different circumstances can make the tone of a series so polarizing.
I'm a sucker for animal themed zords and have only recently started looking into buying stuff from wildforce. Which has been soul crushing since most of the zords are all sold individually on the second hand market going upward of $100+ each.
The Wild Zords set themselves apart of the rest of the PR zords for the reason that in the show they were alive, they showed emotions and that created a connection with kids who did not know PR from Mighty Morphin, but from Wild Force, Ninja Storm, SPD, etc. and the Individual Zords looked great, which was a rarity since most of the zords before them sacrificed their individual appearence to look better combined, and the wild zords looked great in both modes, sadly as a season, it did not handle the pollution theme very well, I can appreciate environmetalism messages though, specially in a show for kids.
Fun fact about GaoHunter. It's was the most released mold of Gaoranger. Having 5 varients released in Japan alone. Add 5 more for it's South Korean release (they received the same as Japan), and 1 more for North America and 1 for Europe and this mold was released a total of 12 different times. IDK about any SE Asian releases though, so it could be even more then that
Kinda love this. I love auxiliary zords, just the fact that you can mix and switch arms or in this season legs is just so fun for me. Also how they used so many different animals was really cool.
FYI if you wanna get the complete series of Wild Force, do search for Super Sentai version, NOT the Power Rangers version, cause US always mix and made up stupid storylines which makes no sense.
personally i really liked the season BUT, you have your own opinion and that’s okay. you have valid points but can still respect the designs used, so good job man.
The "gao elephant being exclusive to the Super Sentai toyline" surprises me because in the console version of the Power Rangers Dino Thunder video game you can unlock the animarium from wild force along with the main 5 zords and the silver wolf zord, and in the environment is the elephant zord sitting on top of a mountain around the center of the map. You can also see the 2 bear zords and gorilla zord around the entrance of the map. Each one is also animated. They're a little hard to see you really need use the eagle zord to get high and move the camera a bit to get a good look at them. I haven't seen Wild Force since it originally aired so I always assumed it was in the Power Rangers version of the show.
I loved the season and the toys as a child but as an adult I love the toys but can’t stand certain aspects like the cringe :) it’s one of the seasons I avoid watching fully and just skip to specific moments or episodes.
Wild Force is my favorite season and toyline. I do have to agree with you on repetitiveness and quantity. Getting the whole is very tough and even tougher now as these megazords have some of the highest secondary market values.
Am I the only one who would want to see a full on insect themed power rangers show? With each ranger having an armor mode for there respective insect. The five main zords being a hornet for red, a rhinoceros beetle for blue, a dragonfly for green or black, a bee for yellow and a diving beetle for pink or white and finally the gold ranger having a mantis as a sixth zord. I had an idea where the zords could combine in various ways and not being restricted to an arm or leg with the different configurations giving the megazord different abilities as a reference to zeo.
So a couple of things you got wrong. That elephant that comes with the non transforming megazord is not the same as the Sentai version. You can see in the picture it has hollow legs while the Sentai version has its legs screwed together, not to mention it is smaller. Also the Kongazord did come with the chain in the US, or at least mine did because I definitely still have that. Otherwise good retrospective.
PLUS most of the model kits are limb swappable between series. I can put the bear or shark/tiger arms on the Lightspeed megazord or the combined zord with the solarzord, I can put the bears on the NInja Megazord, and I can make a nearly complete Bear themed megazord with the Shogun bear zord, the bottom half of the Ape shogun zord, the Black bear and polar bear and the Bear Ninja zord. I just need another bear themed leg :P
I enjoyed animal based mechs. Its why I love Jungle Fury. To me Jungle Fury is an upgrade in terms of aesthetics but not wild force popularized the idea. The switching gimmick isn’t too bad cause it sets things up in a way. I wished we were able to see more of the mechs but the ones we got are fine. My favorite is whatever they called Gao Icarus here. Also I have a soft spot for that one episode with all the red rangers up to wild force Edit: i like jungle fury more than wild force
just want to clear up the chain weapon for the kongo zord, i did have this megazord and i do remember having the chain weapon but i think it wasn't painted gold but instead it was clear yellow plastic
The Red Gorilla is from Japan - from the Gaoranger movie where it’s used to create GaoKnight (which is red gorilla and otherwise the normal WF Megazord Zords plus elephant). The toyline has a black repaint of GaoElephant - the super MiniPla version of GaoKnight comes with that (as normally formed with standard elephant) if you haven’t seen either.
