This is exactly what I’ve been looking for. I thought I was crazy. Gamepass is garbage now. We need to promote this video and post as much as possible. The NFL is becoming greedy again. If we don’t hold these corporates feet to the fire Will get an inferior product over and over. This happens to every great company, they bring in consultants to see how they can make more money on everything and so some penny pincher probably told them to monetize that content in three or four different apps. These are not inconvenient issues these were the reason we bought the damn subscription
Becoming greedy again? They never stopped! Theyre making money regardless so they can tweak and fuck with it as much as possible I'm sure the revenue from GP isnt nearly enough to warrant genuine interest in customer satisfaction
The biggest way to say fuck you to the NFL is to NOT PURCHASE THE PRODUCT ANY LONGER. Vote with your dollars. Circumvent the NFL and get the footage some other way.. I guarantee you it is out there.
Good to know Brett and I share your frustration! Between your channel and Brett's I get most of my best football info. Yall should collaborate on some content with the International Gamepass!
This issue was the bane of my existence for a month. Hate the new changes. I had to get international gamepass and a VPN just to watch coaches film. Also cost me around 300 dollars. Complete joke. Great video, NFL fans and writers need to hold them more accountable
So do you have to VPN and "buy" the service overseas to use it that way? I have the US version and tried connecting to a VPN in the EU, and it wouldn't even let me login to my existing account.
Congrats on ending the postseason victory drought! Should've happened in 05, but the NFL had to rig the Steelers a title, so Jerome bettis could depart on his swan song...
I wanted to cancel my subscription as GamePass now on DAZN. They (DAZN) will not let me have GamePass now as I'm now in a country that they do not let people have access to their service, even if you have a GamePass subscription (Taken in my former Country) I have tried to cancel my subscription but cannot access the site to do so, This is a disgusting state of affairs for such a huge company to be doing this to customers.
I live in Mexico and Gamepass has been awesome the past 2 years I've been subscribed. I don't remember which game but late in this season I remember the RedZone host saying something like "For our national viewers we'll send you to the CBS broadcast, international viewers you can keep watching here with us" and I was like damn, why do they give their main audience the worst version of their product? Then I remember when the chargers were still in SD (I live in Baja 50 minutes away from SD) they would black out the local games unless the stadium sold out IIRC, and we couldn't watch it on CBS or FOX so we just switch channels to Fox Spots Mexico. It certainly has it's perks living outside the US lol.
Yeah they do that in Jacksonville still and used to in Miami I'm not sure if they still do. Wanna watch the game but don't have money for tickets? Or maybe you're physically unable to go to the game? It's such a scam
THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS!! I have no idea how this scam is never talked about. 3/5 main selling points on their OWN ADS barely function. The Sunday Ticket is hardly better.
Sunday ticket for the asking price is shit as well, I purchased it this season with the student discount to try it out and was not impressed at all. No choice of resolution, horribly outdated UI, and the quality overall of the footage seemed to be really bad (compared to what other steaming services offer). Oh and it’s only Sunday games.
As a developer, I'd love it if my users posted such a well made video describing issues with my systems... I hope those working at the NFL realize what a jewel of feedback you gave them and do something about it. That said, I'd rather chop my fingers off before letting my product be so bad it inspires videos about how bad it is
You should be a soccer fan in the UK, the cost to watch every game is £858 for the year to have all the streaming services. Not to mention that half the games arent even on UK tv because of an outdated law!
The UI of gamepass is straight up ass. Half the time it can't recognize that I am a subscriber even after I sign in and I have to reload the page multiple times until it register that I paid $100 dollars for this shit. Then each page within the website seems like it has to load 3 different times before I can finally interact with it. Seems like every week the replays take longer to upload, especially the all-22. Not resubscribing unless they fix all of the above at LEAST. No matter the cost, the extremely wealthy NFL can afford to fix it. Hold them accountable please!
