Old escalators do needed to be maintained more as their moving parts are going old & worn off! 🙏 Love to shop at MidValley Shopping Mall as there are many shops catered to many royal patrons & shoppers & have grown-up with MidValley Shopping Mall over the decades! 🙏
Me too...when in KL, must go MidV. We used to stay in Bangsar, every weekend go MidV...now old shops have gone. I still go Metrojaya and AEON, used to be Jusco.
Maybe No equipped with safety features or escalator vendor removed the safety features to minimize the maintenance. If with full safety feature even a small stone or too dusty in the motor it will automatically stop. With full safety features maintenance team have to do thorough maintenance works.
escalators and lifts have certain time periods after which maintenance work is compulsory but some of the operators totally ignore this or keep pushing the date forward . I believe we do have govt departments or public safety boards like the Fire Department that makes periodical fire safety inspections . Let us hope these govt. depts. are also not sleeping .

This is not 1st time. Few years ago the same escalators was derailed in front of me. Just 3 steps away. Truly Thanks God!