One thing that bothered me since I was a kid was that the Falcon, giraffe and deer are noticeably bigger and have no die cast, which made it feel out of place compared to the rest. The wings being completely static was a big disappointment too. Thankfully, the mini-pla release looks awesome
It's probably because with the others they tried to use the much smaller American Molds but they didn't really have the Japanese R&D to help them with those 3 since ironically enough all the Retoolings actually only showed up once or twice except for those 3. So all the actual Zords from this season are smaller than the Japanese versions but they didn't have molds for those three. Thus leading to them just using the Japanese molds with less of the extra stuff those had because they just didn't have the time. The Wings are a particular consequence of this as well as the size. They don't have die cast not out of choice but because the molds weren't made to accommodate it. They actually did the same thing a couple of times for the repaints in RPM. A lot of them actually showed up in Go Onger or in concept art. That's why the Samurai version of the Megazord for that season actually is a little bigger, that's because it was from the Movie but they didn't do that for RPM so the molds were still leftover.
@@Zeromaru42 Wait, I'm confused, I have a Japanese and UK versions of most of the Zords and they're the same size? The isis zords are much bigger in both, the US version looks the same from what I've seen?
@@zac_walton Not exactly, in the case of those three in particular they were retoolings and their own thing. Even in Japan they had larger scale versions and the Japanese ones are all slightly different in minute details. The Japanese molds for Gaoranger in particular were designed with larger scale in mind for those ones in particular but their molds were actually retools which results in strange height issues. They also never got around to releasing the smaller versions and they actually kinda needed to be bigger for gimmicks so they never actually released a lot of them. Plus if a lot of them are retools it gets harder and harder to justify the Falcon Giraffe and Deer. I don't know why they didn't just make them smaller though since they did it for Samurai?
I have to say I thought these were one of the best looking Zords. Far as collecting, I was all over the place. Not only US and Japan zords, they also had Korean versions. I bought from all 3 to almost complete 🤣
@powerrangertube solution: minipla. They're smaller I know, but great for filling in seasons that you skipped and don't take up much space. Plus, with Wild Force, you really only need the "main" megazords: Wildforce megazord, Predizord, only 1 Kongazord maybe and Isis megazord. No need for all of the auxiliary zords and repaints.
One word: Chogokin!! These were chogokin style and could zord build with Hurricanger/Ninja Storm. I bought almost the entire set of the megazords for about $100. These are awesome pieces. Now I own most of the Hurricanger line while my son has a mix of Gaoranger/Wild Force Megazords.
Oh I know why lol cause these things are notoriously know for being expensive I’ve seen the Predazord not even fully complete easily go for $300 and the Blue Shark zord is almost never on the market and when it is it’s crazy pricey as well I’ve seen it twice for over $80 and that was WITHOUT Fin/sword included. Great toys but buying ALL these is easily gonna add up to $1000 or more!
for that, its better to look at Japanese proxy services instead i trust their prices rather than the people on Ebay/Amazon trying to scam fans and asking 500 to almost 1000 USD on old Zords ( Legacy Dino Megazord being the worst of all in Amazon...just why?!!! )
I have the u.s electronic deluxe konga megazord. I've long since lost the accessories but it did have the gold chain. It also had missile pieces you put in the bear zords mouths.
There is also a panda zord, which is a repaint of one of the bears. There are the blue and white lions which are very cool looking. There is a Grey ape too. I personally a completely silver/ chrome Predazord.
