Hello from Germany🇩🇪✌️ Flying Brick Designation for the BMW motorcycles of the K model series Flying Brick is the unofficial name for the BMW motorcycles (Bayerische Motoren Werke AG) of the K model series from 1983 to 2009. The BMW motorcycles of the K series were given the name "Flying Brick" because of the in-line engine installed lengthways to the direction of travel and inclined 90 degrees to the left (horizontally) with three or four cylinders, the appearance of which when driving past quickly and viewed from a " flying brick”. Sometimes the "Flying Brick" is also referred to somewhat disparagingly as a "toaster".🙋
You can get the repair manual and do some stuff yourself. You can find youtube videos to replace the brake lines and some stuff to improve reliability if you want. I've had mine for 10years now and it has just required normal maintenance.

This is an awesome bike! I like leaning over it and slightly to the side while cornering, it feels awesome.

My favorite bike. I've owned multiples of all brands in my 50 years of riding, but the K12GT was the G.O.A.T.
Could you compare it to the Concours?

Does the 03/04 k1200gt have a gear indicator, or just a Neutral light?

Do you think k1200gt reliability is better than r1200rt?Thanks
They are both amazing motorcycle, it depends on the one you want, I have the the K1200RS, but they make newer bikes for a reason.
