@@RedSummitRF much obliged Charlie but i still got a long way to go -- copying a fairly standard reply is a long way from rag chewing and im thinking just doin the POTA/Sota hunting maybe hampering me but fer now i havin a blast so what the heck lol ill get the rest later 73 Sir VE7JYD
Great video, Charlie! So I'm sure you know this now, but the left two buttons on the front of the radio control the keyer speed. Simply tap the left one to QRS, and the right one to speed up. There's a + and - above each button. Man...I just can't imagine hiking to a summit and finding a huge cactus! I really need to SOTA in the desert states sometime! Cheers, Thomas K4SWL
Yeah, I went in blind and was a little embarrassed when I got home and learned how easy it is to change cw speed. Desert does mix it up for us a bit! hahaha. Thanks Thomas!
What you Guys doing is just amazing and a big Inspiration to other HAMs to get their Butts out of their Shacks to explore and experience the Beauty of Mother Nature. Tnx for all you do for HAM Radio, Charlie & Dan. 73 de Uncle Günter 🙋♂
Yes - they have provided a way to change that though. I barrowed this radio again from my friends and it sounded more normal. But yeah, it was not a great sound haha!
That looks like a fun place to drive a wrangler for the fun of it. I am still amazed how small the KH1 is and easy to use too.
Yes, it's a fun off-roading location and the KH1 is great

Thank you so much Gunter!
Another fantastic video thanks 73 from kb2uew
Glad you enjoyed it
You can just get an alligator clip with some extra wire to get on 40 M, no need for another antenna. Thanks for the demo.
oh true. Tuners are wonderful!
Gorgeous Scenery! Can't remember the last time I saw trees on one of your summits lol!
LOL! True, I do mix it up and it has been a while.
I really like the KH1. I don’t much like the “built in” pen, but it 100% satisfies my requirements of a BUP (back up pen) and works in a pinch.
I wondered about that pen. I'm sure you saw that I log with my phone, so didn't have a chance to try it.
What are your thoughts on the sidetone?
The sidetone sounds like a cheap toy, but it doesn't annoy me all that much.
You're the bee whisperer.
How do they keep finding me!!!? haha

Thanks for watching and for your support of the channel!
The sidetone sounds awful !
Like a squarewave, not a nice pure sinewave tone.