Damn this blows. Last year I went through the entire seasons all 22 while working out and it was a blast and the most I've learned from watching football ever. Oh well I guess the NFL doesn't want my money this year.
2013: I had a free season of NFL Sunday Ticket with purchase of Madden 25 2014: I paid through the teeth to get Sunday Ticket last time I'd ever did this. 2015: I paid $99.99 for NFL Game Pass and didn't get to see Packers live but I did get access to all games in no huddle style. Cool, but not being able to watch games live drove me nuts. 2016: Watched NFL Games with Reddit Streams 2017: Watched NFL Games with Reddit Streams 2018: Reddit Streams shut down moved to Buff Streams 2019: Buff Streams again 2020: Found best stream site no pop ups *Stream East* 2021: *Stream East* Best thing NFL, NBA and even UFC PPV!!! 2022: *Stream East* Gonna ride this pony as long as she will go!!!
Basically you just outlined how major corporations end up frustrating their audience and pushing them towards...certain other sites. The plethora of streaming services trying to compete with Netflix made it hard to find a favorite shows and suddenly piracy was back on the rise. With greed comes the backlash
I've also had issues with scrubbing leading to spoilers. For whatever reason when I watch a recent game, if I scrub at all or skip 10 seconds forward or backwards it just skips to the 4th quarter. That's just unbelievably frustrating.
It's kind of weird that there's such a massive difference between the national and international version of "the same product", and I can absolutely understand feeling pissed at that gutted product. As a foreigner I pretty much only use it just to catch live games and games on demand, since I life in Europe and the sport streaming services only have a couple different games each week. Also, only 99 USD per year? Damn. I pay almost three times as much for the international version.
I didn’t know about those issues, as I use it primarily for the “every snap of the game” condensed version. But this last weekend for both the Bucs v Rams and the Chiefs v Bills game they just decided to start REMOVING PLAYS!! I was so pissed. If I wanted just the highlights I would go to RUclips. Thanks for the content bro I really appreciate you getting this info out there. Hopefully they fix this.
As a non-UA customer I've been fine with Game Pass - certainly beats trying to find a half decent (and not even half legal) stream and hoping it doesn't disappear half way through... Which was about the only way to watch games here in Europe before Game Pass. The feature I'm sad we no longer have is being able to subscribe to only one team's games. That was superb. You can oonly see your designated team's games, but at a considerably lower price. For me the current system - no one-team subscription - is rather costly, because I don't watch many games other than my own team's. But that's still the best option I have... I understand that they are important and very useful features, but I personally don't care about a lot of features like search and all-22, as I've never needed them. But their usefulness is obvious.
When will be the time when we can see multiple games not in "service area" and see from all camera angles? I just want to watch it from the film perspective and be able to actually watch the teams I want to see. And no I don't want to switch to dish just to do that lol.
Ill be canceling at the end of the season. My biggest complaint as a general NFL fan is that they don't remove the broadcast ads in a timely manner. I used to watch the full games a few hours after they played and there were not ads. Now even if I watch a few days after the ads are still there. Save your money and get an antenna and a DVR.
Thanks for sheading more light on this, I was so excited for the season to start months ago because I was gonna get GamePass. After the first month I just canceled my subscription with the hope things would change. Very disappointing from the NFL.
Thank you! It was basically unusable and completely frustrating. Most people subscribed for the coaches film and they completely ruined it! I won’t subscribe again next season, if it’s the “new version”.
One of the worst "features" of this new version of Game Pass is that they are very slow to remove the commercials from the games... I watched the Packers/49ers game 2 days after it was played and i still had to fast forward past the commercials
As a software engineer and some who who host side projects as well. I bet it also (but not entirely) has to do with the fact that they weren’t able to make that search very efficient and hosting 22 versions of the same play would also be expensive. I’m not sure if the NFL out sources their software or not as yes, it’s cheaper to hire someone from a third world country but what you realize is that it’s often not very efficient and you end up paying more for compute and storage. I wouldn’t be surprised if that happened to them as well as all the other things people are mentioning.
