How to cut short hair. In this video I help you take the fear out of cutting short haircuts. I have learned in my experience that doing short haircuts can be very difficult and can cause stylists to freak out. In this tutorial I share my haircut techniques that can help you overcome doing short haircuts on women, like pixie or crop haircuts.

It's so hard to find someone who can cut short hair properly. I've been to so many stylists and I walk away unhappy every time. This is a haircut I'd be happy with. love how everything is so blended and soft but still has that edge look to it❤️

Thank you SO much for this wonderfully instructional video. My husband and I watched it a couple of times before he set to work cutting my hair for the very first time. I'm not comfortable returning to a salon yet due to the COVID-19 pandemic. My last haircut was a nicely done short pixiecut in Tucson, Arizona. This was 18 weeks ago. My husband did such a nice job at cutting my hair. Feeling confident, he told me today that he'll be happy to continue as my stylist!
Brilliant...I’ve had short hair since I was 28... grey thick coarse Poovey in the summer, in the fall and winter very much affected by humidity.
I always wanted to be a hair designer but when into management . I’m 66 now n still Love to watch your tutorials.
Through the years I’ve had periodically had to find a new hair designer.
The designer who cuts my hair now cuts my hair exactly like you just did. She was a master barber before she went to beauty school I came upon her purely by accident. The young man ( hip salon $70 + tip)who was cutting my hair had to reschedule my haircut and I was going out of town so I needed a haircut....she works in a small salon that is been around for years and I thought what the hell I’ve have bad haircuts I’ll just suffer through.
I wear my hair different ways n have Women asked me where I get my haircut all of the time.
Keep up the good work there are so many designers out there that just don’t have a clue and if they would watch you they could become such a success!

Back after 7 months for redo. Listen to this guy carefully, especially at 10:35 and 12:00. The confidence comes from being shut in during a world-wide pandemic where nobody can see your results and your oopsies have time to grow back! (joke) Good instructor: No BS or trying to "entertain" you... Take notes as a **sequence** of independent steps. Worked for us! Very grateful for your help.

That's what I need, take the fear out of cutting short hair. It's COVID-19 lock down and my wife wants me to cut her hair! I have a new set of clippers and RUclips to guide me. Your video is a big help. Pray for me that she doesn't kill me afterwards :-)

I believe the problem is how we associate hair with gender. This is just a hypothesis but I think we kind of categorize haircuts in a way that changes our thought process during haircuts. And when women want short cuts we kind of panic because it feels conflicting. I am generally afraid of mens cuts because I've had barely even a few male clients to work/train on. And I will be taking my license exams soon so I'll have to force myself to find male models.

Wow! This is SUPER helpful. I've been really struggling with my at home cuts. You covered so many of my unknown areas. I'm going to use it tonight!
Oh! If my hairdresser used a shaver - except for the bottom back of the neck - I'd scream! My hairdresser is very good but lately she's been cutting the sides in a way that grow outwards rather than downwards, as I prefer. She uses scissors only. So hard to get the message through, especially to the young ones.

Use a light colored comb when cutting dark hair. Better contrast on video. Just a suggestion.

Hy! I like this hairstyle, but I would like to see, if it can be shorter on the front. :)
I have short hair, something like this in the video, but I want shorter, especially in the front, because that is the part, that bothers me first, when it reaches my eyes (which usually happen after about 1,5-2 months). So I would like to go shorter on this hairstyle, with baby bangs-ish front, but I can't find a good video, or picture about it, and in this way I can't show it to my hairdresser, only to explain it.