For some reason, the thing I remember most was the tv presenters for whatever channel it was shown on in the UK being in Auckland, because Auck sounded like Org and they had a running joke about it before each episode aired or something. Probably had a competition for a holiday or something
it was good in terms of playing with the zords. so for that alone, i give it a 5/5. for collecting them all, yeah 2/5... the show was difficult to rewatch the 3rd time. it didn't help that the japanese version was also hard to watch all the way. i grew up watching both since i was in korea at the time. it was really easy to collect the toys there but that was mostly because at the time, a lot of chinese knockoffs were around. surprisingly, they were of decent quality with just paint applications missing. i had the american, japanese/korean, and the chinese knockoff versions and had a full set. when i moved back to the states, i wasn't able to bring any of my toys. so i gave them to my friend who was missing half (along with my other collections. he still has them in better condition than i would have kept them...). it was a blast playing with them. it was also fun to swap limbs with ninja storm and dino thunder. idk, i think i just had a different experience with them compared to yours. in korea, we also had a "fake mega zord" for "power force" (what we called it in korean). this "fake zord" was a lotteria kids meal exclusive (yes, i got the full set when it came out). this was also able to combine with the main zords (limbs, torso). so this further made them fun to play with (look up 롯데리아 어린이세트 제공 동물합체로봇 on google. that was the toy from lotteria)
I loved wildforce (except for the final battle), but couldn't get any zord as a kid; now I'm glad I didn't because, like you said, there are way to many wild zords, and getting all of them would be incredibly expensive. Because there is also gaopanda, a panda repaint of the Bear zords And a Gray/silver version of the gorilla. And also, there was a chinese company that kept releasing wild zords that were compatible with the official ones and of a very good quality, they Made a Mammoth torso, a zebra arm, a caribeu arm, and a Fox and Sabertooth tiger that combine into the legs. They called the set "champion crown king bot". So yeah, getting every single compatible wild zord is pretty much imposible. I'll wait for the hasbro ZAP release and will only buy the zords they make, would be cheaper and easier in the end.
You sir have a new subscriber. Your videos go in detail and you know your stuff. I could never find predazord when it first came out. When I did it was way too expensive now
Hi Ryan i have a question for you, I was thinking about buying a Japanese Shinkenger "megazord" (the main megazord). I Was wondering if it could combine with the amercain claw zord. Thanks
despite opinions on WF itself, we can agree it had 2 of the best specials in Power Rangers, with Reinforments from the future and of course Forever Red (still wished they did the original battle with a bunch of old zords coming together to fight serpentera instead of a god power motorcycle)
The only Wild Force zords I never got were: The Soul Bird, since it came with a megazord that wasn't on the show (still kickin' myself); the Jumbo Lion, pretty sure it was available, I just didn't know about it; & the Elephant & Isis Megazord, since they didn't import the former, & they only sold the latter in a stupid playset version where I lived. And in 02, I didn't have amazon access or income, so I couldn't get them online. Even now, not enough disposable income to seek them out.
I didn't own any Wild Force Zords growing up, but I couldn't understand the myriad of decisions Bandai America made at this time. Replacing stickers with paint, but skipping paint in other areas. Adding electronics where there were none before (and thus less money for more paint). Skipping the Elephant, etc. I'm collecting the Gaoranger SMP models, though I'm not building the duplicate ones at the moment. If I set things right, I think I can use (almost) everything thusly: Gao Knight Gao Hunter Gao Muscle Striker And finally, using Big Lion, Falcon, Deer, and Giraffe, you get something labeled as "Gao Pegasus" on a Korea-exclusive bundle of the DX toys. With that, the only duplicates are the original Gao Lion and the Black Elephant, which was a toyline exclusive anyway. P.S., there were actually two more DX toys released, Gao Panda, and Gao Ape. Though they were still repaints, they were listed in the official 100 Power Animal index, unlike the Blue or White Lions.
For the kongazord you do get the chain wepon. My kongazord I got when I was a kid came with it and I still have it. for the elephant that came with the mini non transforming megazord, it's to small to work with the deluxe one. And no u cant put the falcon zord on the normal red lion.