That being said, it’s not like someone from a 3rd world is just not capable, but typically the capable ones end up coming to the US. Though there has been a move to hire more in those places and allow people to stay. However, it’s probably hard for the NFL to compete with Google, Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, etc when it comes to the best talent.
Great video. NFL needs to step their game up. Btw I think they are doing themselves a disservice with the $100 a year thing. Even if it’s a discount it just sounds like so much more than 9.99 a month.
Coming from someone on the outside looking in: NFL or any "National" league within the states seems like a total business rather than actually caring about the sport or its people. Kinda reminds me of those memes, "pretends to be shocked" or Disappointed, but not shocked. Why continue features when you can just gut the product, have those same fans pay for it, and then within 2 years slowly add those features back in. Kinda like the Madden games. Great Video.
I have been a GameRewind/GamePass subscriber for several years and this has been frustrating. I tend to watch on a Roku, and the interface on that is even worse, and lags further behind on getting game videos ( not all-22, just a full game, or condensed ). I have been considering just watching game highlights on RUclips, but this is such a good time to be a Chiefs fan.
I enjoyed your rant and totally agree. I really liked it when I “cut the cord” and thought it was a pretty good value but holy shit, this past season was beyond horrible. Not even incrementally worse, WAY worse. But the same price? I’m done. Thanks! I really like your channel.
Maybe they don't completely remove these features, maybe they're gonna re-introduce them as parts of a new subscription tier - and even more expensive one?
NFL game pass is the next Madden. Have a product with a bunch of useful features, then remove those feature for no reason only to get them back, an unspecified amount of time later
I do think that the loss is more on the side of any content creator, like assessing draft picks over the years, which is a loss for the community as a whole.
Thank you for this video! Now back to me logging in to my account and finishing evaluating the Titans D and turn my attention to 49ers/Packers matchup.
As a longtime NFL fan in Mexico, I used to use a VPN to access the US version of the service because it was just better. Had more content, All-22, etc. Then those features finally made it into the international version and one day they were just gone from the US one. And also the price went down to match the American version, Game Pass international used to be over 1500 USD a year, ridiculous stuff.
This was my first year subscribing to nfl gamepass. I had heard how good it was years prior to this last one, and I finally had the money to spend on it. I had purchased the year long package, as I had the full amount at the time. Then, it was all down hill from there. Just trying to watch back past broadcasts was annoying. Don't even get me started on trying to watch all-22. It is a complete nightmare to navigate. I had given up on my goal of studying the game more this year, and expanding my football knowledge by week 6 of the season. I sometimes went back to it to watch past Bengals games that aired at the same time as Broncos games, but that was about it. By the time the regular season started, it was too late to get a refund. It felt like I lit $100+ on fire. Sure, I could've tried harder to watch all-22 and use the service, but to spend $100+ on something that constantly upsets me, and waste more time than anything just isnt worth my mental sanity. Took a huge L with that purchase, and I might go for the UK version next football season if no drastic changes are made to that version.
Formula 1 did this concept perfectly. you can choose to look at any driver's camera at any point, watch the broadcast, watch individual cameras around the track, choose what audio you want to listen to (i.e. individual team radio with drivers or just listen to the commentators), there's even an option to watch a virtual overhead view that tracks the location of each driver on the track. I hope the NFL does this for game pass when each player inevitably has a built in helmet cam
They need to add replays of every game all the way back to the merger. The app as it is is super buggy too. I’ll go to select a game from 2010 then it zaps it back to 2021 sometimes right before I make the selection. This only scratches the surface of the problems. Several games from 2009-2013 aren’t even on there…
Gamepass Intl user here ... I think it's shady AF that you cannot unclick auto-renew subscription during the season, and they choose one day to send you an email notifying you that you have a small window of time to un-check auto-renew, and if you didnt see the email, your credit card gets charged. That's like early era internet porn site scams. Also weird that you can't change your email address. I'm pretty sure the software developers is an NFL owner's nephew. Oh, they try to make us pray extra during games for red zone, etc. The earliest version was the best ... choose your resolution, picture-in/picture-out. Their tech support ... the problem is on your end.
