    There’s a lot of cars out there where majority of people say you can only have it as a manual that I personally think nah auto is still fine but 110% agree with you that you can’t have a Rx7 with an auto. Not only does it not seem right but also loose so much potential of the car and especially the motor. Great review as always

    Looks like that car is not making boost at all. You're driving an NA FD RX7. Still not a bad thing, ha. When running properly though, they feel fast... even stock.

  • @vyets
    @vyets 3 года назад +3

    Hey bud, the car feels slow because its not getting full boost. Can just see it on the boost gauge, common problem with the rx7 as the vac lines get frail and leak.

    • @RossReviewsau

      that makes sense! as i was sure something was up with it being that slow

      Yeah the vac lines and solenoids were a problem.. changed mine twice. The sequentials are nice when it works although i think a single turbo would have been better. I ended up going parallel with the setup and problems solved.

    12A manual
    I had it as a share car from new.
    Yes that was something mates did in the 70s.
    We sold it on, not because of thrashing the ring out of it......body rust was worse than any HZ Holden.
    Good times.

  • @gregpieris4478

    A. The turbos are not different sizes. The primary turbo provides boost first, then both equally sized turbos work in tandem. B. Sunroof is not a rare option. It is an aftermarket modification. C. The 0-100 time is due to (a) it's a lower power 255ps model; (b) boost issues. it probably hasn't been well maintained. With over 100,000km, the solenoids are likely due for replacement.

    Some motorsport history, this generation RX-7 won the Bathurst 12hr 3 years in a row (1992 to 1994) and also won the Eastern Creek 12hr (1995) making it 4 years in a row where it was untouchable. As a road car they have ZERO torque down low even with the sequential turbo set up, they were never meant for daily driving in stop start traffic, that said on the racetrack? you can keep the rotary spinning out to 8,000rpm all day every day in 2nd and 3rd gear into and out of corners and then down the straights.