Further explanation: Gaolion becomes big and the legs of gaoicarus (not the canon gaokentaurus formation, but actually a formation sold in korean market); Gaoknight officially already uses the rest of the animals of "gaoking sword and shield"; Gaomuscle becomes "gaomuscle striker" using the legs of gaoicarus. Gaohunter and gaogod stay as default. By this configuration the only unused toy is the standard size gaolion, but it's kinda plausible because it is supposed to be transformed into it's enlarged form (and gaopanda that is an extremely rare 3rd bear that is only supposed to replace one of the bears), so you'll be using all unique animals in transformation at the same time and that was never done on screen! (neither in movies, or audiodramas, even japan exclusive material)
inb4: Blue moon is both temporary in canon and a recolor. Not mentioning soul bird, was never meant to be an arm... Yes, gaopanda is a recolor but he's got canon lore at least. No, gaokong is not a recolor, he's got a different head for the gattai, and even if he was, he's got lore on his movie. Other recolors without lore... meh... You can build a black and white version of gaoking or gaoknight with them, have fun if you want... If yo build the black and white gaoknight, at least you'll have the gold gaoking and chrome gaohunter to put at his side, and a spare black gaolion and white gaolion to do ing/yang shenanigans with...
Purely from a design point, the suits were good, i love the zords designs. I loved the playability and swapability with the zords. Im a bit of a hippie at heart so the theme sung to me. The time force crossover gave nice closure to Ransiks story i thought. And finally while i respect your opinion, you're wrong.😛 Just kidding. I see where youre coming from though.
I am currently buying the Super Minipla Gaoranger line. I skipped this season back in the day because I was 14 at the time and had "quit" on Power Rangers after In Space. However, I love the zords and the suits. If it aired today I would buy every single zord. Sadly they're way too expensive on the second hand market.
Wild Force is the only season I have ever Zord and Megazord for and I've been collecting the new SMP minipla they've been releasing. It's my personal favourite line-up of zords and it's one of my favourite seasons. I respect your opinion but I cannot agree with it. Also, don't forget, you can combine these Zords with the Ninja Storm ones for twice the play factor.
Actually the english release of the Kongazord did include the chain. I surprisingly still have mine and never lost it but those plates I definitely lost those and my wild force shark tail.
Wild Force is my favorite but I respect your opinion. Your got good points but thus was my first season that I got in. My first zords were Gao king and Gao God. It was easier to get the Japanese release cuz I live in Asia.
I have tried Wild Force a couple times and it is just never for me. Ninja Storm is what brought me back in full steam. Looking forward to your reviews on those and the Disney era.
He didn’t even mention the other japan exclusive gao animals, the panda, the black elephant, the black gorilla. and they could have kept the recolors going too. Brown bear, normal tiger, panther. and those are just the easy recolors lol
So this was the first zord line that my brother and I got basically the entire line but it's sad because they didn't all make it to the present day. Realistically only the konga megazord made it out complete as my wild force megazord is missing the white tiger replaced by an amalgam of the world white tiger and cheetah from the Animus megazord.
Great video! I think the Q rex megazord is actually the first megazord with claws for feet. This really got me to think more about what makes a toy line great.
I think the true satisfaction of collecting Wild Force / Gaoranger Zords is to line them up unassembled and naming how many animal they had like Pokemon or animal figurines, I don't know if unassembled Megazord is considered defeat the purpose (lol for the last part)
Wild Force is not for me.
I didn't like it, but I kind of forgive it due to all the behind the scenes stuff that was going on at the time, with the change over from Saban to Disney. Though in all fairness, Reinforcements From the Future and Forever Red were friggin awesome!
I like it
I am fully with you that the show itself was not for me.
This season lacked the action of what i had come to expect from Power Rangers. Even the sixth ranger couldn't save it for me.
I like it, but mostly because of the specials and Coles story... I found that the most interesting part...
As a Ranger fan, Wildforce was my introductory Season. It clicked with me as it not only came out my birth year, but was also the first season I saw. I can understand why it did not click with people, however, I found it to be fun and incredible
In my opinion, the Wild Force Megazords are by far the best looking and they are the reason I started collecting Power Rangers figures and Megazords.