I've subscribed since they first started the service, primarily to get the All-22. The interface was great - you could see the play with the field view then the EZ view with a shot of the scoreboard. You could also see all the plays on the side and simply click on the play you wanted without scrolling the browser. The iPad version had the ability to put in arrows and stuff on the screen. Like most people are saying, they are making it difficult for content creators. After seeing their revamped POS I now believe they will debut a "content creator" version which will be much more costly and will have some sort of legal stuff where they can kick you out if they don't like your content. Just speculation of course, but the NFL doesn't do something without a revenue plan.
The update makes it unusable. You either crash upon opening the app, or you're always having connection problems no matter how strong your connection is. They also make it a pain to unsubscribe.
I had just bought gamepass so I could begin film breakdown on all-22 film. Literally 3 days after I bought it they took it away. Most definitely WONT be re-subscribing until they add these features back.
Thank you for making this. There's also no more slow-mo by pressing the S key, and when you use arrow keys to skip/rewind, this annoying black line shoots through the middle of the screen
Hey, I tried to message this on your Discord, but apparently it doesn’t work like that. Which defense do you think was better, the ‘85 Bears on 2000 Ravens
I'm in Australia and we get every game live pre season regular season and playoffs. Lots of stuff behind the scenes but I see alot of Americans complaining about what they get and I totally understand that. Wish the nfl would step it up and provide the people who watch the most nfl the same package
Excellent video, I've never bought Game Pass due to how much it costs. Also, it barely works when I use the free version. Why would I pay $100 for something I'm not confident would work?
I live in the uk and only started using this a few years ago. It works out at about £140 a year for us over year (about $180) BUT we only get the sky games over here. Which is one game at every kick off time. However the prime time games are too later to watch. With the cost for sky taken into account, the price of this game pass in the UK is INSANE value for money. I can watch my team live no matter what (unless prime time) and if I miss them I can catch up through the week. I get pretty much all the games (every one except sky game) so I can watch a game every night of the week. There’s no other way to watch all the games over here so I don’t feel like I’m being scammed 😂
Everybody PLEASE share this. Get this trending on Twitter. The NFL has made it clear they don't give a shit about their fans as long as they're still making money. The only way this will get fixed is if enough people complain to the point where the NFL thinks people are gonna stop paying for the service. If you care about American football I BEG you to make this a big deal
Yeah the literal reason I torrent is so I don't need to deal with this BS. Literally if redzone was a constant price and you don't need like the direct TV sports package + direct TV NFL package who's prices are constantly changing, I would likely buy and retain redzone, but these companies make everything a nightmare I just don't want to be a part of it.
What?? The US version does not have the Live Broadcast??? MAN I'm from Mexico and the only reason why I have chosen GamePass for the last 5 years is the live broadcast of all games. Otherwise, I would had to stick to what the mexican TV selects as the sunday game or my local broadcast (near Brownsville TX, always Dallas/Houston and SNF) and obviously, my Falcons games are NOT the first choice. Now, I can watch every game as I want live.

Man, I would love to pay 100. Here in Germany it cost 185 $.
@@toledoseahawks3348 I think it's the same in my country, but I used a VPN and bought it from India or Pakistan (i think), making it 100$.

Fucking THANK YOU
Good to know Brett and I share your frustration! Between your channel and Brett's I get most of my best football info. Yall should collaborate on some content with the International Gamepass!
How come you don't get a checkmark??
This issue was the bane of my existence for a month. Hate the new changes. I had to get international gamepass and a VPN just to watch coaches film. Also cost me around 300 dollars. Complete joke. Great video, NFL fans and writers need to hold them more accountable
So do you have to VPN and "buy" the service overseas to use it that way? I have the US version and tried connecting to a VPN in the EU, and it wouldn't even let me login to my existing account.
