Wawa employee saves life of customer in need: 'There's a girl having a seizure in the bathroom'

- "It was a pretty normal day for a 16-hour shift," said Wawa employee John Wallop.
Wallop, 19, says he loves to work. He is especially enjoying his job behind the deli counter at Wawa on the corner of West Main and Sharp Streets in Millville, New Jersey. It puts money in his pocket while he finishes his senior year of high school.
But the particular double shift he worked on December 17, 2021, called for more work than he was used to.
"I was pretty tired," he said. "I was working on making sandwiches and two strangers ran up to me like, 'Hey, hey, there's a girl having a seizure in the bathroom.'"
Wallop, a fan of taking action and helping others, ran into the restroom to find a woman who was not breathing. Without hesitation, he implemented a CPR technique that he learned several years ago under the tutelage of his grandmother.

see kids ? this is the perfect example of good parenting. You can tell just by the way he speaks
I know this comment was coming from a good place, but it’s not cool to associate the way a black person speaks to their up bringing…
@@johnpalmercreates you totally missed the point
@@namenome3680 no, I think you are missing the point. Its kind of disrespectful to make this assumption. As I said, I know that it’s coming for a good place, but ppl rarely refer to white ppl as well spoken, especially a grown person. The assumption is that Black ppl are not usually “well spoken” and it is surprising to see it. The flip side of that is that we get treated poorly (on top of what we go through) when we do not speak in a specific way. It is assumed we have low intellect. I experience this constantly and see it within the community. This is a huge issue within the Black community and I suggest that if you know anyone who is Black that you ask them about this.
@@johnpalmercreates like i said before you totally missed the point.. nothing to do with race
@@namenome3680 when was the last time that you thought an adult white person was well spoken?
KUDOS to this young person - didn’t see color - instead a human in need; applied the appropriate relief and saved a life. Son, pursue your dreams - life can be good.

Okay so I’m still waiting for the part of how Wawa is honoring their employee. This young man stopped a customer from dying on their floor. And on his first day. And while working a 16hour shift. He should be getting something huge for this. I look forward to hearing of it.
Not on his first day. Nevertheless he did great.
Absolutely I am there with you on that how are they honoring a strong young man 16 hr shift role model employee role model for all young men he inspired me to be a better man I wish he was there to save my 19 year old son I lost him this young man is in need of

Great job mom, grandma and young man. I wish you all the best in life. Love from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.
YOU are the "MAN"!!!
🏆✨
FANTASTIC!
The teen said something really cool....said CPR should be taught in school. THAT'S BRILLIANT! Young as 'he' is, he learned it and look what resulted...a child's life was spared. I hope his suggestion IS made into reality and CPR is introduced to school students at a certain age and then reinforced each year going forward! GOD BLESS YOU, YOUNG MAN! : )
Fantastic!!!!!! .Finally a nice story about a good person.
The world needs more parents raising good kids like this one. Now it's time for wawa to step up and help this kid become the man he is on the path to be.
First good news I've heard out of Philly in a long time.

Great job young man 😊
This young man is a hero who was raised right by his family who should be immensely proud of him. The family should also take great pride in their role of shaping this young man.

This kid has a great heart! It’s so sad that he wants to join the Police and have that corrupted by the brotherhood mentality that ignores accountability and encourages dominance

That is smartest thing I've heard from a student "teach cpr in school". Instead of sexual orientation and critical race theory.

Two huge thumbs for have the skills, presence of mind, and courage to do the right thing. I wonder what the girl's status is and if that was a side effect of a covid shot. What he described is not an epilepsy fit, but much more like what we are seeing happen in sports events around the world with covid injected players dropping left and right from sudden heart failure.
All of the South American soccer teams dropped their "vaccine" mandates after that one star player dropped. Many airline pilots are, I have read, unvaxxed exactly because of the potential cardiac issues.
You heard a 2 second basic explanation of the situation and from that you’re assuming it’s a reaction from a vaccine? You anti vaxxer nuts always love playing the most wild mental gymnastics. Back hurts? IT WAS THE SECOND SHOT!!!! Forgot where you put your keys, SECOND SHOT MADE ME FORGET.
you guys are sad
You are using this story to spread lies about the Covid vaccine?! Wow, you anti-vaxxers are horrible people. You need help. Disgusting. (Reported as misinformation).
@@Fitz710 I got the second shot and within a few days developed tinnitus. 11 months later I still have it. It is not uncommon. Go ahead and look it up. I got covid recently anyway. I'll take having a cold over a lifetime of ringing in my ear. Covid shot complications are being seriously underreported and the risks minimized. The authorities claim that they are safe and effective, even for kids, in both the short and long term. They cannot know what the long-term effects are yet are making that claim. If they are lying about that, and they absolutely are because long-term effects cannot be known this soon after the shots introduction, how can we trust anything they say? It's like Fauci's early lies about masks; once you have failed the public trust, you can't regain it.
@@cvn6555 I got a booster everyone in my immediate family got a booster and we’re all fine. If we’re going purely off anecdotal experiences then by my experience of having multiple no reactions should negate your experience of having a minor reaction.
You’ve provided no proof of your experience other than some random guy on RUclips making a comment. You don’t provide any links you just say “look it up“. When you’re in school and you’re writing a paper you can’t just say look it up you have to provide sources for what you’re claiming.
I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if what your experience is purely a placebo from your crazy thoughts that you consistently have going through your head.
