"it's not about film, it's not about the camera.. you know, but it's about life and it's about these people and about these moments..that's what photography is about." That inspires me on so many levels. There are so many reviews online about the best film and the best camera but this dude is about the bona fide moments of everydayness that make existence so intriguing. I love it. Thank you for this piece.
True that. I guess for some people, it's easier to review something physical and tangible. Spec sheets, test shots on microdetails can only get you so far. The 6 inches behind and in front of the camera are the most important things.
I will always believe/preach that he is the greatest and most hardworking photographer that we have. Period! Been following for years and I always will. He's so humble, and amazing. So inspired!!!
Gioncarlo Valentine he’s definitely top-tier, but the use of words like the greatest and hardest working is subjective. he’s great , no doubt ! but not the greatest
I was legit trying to remember his name yesterday. I remember seeing his pics on IG and DAMN. I just sold my Hasselblad 500cm and I'm on the lookout for my first Leica!!
I can't stop watching this video ... I use the same process of gelatine silver print, I'not at your level...not at all...but your style is so inspiring to me...I wish I had the opportunity to know everything about your work...chimicals, kind of paper, enlarger, process....everyrhing!!!!
Awesome work and really inspiring! So much is said about 'technique' or 'sharpness' but here is a man shooting 'subjects' and creating really powerful images, great work...
Great work man very personable, strong and awesome keep it up bro god bless we definitely need more strong and positive Black images and Black photographers
Dude, idk how I found this video but for reals tho... I would love to get your ideas about a zine I'm trying to get off the ground. I'm trying to capture an independent view off the of what it means to be 'Nebraska Nice' I'm a Latino hipster but proud to be a home grown homie. I would love any advice, ideas, and what kinda images that comes off being a home grown minority in the beef state ?
So dope. I've always wanted to get in to street photography. I want to know how to ask people like permission and how do you get the ok to post the pictures if people don't say it's ok? That's what I am trying to better understand.
On the streets there is no permission needed. Just be respectful. He's shooting film so he can't just delete a photo. If they ask, try to explain what you see and why you took the picture. BE BOLD

Hi! May I know what camera was use?
Leica M6
1:05 is the best part
Did you use x100f to click pictures in this video
Oh You use film
Photography is coming to life in photos art is realistic
What is the name of the other photographer. Sounded like Roy Nicaragua. About 5:20
Roy DeCarava
Looks like those two dudes didn't like him for taking the picture. At 1:03.
It would be nice to walk up to people, greet them first and ask them if it’s okay to capture them on film. It’s plainly rude not to do so.
But you wouldnt be shooting street photography anymore and people start posing and the purity is gone
@@kreyolqueen2279 you are so wrong lmao
you remind me so much of Joe Wigfall ( one of the best )

Its not about film....its not about the camera.......(shoots with a Leica.....) 0.o
It’s about you the photographer and the tool you use to get the job done. His tool happen to be Leica, no more than a handyman might choose dewalt.
Ugh! Leica? Brooklyn? Race bait? Got it bro. Got it.
Piece of shit racist fuck
Don't photo people without their permission
but the goverment can film us at all times and thats oke right?
That's adorable. Move along

I agree. The long walk video was really boring.
Fuck off