Thank goodness someone is finally bringing light to this.
Congrats on ending the postseason victory drought! Should've happened in 05, but the NFL had to rig the Steelers a title, so Jerome bettis could depart on his swan song...
@@elijahechicagobearsboyd5734 it should’ve happened in 2015 too lol we’ve been waiting too damn long to see our bengals in the Super Bowl
man as an international gamepass user(germany) i did not know how bad this is in the US and now i am scared at what will happen to us as well! 🙈
Noone is forcing you to buy it, don't like it don't buy it.
That said, I'd rather chop my fingers off before letting my product be so bad it inspires videos about how bad it is
Probably has something to do with upper management to be honest and the actual employees making the product have no say in it.
You should be a soccer fan in the UK, the cost to watch every game is £858 for the year to have all the streaming services. Not to mention that half the games arent even on UK tv because of an outdated law!
God I love piracy
You mean football
@@pascho1057 Yes, but this is an nfl page. Clears up any confusion
@@cartman659 including Amazon prime as well!
WTF that's like 1000 usd
The UI of gamepass is straight up ass. Half the time it can't recognize that I am a subscriber even after I sign in and I have to reload the page multiple times until it register that I paid $100 dollars for this shit. Then each page within the website seems like it has to load 3 different times before I can finally interact with it. Seems like every week the replays take longer to upload, especially the all-22. Not resubscribing unless they fix all of the above at LEAST. No matter the cost, the extremely wealthy NFL can afford to fix it. Hold them accountable please!
Let's not forget that the broadcast for the Bills-Chiefs Divisional Round game was cut off right when overtime started.
Another thing that wasn’t mentioned in the video: they completely removed the radio replay, literally one of my favorite features
its gone from the international version as well, i used to love that feature so i could listen to the local 49ers radio guys
This.
The game ass thumbnail might be one of the best thumbnails i've seen and love Thundercat in the background
Damn this blows. Last year I went through the entire seasons all 22 while working out and it was a blast and the most I've learned from watching football ever. Oh well I guess the NFL doesn't want my money this year.
2013: I had a free season of NFL Sunday Ticket with purchase of Madden 25
2014: I paid through the teeth to get Sunday Ticket last time I'd ever did this.
2015: I paid $99.99 for NFL Game Pass and didn't get to see Packers live but I did get access to all games in no huddle style. Cool, but not being able to watch games live drove me nuts.
2016: Watched NFL Games with Reddit Streams
2017: Watched NFL Games with Reddit Streams
2018: Reddit Streams shut down moved to Buff Streams
2019: Buff Streams again
2020: Found best stream site no pop ups *Stream East*
2021: *Stream East* Best thing NFL, NBA and even UFC PPV!!!
Stream east is good but buffers slow at times and hate its behind by sometimes a whole half hour but I use it all the time
Crackstreams better
Gaben said it best. “Piracy is a service problem”
@@John-wb1ny blessed Gaben. But sadly even valve's products are trending in this direction
I've also had issues with scrubbing leading to spoilers. For whatever reason when I watch a recent game, if I scrub at all or skip 10 seconds forward or backwards it just skips to the 4th quarter. That's just unbelievably frustrating.
Set the Edge hit that 200k subs. Congrats bro, you constantly kill it with the content. Looking forward to when you hit 300k
The condensed version of the weekend's Bill's game started with 3rd down only.
To be honest, the international version is far from flawless as well, but it stuns me, what the US get in their "GamePass"
Thumbnail caught me off guard
Ill be canceling at the end of the season. My biggest complaint as a general NFL fan is that they don't remove the broadcast ads in a timely manner. I used to watch the full games a few hours after they played and there were not ads. Now even if I watch a few days after the ads are still there. Save your money and get an antenna and a DVR.
Fr they used to have that on the international Gamepass too now it takes weeks
Good vid! Please don't apologize for bringing to our attention something football related we may not have known.