@gAMER-ip9np I personally think the Megazords are the best looking and have a better quality.
same
i got into power rangers when samurai came out bc im an 05 baby lmfao but yeah first vintage megazord a i bought was wild force and that show introduced me to the other seasons and now i have almost every megazord from every season of power rangers. the die cast just made them feel so special when i was a kid and i bought em one at a time and every time i got one and could add to the megazord ahh it was a magical feeling, not one i will forget
I wish I could get them
I thought Wild Force was ok, and I liked the idea of swapping zord parts at first.
MMPR did it best. Wild Force, Ninjastorm and Dinothunder abused it to death
Isn't that 'setting a trend'
@@mrdude881 it's called setting a trend. I don't see anyone shouting at Battle Fever J for introducing the giant mech in the first place
@@the1magageneral3232 why are you blaming Ninja storm and Dino thunder for this. You know who came up with the idea that you guys somehow found a way to hate?
Sentai.
Blimming Sentai
It _hurts_ that there isn't a third "legs" zord to be able to have the Kongazord alongside the other two.
And a 4th one too if people wanted to get the red version of the Kongazord
Actually there is the lion
Yeah Gao Panda was exclusive to a DVD, a repaint of the Bear Zord.
Yellow 'owns' the Black and Polar bears, but Blue and White summons/equips them when in battle.
Never cared for WF as a season and haven't had any desire to go back and watch BUT I did like their zords and always wanted to own them all.
This may be a biased opinion because I was a young child when it was airing in Canada so it was basically the first I’ve known, so nostalgia glasses probably but i recently went back and rematched it and I liked it fine
canonically there were supposed to be 100 power animals in Gaoranger, but only 25 had toys made (with the special release lions being non-canon)
Yes, there where in total 100 Zords in plan.
I heard the original plan was to have 100 animal mecha/zords for Gaoranger.
Also the últimus megazord is meant to be the main 4 zords plus the elephant it’s a knight from the gaoranger movie
I'm just about to complete this entire zord line within the next 2 weeks😁🎉
Wild Force is for ME!!!
I’ve started to collect this Zord line… but it’s one THE most expensive ones
It was the one that really pushed me pause my love for PR. The designs and just everything never sold me. I thought i was alone too.
And I forgot about all the silver variations.Gao Ape, Gao King, Gao Hunter, and Gao Icarus. Then the black versions of Gao King and Gao Ape
I had the gaoking but the brand on the box is LingDong...it didn't have any diecast parts but it's compatible with the bandai zords
I loved the season and the toys as a child but as an adult I love the toys but can’t stand certain aspects like the cringe :) it’s one of the seasons I avoid watching fully and just skip to specific moments or episodes.
I agree. I wasn’t a fan of wild force. I did own the original Megazord for a while but sold it ages ok.
hi man,was wondering if you could do an episode covering all super sentai/power rangers design made by tsuyoshi nonaka
Gaomadillo was actually usually used by yellow, while deer was whites' component of Icarus
The Deluxe Red Lion WildZord is actually a Bandai America original mold.
Im pretty sure i got a metal chain with my konga zord, i think it even attached to the bears launcher ports
Slight correction: The kongazord did include the chain!
Also I have a soft spot for that one episode with all the red rangers up to wild force
Edit: i like jungle fury more than wild force
just want to clear up the chain weapon for the kongo zord, i did have this megazord and i do remember having the chain weapon but i think it wasn't painted gold but instead it was clear yellow plastic
@9:08 - the Japanese falcon didn't have electronics in the tail.
Great toys but buying ALL these is easily gonna add up to $1000 or more!
for that, its better to look at Japanese proxy services instead
i trust their prices rather than the people on Ebay/Amazon trying to scam fans and asking 500 to almost 1000 USD on old Zords ( Legacy Dino Megazord being the worst of all in Amazon...just why?!!!
Because there is also gaopanda, a panda repaint of the Bear zords
And a Gray/silver version of the gorilla.
Not getting the Isis Megazord is one of my biggest toy regrets.
