It's cool that you're finally getting into Nile. Very good death metal band. Here would be my ranking of their albums:
9. At the Gate of Sethu
8. Amongst the Catacombs of Nephren-Ka
7. Vile Nilotic Rites
6. What Should Not Be Unearthed
5. Black Seeds of Vengeance

2. In Their Darkened Shrines

Cool that in their darkened shrines is so high!
I’ve also slept on these guys. No particular reason, just too much good music and not enough time to hear it all. I actually heard “Annihilation of the Wicked” once about a year ago and really dug it but got distracted somehow, I’m definitely going to have to check out the rest of their stuff very soon!
Thanks for the great video as always! 🤘🤘
Definitely recommend checking them out now that I went through it all!
you're my new go-to guy for reviews since your tastes/opinions seem to jive with mine. Thanks for all the work, I realize this takes tons of time.🤘
Египтологи для меня - лучшая группа в мире!!! Аве Карл!!! 🥰🥰🥰💕🇺🇸🤘🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥
YES! My alltime favourite band. Happy you did a ranking of them. Cheers 🤘
Hell yeah!
Nile is an amazing band.............but they took a long time to grow on me. It was this year (2023) where I finally plunged into their catalog and started "getting them." My favorite current is Those Whom The Gods Detest, but Annihilation of the Wicked is a close second. Really awesome band that every metal fan should investigate.
1. Black Seeds of Vengeance
2. In Their Darkened Shrines
3. Annihilation of the Wicked
Absolutely stunning :) I love your charisma and energy so much! :)
Hey thanks ❤️
Great video! Just saw Nile last month🤘🏽 My ranking:

Very solid ranking here. Close to mine. Shrines is always my number 1
Nile is just a monstrous band. Karls vocals are just ruthless.
Yeah they’re so sick!
Just getting into these guys also, incredible stuff! I'll have to come back with my rankings.
Do it!!

DUDE what timing, I just got Annihilation of the Wicked on vinyl, I love this band! They’re beyond amazing at their craft, seeing them live is something every metalhead must do, must!

Im relatively new to them as well but I saw a video from Sea of Tranquility about them and he and his guest convinced me to check them out and now they're one of my favourite extreme metal bands.
Hell yeah! They rule dude
Nice review.....I'm really surprised that you chose the latest release yo be your favorite record. Thats a hot take lol. But I understand kind of. Its very good. It actually doesn't feature Dallas on guitar like many others so still surprising its your favorite. But love the channel keep it up.
Thanks dude!
Thanks. Is that a Blood Incantation shirt?
Aye the only metal band I can think of from SC. Love them
True!
I was looking to see if you had a Nile ranking like yesterday. So my eyes widened when I saw this and I got a shot of dopamine
Lol hell yeah perfect timing!
@@pairofjeansreviews2034 I remember you saying archspire is your favorite technical death band despite being someone who isn’t really into the genre, but do you think nile is your favorite now? Also despite the archspire pfp, I don’t necessarily have a favorite, just curious
Interesting top spot. I'm with in writing them off for a long time and not really getting them. I wrote them off when I checked out black seeds and iphylic was getting mediocre reviews. Still not a big black seeds fan or the snake album's second half but the rest of their discography is pretty solid
I enjoyed all their albums honestly!
Nephren Ka is a personal favorite just because of how old school and raw the production is, I'm pretty biased towards OSDM, their demo is kinda like that too, raw and aggressive as fuck but, maybe not much of the songwriting you like from them,
Annihilation of the wicked is probably my favorite song writing wise,
It definitely has a cool take on OSDM
Can you rank Guttermouth records. They are one of my favorite bands.
I’ll add them to the list!
hell yeah man.
nice list, imo there's no wrong way to rank their albums....I've been into them since nephren-ka came out, but I'd put annihilation at the top
Nice! I’m hoping to catch them live some day
I wouldn't even think about rating Catacombs that low. It's the most packed, straight-to-the-point, Nile album ever. Chief Spires and Karl Sanders are a perfect vocal duet, and Dallas Toler-Wade joining after release of Catacombs was an excellent addition!
But the highlight of this album for me is, and always will be drumming. Pete Hammoura has something that's really different from later Nile drummers, and his drum sound on Catacombs can crush a fucking Everest.
So, here is my ranking:
1. Amongst The Catacombs Of Nephren-Ka
2. Festivals Of Atonement
3. Worship The Animal (probably the only Nile album, where you can clearly hear a fucking bass guitar in the mix)
4. Black Seeds Of Vengeance
5. Every album that came after BSOV (and I'm saying this, despite the fact that the first ever Nile track I heard back in 2013, was "Kafir!")
I want to clarify something: Nile is an amazing technical brutal death metal band, don't get me wrong. And there always were awesome musicians in this band! I was kinda discovering their albums in reverse order, not intentionally, since 2013. And as the time went on, I found myself liking everything before ITDS a lot more...
Now I think the production and mixing, and sometimes just overall flow in certain albums is really questionable, thus making my ranking list what it is.
Quantized drums (it wasn't that obnoxiously apparent until WSBU).
Practically unaudible bass guitar since Ra knows, when. I just don't get why bass gets no love in Nile on every album that came out after Worship The Animal. Except for Black Seeds Of Vengeance, but bass in this album sometimes sounds really disjointed, even though its low-end is audible.
A LOT of ear-destroying mid-high frequencies - some might say that about reissue of WTA from 2011, but have you tried to listen to "The Blessed Dead" of ITDS at full volume? :D High-end from rhythm guitars, and drummer' cymbals from BOTH overhead mics and bleed into the snare mic is making your ear drums cry with plutonium. Ok, that's just me being picky about that particular album, even though it has UNBELIEVEABLE tracks in it xD
And talking about overall musical flow: Catacombs didn't have unnecessarily long musical interludes, it also didn't have songs titled like "Llanfair-something-something-Tysiliogogoch", it just began felt like a gimmick after a few albums with the same schematic for tracks' titles (even though, the idea of fans screaming the whole-ass title of "Papyrus Containing The Spell" or "Chapter Of Obeisance" at Nile show, requesting the band to play those songs, seems goddamn hilarious, and awesome too). Catacombs also didn't have too much technicality going on with the guitars, riffs were a lot more coherent, overall, on this album, for me personally.
So, yeah, my love for older albums is increased drastically, and that's why I, probably, would never give another listen to more recent Nile albums. Especially because of absence Dallas Toler-Wade in the band.
Calling At the Gates of Sethu paint by numbers seems a bit off for me. It’s the most different sounding of all their albums. Still a low ranking but very different sounding.
I have only heard 1 album by them. It was there first album and I really enjoyed it I liked about 8 songs on that album
Definitely go deeper in the discography!
I’m also planning on going deeper In there discography
Oh man. Amongst the Catacombs is my favorite of theirs. But they have like seven absolute killers. I think it’s the atmosphere on that one for me.
Amongst is such a cool record I love the interludes
I can't even rank them, they're all tied for #1. All incredible.
They all rule!
wait what ???? do you say erik rutan played for nile!!!?😳😳
Nonono lol Derek roddy played with hate eternal after his stint with Nile lol
how about autopsy ?
They’re on my list
Some of the best Death Metal out there.