I love that this channel went from analysis and story telling to blatantly shit talking the NFL
Damn I thought for sure when you mentioned the VPN option you were gonna segue into a VPN ad. Good job not selling out dude, love your work
One of the worst "features" of this new version of Game Pass is that they are very slow to remove the commercials from the games...
I think that’s the point, the more expensive option “looks” cheaper
Love the MIDI version of Thundercat in the background, and every Set the Edge video I’ve ever watched!
Not to mention having ads on the full replay even though they have the ad-free versions after the game is over.
I am SO glad you made this video. I've had these gripes for months and couldn't find anyone else talking about it
Exactly! Making your ads load full HD with no problem and no lag, over your content, is ridiculous.
Classic NFL behavior they've done the same shit with Madden for decades.
The update is a dream come true for us that have always wanted subtitles in comic sans.
6 months later, NFL+ is here now.
Wish I had this video idea. Excellent breakdown of everything wring with the product.
NFL game pass is the next Madden.
Have a product with a bunch of useful features, then remove those feature for no reason only to get them back, an unspecified amount of time later
I do think that the loss is more on the side of any content creator, like assessing draft picks over the years, which is a loss for the community as a whole.
Oh man, when I cancelled my subscription on the nfl app there was so much double speak. Ridiculous how hard the try to hold onto every penny.
I just watched the highlights of Rams-Bucs on YT because the condensed game on Gamepass crapped out on me five times in the first few minutes.
Quality videos every time man!!!
We do apologize for any inconvenience
The update makes it unusable. You either crash upon opening the app, or you're always having connection problems no matter how strong your connection is. They also make it a pain to unsubscribe.
I was expecting a different kind of video with this thumbnail…but I’m not disappointed
I also like when they show that the game went into OT. I love it won the first four quarters are inconsequential!
Oh damn, I was just about to pay for game pass, Glad I came to RUclips for the reviews first. Thanks for this video
I had just bought gamepass so I could begin film breakdown on all-22 film. Literally 3 days after I bought it they took it away. Most definitely WONT be re-subscribing until they add these features back.
The Thubdercat cover as background music really ties the video together😩🤌🏽
Thank you for making this. There's also no more slow-mo by pressing the S key, and when you use arrow keys to skip/rewind, this annoying black line shoots through the middle of the screen
Hey, I tried to message this on your Discord, but apparently it doesn’t work like that. Which defense do you think was better, the ‘85 Bears on 2000 Ravens
The thing I miss is the local radio broadcast of games
Excellent video. I've had gamepass for 4 years and probably won't be renewing next year
Im a bit new to the channel and my god every video has fantastic music put into it! Just hearing the Binding of Isaac shop theme made me happy alone
a rise and fall of the Vikings (from 2017 and the miracle to today) would slap really hard
I know I'm 6 months late but the 100 dollar one you can't even watch every game some are just disabled
I know Set The Edge is a football channel, but the same discussion can be had about NBA League Pass and MLB.TV as well.
I'm from Mexico and had no idea US gamepass was so bad, because here helps lots the fans that like teams not so popular
What’s crazy is that no games before 2009 are available
I’m glad I watched this before signing up. Saved me $100. Thanks
All of this and people are surprised that others illegally stream the games
Everybody PLEASE share this. Get this trending on Twitter. The NFL has made it clear they don't give a shit about their fans as long as they're still making money. The only way this will get fixed is if enough people complain to the point where the NFL thinks people are gonna stop paying for the service. If you care about American football I BEG you to make this a big deal
Yeah the literal reason I torrent is so I don't need to deal with this BS. Literally if redzone was a constant price and you don't need like the direct TV sports package + direct TV NFL package who's prices are constantly changing, I would likely buy and retain redzone, but these companies make everything a nightmare I just don't want to be a part of it.
its way more expensive in finland but at least we get live games
I am most pissed about the no spoiler function not working. when I click on games now i get the result.....