Why did it have to come out during my, "I'm not a kid anymore" phase?
You sir have a new subscriber. Your videos go in detail and you know your stuff. I could never find predazord when it first came out. When I did it was way too expensive now
Hi Ryan i have a question for you, I was thinking about buying a Japanese Shinkenger "megazord" (the main megazord). I Was wondering if it could combine with the amercain claw zord. Thanks
despite opinions on WF itself, we can agree it had 2 of the best specials in Power Rangers, with Reinforments from the future and of course Forever Red (still wished they did the original battle with a bunch of old zords coming together to fight serpentera instead of a god power motorcycle)
me at the thumbnail: BUT THE COLLECTION U CAN HAVE!!
me at the end: oh okay
If I set things right, I think I can use (almost) everything thusly:
Gao Knight
Gao Hunter
Gao Muscle Striker
And finally, using Big Lion, Falcon, Deer, and Giraffe, you get something labeled as "Gao Pegasus" on a Korea-exclusive bundle of the DX toys.
One point I NEVER seen brought up is that if you dismantle the gaoking (the bread and butter) you can complete every other gattai.
Further explanation:
Gaolion becomes big and the legs of gaoicarus (not the canon gaokentaurus formation, but actually a formation sold in korean market);
Gaoknight officially already uses the rest of the animals of "gaoking sword and shield";
Gaomuscle becomes "gaomuscle striker" using the legs of gaoicarus.
(neither in movies, or audiodramas, even japan exclusive material)
inb4:
Blue moon is both temporary in canon and a recolor.
And finally while i respect your opinion, you're wrong.😛
Just kidding. I see where youre coming from though.
I just wish the gold sash had a coloured stripe for each ranger/was silver isntead.
This is the season where I dip out collection wise, more for nostalgic reasons it doesn’t hit the same after time force
I think I remember my Kongazord came with its chain
Craziest take and something I completely do not agree on! I love the video tho!!
This was actually my first season of power rangers; but i can completely understand all your gripes with it 😅😂
Wild Force is the only season I have ever Zord and Megazord for and I've been collecting the new SMP minipla they've been releasing.
I must have got an early version of the kongazord because I had the chain weapon
I’ve watched this video like 5 times and it never gets old
I have tried Wild Force a couple times and it is just never for me. Ninja Storm is what brought me back in full steam. Looking forward to your reviews on those and the Disney era.
I've only ever seen Forever Red from this season. But thanks for the zord walkthrough. That was fun! If not, somewhat puzzling.
If they weren't so expensive I would totally have atleast one megazord from this line.
He didn’t even mention the other japan exclusive gao animals, the panda, the black elephant, the black gorilla.
and they could have kept the recolors going too. Brown bear, normal tiger, panther. and those are just the easy recolors lol
i found myself really diiging the animus zord. and out of curosity have you or will you cover operationoverdrive?
So this was the first zord line that my brother and I got basically the entire line but it's sad because they didn't all make it to the present day. Realistically only the konga megazord made it out complete as my wild force megazord is missing the white tiger replaced by an amalgam of the world white tiger and cheetah from the Animus megazord.
Great video! I think the Q rex megazord is actually the first megazord with claws for feet. This really got me to think more about what makes a toy line great.
yeah that's true there's real shortage of leg Wild Zord, fortunate for them the Black Wild Force was chill about it
I think the true satisfaction of collecting Wild Force / Gaoranger Zords is to line them up unassembled and naming how many animal they had like Pokemon or animal figurines, I don't know if unassembled Megazord is considered defeat the purpose (lol for the last part)
The red Gorilla is a retool from a gaoranger movie. Similar to the spinosaurus zord from dino charge.
My favorite is the kongazord, maybe it’s because of nostalgic effect… my mom bought it as a christmas present when i was a kid haha
I don't mind this season but my favourite parts are the red ranger suit, battleiser, crossovers and zords
I'm to excited I shared this with my friends family and fiance 😁❤️
Im in the UK and when I went to America while wild force was out I got the Isis and the kongazord and it did come with chain
