Andy Tielman dan seluruh keluarga asalnya dari Timor. Waktu mereka masih kecil nama band mereka The Timor Tielman Brothers. Perjalanan musik The Tielman Brothers dimulai di Surabaya pada tahun 1945, di mana empat kakak beradik laki-laki dan seorang adik perempuannya, Jane, sering tampil membawakan lagu-lagu dan tarian daerah. Kemampuan musik mereka diturunkan dari sang ayah, Herman Tielman, seorang kapten tentara KNIL, yang sering bermain musik bersama teman-temannya dirumahnya di Surabaya.
The Tielman Brothers dipercaya lebih dulu memperkenalkan musik beraliran rock sebelum The Beatles. Aksi panggung mereka dikenal selalu atraktif dan menghibur. Mereka tampil sambil melompat-lompat, berguling-guling, serta menampilkan permainan gitar, bass, dan drum yang menawan. Andy Tielman, sang frontman, bahkan dipercaya telah memopulerkan atraksi bermain gitar dengan gigi, di belakang kepala atau di belakang badan jauh sebelum Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page atau Ritchie Blackmore
The Tielman Brothers pernah tampil di Istana Negara Jakarta dihadapan Presiden Soekarno. Karier rekaman mereka dimulai ketika keluarga Tielman pada tahun 1957 hijrah dan menetap di Breda, Belanda. Nama The Tielman Brothers lebih dikenal di Eropa, terutama Belanda. Di Indonesia sendiri nama The Tielman Brothers masih menjadi nama yang asing, meski dikenal hanya oleh para kolektor musik, sebuah kenyataan yang sangat disayangkan.

They had by far the best presentation of all rockbands that performed in the Netherlands. With a professional producer and management they could have been a world act. Sorry for all those other Dutch rockbands: the Tielman Brothers were the first and the most talented.

I like the high energy on this song. Tipppy & the Clovers did the original in 1962 shortly before Elvis' but theirs failed to chart. All three versions are rockers.
Plus the newer one I completely missed 3 yrs ago, The "We Will Rock You Mash Up".

And how many original songs have they recorded and written compared to the beatles. Because all I hear is copies. And Bossa Nova Baby is a better version than this.

With Hans Bax (left) on the Jazzmaster, for all they didn’t knew or know. Before the Beatles went big time, they met all those Indonesian Rock’rs in Germany back in the days and get inspired by their show. In the time Paul getting his Hofner violin bass..the rest is history..

What a cool version, man. Love the bass, and all the instrumentation and the vocals and the harmonizing. So cool. Am I crazy, but does the lead singer sort of sound like Elvis?
I would say more like Tippie and the Clovers (Tiger label 1962). Theirs did not chart unfortunately. Elvis's did of course. Written by Jerry Leiber & Mike Stoller who wrote many songs for E. Elvis sang it in a 1963 movie. It was also the last Elvis single to appear in the R&B chart. Elvis' became a million seller & is one of only two bossa nova records to make the charts back in the day. The other was "Blame it on the Bossa Nova" which reached #7 on the hot 100.
