    you know this is actually good, much better than 95% of sword fighting in high budget films today.

  • @NicholasGeschke

    To those die-hard fans of realistic sword fighting, these people are trying to be entertaining. They're not actually trying to hurt each other. The fact of the matter is, a real sword fight lasts less than a minute, if even that. That's not good for entertainment.
    I reiterate: These people aren't actually trying to kill each other.

      Well said. It also gets on my nerves when sword realists mock certain sword ideas (spin attack, blade lock, back scabbard, etc) for their impracticality in such a condescending way as if creators should not be allowed to express their artistic license in their work. Do not get me wrong, I have nothing against discussing about misinformation to warn sword novices. I just hate it when they make it seem that certain ideas should be repressed from fiction (even though fiction does not have to be bound to the limitations of our world. Just my philosophy). Sorry for such a long comment. I just wanted to express my frustration.

      ***** i've seen a real sword fight between 2 professional sword wielders and ur wrong it was half an hour and the guy had to give up because he was tired of carrying the sword his hands were red because of the hits on the sword

    • @cadethumann8605
      @cadethumann8605 9 лет назад

      Jaghmoum Fayez Interesting. Is there a video that shows the fight? I am not trying to sound rude. I am genuinely interested.
      Still though, this video is not meant to be taken 100% seriously and there is no need to be so critical over artistic swordsmanship in fiction (especially considering the fact that we no longer fight with swords in a real battle unless if one is stupid enough to do so).

    • @jaghmoumfayez5246
      @jaghmoumfayez5246 9 лет назад

      i'll try to look for it but what i saw was with my own eyes and i actully liked it it was a very intresting exp i'll try to look upa video of something like it because real swordsmanship uses martial art + sword art and not like we see in videos

    • @cadethumann8605
      @cadethumann8605 9 лет назад +1

      Jaghmoum Fayez OK then. Take your time. Being quite fond of sword fighting, it should be quite interesting to see two real life skilled swordsmen having an epic duel that only ends when one gives up.
      Although artistic swordsmanship can still be considered a sword art, just not in a practical sense in real life. It is, however, effective in entertaining the audience as well as help express the vision of the artist (also, on live stage fighting such as plays, swordsmanship that is too realistic can make the audience stop caring about the scene and begin to genuinely worry for the actors, so realistic swordsmanship could be distracting). However, opinions on art are subjective so lets agree to disagree. My apologies for the long comment and if I dragged on.

    Really awesome fight! I really liked how fast and fluid you made with the choreography. I was especially impressed by the amazing jump dodge when Blue jumped over Red's sword. The only thing I could nitpick is that in the shot where Blue kicked Red, it was only a short distance away. However, when they were running towards each other, they are quite far away from each other. Other than that, amazing work!

    well i'm not a sword professional but i know that spinning in a sword fight is asking to die but in defense of the anime characters that is MUCH STRONGER THAN THE SIZE ALLOWS you if you take a blow from a person like that and you are not with your feet firmly on the ground you can end up spinning, so these crazy spins would be the person trying to regain posture
