      Yes it was. The first game at Shea - for ANY sport in NYC - was very sparse. I wish I went to that game. BTW - this was the game where Mike Piazza hit the home run that started the healing in NY. Sadly, Ken Burns ignored this in his updated Baseball documentary. The Braves were all class that night and took the loss with grace.

    • @richiemartinez103

      That 100 loss Pirate team had decent attendance that year due to the opening of the new stadium but the fear was real when only 6,000 people showed up for the Mets final homestead at Shea against the Pirates. Those were lows that the Mets hadn't seen since the late 70's.

    I respect our National Anthem and that duo singing it and for their service... but, did they not have time to rehearse it together at least a couple times to at least sing in tune with each other???

    • @ed4096
      @ed4096 4 года назад

      @That Flippin Guy Odd response and misuse of the Karen meme. They were both obviously singers albeit amateur but so what, no problem. They had good vocals. Which is why I wondered why they wouldn't have rehearsed it together at least once, if not a few times, to identify and immediately work on the out of tune and out of sync parts.
      So, to answer your question... it was ok with me but it could've _easily_ been so much better. Is that ok with you, dummy? You dummy.

    • @ed4096
      @ed4096 4 года назад +1

      @That Flippin Guy I didn't complain about either of their vocal ranges. I didn't "deflect". I _directly addressed_ the very thing you had an issue with. Explain exactly what you think I'm deflecting and I will directly respond to it.
      You can add "deflection" to your list of not understanding and misuse of relatively simple concepts.

But like I said you are using a national tragedy to push a agenda against kneeling for the anthem that was in protest to what they felt was injustice. I'm sure if they took away your precious guns you be wanting to protest right? No different. In the constitution, freedom of protest, expression and speech. So get out here with your bullshit narrative, forcing square pegs In round holes.

    Bunch of tough guys with negative comments. Lets remember and get along. That goes much further in keeping things like this from happening. The worst national event of my short life was 9/11 but on 9/12 we were the most American we have ever been. Black, white, purple, orange, yellow, for one day we represented this country as one.

  • @joepanza297

    This is why you don’t kneel

    • @thomasc.5219
      @thomasc.5219 5 лет назад +4

      Why cause it's in the constitution? Freedom of expression is a standard freedom America was based on. Being against it is being against the constitution itself. Plus you are comparing apple and oranges. To a national tragedy vs injustice people were against. So if you wanna live in a state of control that you must bow to a flag. Then go to North Korea, I'll keep my freedom and excersise my right to protest, expression and speech.

      So you wouldn't show your appreciation in the slightest for those rights? Its not the flag we salute its the people who died to keep it flying while being fired upon by the entire British navy.
      Listen to the words in the Anthem.

    • @thomasc.5219
      @thomasc.5219 5 лет назад +3

      @@knightscroftsquire-muldoon you can show appreciation and the guys who kneeled still showed appreciation. Kneeling isnt the same thing as burning a flag. It was made Into a bigger deal than it ever had to be. And listen to the words? Ahhhhhh I think everyone knows the words and most know what they mean. But the song wasnt written even in the time frame it speaks of. You act like it was written under fire. All I'm saying is that this country allows people to protest. It's in the constitution, so denying people the right to do that is unpatriotic. You want freedom than you need to accept people will not do everything you want them to do and disagree with your opinions.
      Also on a separate note. I'm not one to hero worship soldiers just because they joined. Yes the vast majority deserve respect but there are many who dont. I have met quite a few servicemen that you would never leave your kids alone with and some that are no better than psychos with a uniform on. Hate me for it but idc. Just cause you wear a uniform it doesnt automatically make you a hero. How you act when wearing that uniform is what makes the man.
