Great video! You might consider changing your 1.25m back haul link to 2400 baud. It's easy to do in DW. Also consider enabling FX.25 on that link. You'll get great performance. The signal link devices won't support 9600 baud packet due to the built in isolation transformers. Once again, you got a great setup. I'm a big fan of packet!
Just got my packet radio setup Over the weekend it is old technical but I like it,it is neat still learning. I like to see more people on it. Last year I got into APRS this year packet radio . now I got APRS DIGIPEATER , APRS Radio in the mobile and HT. NOW packet radio. Not much around here but there's a few , like to see more. Over the years ham radio has become lazy. There is a lot of licensing people around. But just a few uses there license.
I have a similar question, more though along the lines have steps to get direwolf working with the sound interface and the external TNC? I would assume Direwolf would take care of transmit "collisions", though maybe not. @Jim Beno, any additional details you would be able to provide? I currently have two radios doing this, but that requires two antennas and I would love to combine it into one radio, one antenna.
You mentioned that you have slides detailing each step in your install process. I have been searching for months on how to do what you are doing. Unfortunately I keep running into broken links and outdated info. Thank you so much for the many hours of work you have put into this lost form of communication. Please share whatever you have. My current setup is a build a pi digirig and vhf radio. I also have an aredn node. You can find me on winlink. KQ4CIN

Love this video! Studying for my tech ticket & this is great motivation!

Hi Jim! Thanks for the great presentation. Did you make a video for the stetp by step packet node build?
Thank you for this very informative presentation. How can i get a copy of this presentation? Thank you for sharing this information.
How do the 710's handle both sides trying to transmit at once?

Can you run any of this on the BSD’s?
To answer 1 of he questions, the Raspberry Pi 4 has a quad-core 64-bit CPU.
