    • @laurieeno2118
      @laurieeno2118 3 года назад +1

      As someone who has battled those things chronically for years, I have had to develop a belief system that tells me my struggles are as valiant and important as those like Romee's. Not everybody survives cancer, and not everybody survives depression either. They are both considerably serious, and if you are still alive to fight, you are working hard and succeeding. No one asks for cancer, no one asks for depression. You need and deserve the same kind of support and encouragement as someone fighting cancer. Society will suggest that isn't true, but it is. You and your life matter exactly as they are.

      Yes, having had a stem cell transplant in December 2019 (for Myeloma which is incurable cancer of the bone marrow), it is Day 10 (after the actual transplant) to Day 20 which are the very toughest. I was in hospital for 5 weeks but eventually came home, hurray! It then takes quite a long time for your muscles to rebuild and about a year for your brand new baby immune system to mature. I returned home into full isolation because of the pandemic, so rebuilt my strength by walking up and down my corridor for a mile each day, though I started with 5 mins, and gradually over 4 months built to a mile. All worth it though, whilst the remission lasted!

      I've watched Tia's journey as well, she's such a beautiful person inside and out, so glad she's doing so much better! I do however wonder if the stem cell transplant is different when you are able to use your own vs a donor? Tia stem cell transplant seemed to go much different than Romee's although everyone's body handles things differently.

    • @dancebasedancer
      @dancebasedancer 3 года назад +1

      @@jessicawilkerson2417no the procedure is exactly the same. The only technical difference is that the stem cells in the bag, which is dripped into you, come from a donor in the case of a donor transplant. So of course there is a small chance of rejection with a donor, but this can also happen with your own stem cells. What IS different though, is the way each person's body handles and responds to the stem cells being infused, to the whole complex procedure, and how many infections you get, how you recover from the infections etc etc. So there are MANY many variables, but the actual procedure is not one of them, other than the contents of the bag of stem cells!

The rash is always along the sensitive exposed parts of my neck and chest where the sheets touch my skin at night. If someone is able to bring you a small throw blanket from home you could try using that underneath the sheets as a barrier to protect your skin. Wishing you good health and happiness moving forward :)

    The smell of the solution that the stem cells are stored in will stay with me forever, the solution they used here in the UK at the time smelt like canned sweetcorn, 2 had stem cells on the same day and the whole hospital smelt revolting! Glad it went well for you x

    Ik vind je groots, waarom? Omdat je mensen mee laat kijken en alles uitlegt en wat het met je doet. Geweldig hoe je alles bespreekbaar maakt. ❤️

    I don’t blame you for wanting to spend that time alone, I think I would feel that way as well. When I don’t feel well, I prefer to just relax and think of nothing. So, I feel you! By the way, I love your attitude and how you always keep a smile on your face. ❤️

    You look so good and you're so freaking strong! Your room looks really nice and it's clean so that's good. I've seen some nasty hospital rooms here in the U.S. I'd probably try to sleep through the process if I were you, ha ha. You hang in there, girl, we're all rooting for you, you're amazing!!

    I just start watching your videos. You are a very strong person. I see in this video that your left side of your face looks swelled more then normal. Maybe is just me. Or how is seen on camera. I pray for you to be free of cancer. 🙏🏽

    Thank you for letting us into this very private part of your journey. You have shown us grace and courage in a difficult time. You have shown how to maintain a positive attitude while going through the unknown treatments of cancer. And you have educated those of us who have never been involved in this side of medicine. I've followed you through this, and you have shown a beauty that goes beyond the skin. You have an inner beauty that has drawn so many to you. Continued prayers for your speedy recovery.

    Wow, wow, wow! You are amazing Romee. As someone who is also going through cancer treatment, I understand your not being able to handle anyone else's emotions. It's like ok, this is what I have to do, I'm ready--you don't need anyone else's fear, crying, etc. you just want to get on with it. I understand! Hoping everything works out for the best!

    Romee you are so strong! ❤️ I donate Platelets regularly for people just like you, to get you to this point 😊 The Red Cross may have kept telling me to come in every two weeks instead of every week for the past 8 weeks, but I felt called. I am backing off to every two weeks now to keep a steady supply out there for whoever needs them ⭐️
    Hang in there and stay positive! 🥰
