In this video, we're going to be taking a look at the #Pixel7 vs the #Pixel6 to see which one is worth it, depending on what you prefer. Personally, I didnt notice much of a difference when using the two phones, and I think if youre tight on money, the Pixel 6 is a GREAT phone, especially if you use the above link!

I found a Pixel 6 for $220 wasnt sure if i should just do 6 not 7.
I got a pixel6 recently as may backup phone. It was only 40-50 dollars more than the 6a so I think that was a good deal. And now my 14promax is getting a good rest cause the pixel 6 is that good. 😊
As flossy carter would say..”you just bought the same damn phone twice”…lol!
I had a pixel 5 and just got pixel 7 pro. It feels so premium compared to the five especially with the official protection case from Google
Mind you the pixel 5 was basically the flagship midrange phone google came out with. I recently owned a pixel 6 and that was a great phone. The best android phone I’ve probably ever owned.
Dont you think 7 pro is way too big and heavy compared to the 5?
My main interest would be the difference between OG Tensor and the G2 Tensor. I haven't read anything about the differences. I assume there would be improvements in the AI.
That's the main thing to figure out for me too, trying to decide between 6 & 7.
@@teosto1384 whatd ya got?
I live in Brazil so unfortunately we don't have Pixel phones here but your videos are very enlightening. 🤘🏻
I'm actually thinking of buying one when I head to the US end of the year. I'm wondering if it makes sense or just to stick with my iphone
To be a little fair for the pixel 7 that extra $200 will also get you an additional year of major OS update and security update. I could be wrong
@@zoom3993 no heating issues on my pixel 6 tho
Android in general is already secure that extra year isn't worth the money.
Though I think the recent Pixel phones will get updates for years to come. This should not be an issue. I believe it is more of an issue with mid range phones, say Samsung A53 vs Samsung A52s.
Impersonation scam. Please, report the user above. Thank you.
I got the pixel 6 , at first I had problems with bugs that made it crash and having to restart the phone , but since all the updates it’s been brilliant , I fully recommend it
The main problem with pixel devices that there is no Dual Sim card slot I know about Esim but in most countries isn't support
I think the pixel 7 is geared more towards those wanting to upgrade from an older phone pre pixel 6 . If you already have a pixel 6 that functions without any issues , no point in upgrading really.
🤣 I love the edits! That unlocked my face for sure.
With these larger sensors, we no longer need portrait mode, all I'm saying. I'm getting really good results from the 7 pro sensor. I know it's off topic sorry.
The main reason anyone would want the Pixel 7 over the Pixel 6 is the modems being used. The Pixel 6 had a CRAP modem in it. Connectivity was the only really issue I had with my Pixel 6 Pro, but that's the whole purpose of the "phone," to be able to make and maintain calls or data connectivity. My Pixel 6 Pro would often have connectivity one second and then 5G! (loss of connection) icon the next and I didn't even move. Pixel 7 Pro is getting INCREDIBLE connection with the new modem Google used. So, if you're lucky enough to have a Pixel 6/6Pro that has good connectivity, then keep your Pixel 6/6Pro, otherwise the modem alone is worth the upgrade to the Pixel 7/7Pro.
Another great video Mark! Awesome job! I like your video style.
Absolute facts on top of fax. The modem in the Pixel 6 Pro is horrible
The two differences I'm mainly interested in are the max screen brightness and the enhanced voice to text ability of the tensor 2
i like the design of pixel 6 rather than pixel 7
Thank you so much for this video. For giving a perfect honest review. I was thinking about upgrading from my pixel 6 to the 7 but after watching this and realising i would just be getting the exact same phone, ill be sticking with my 6. Thanks for helping me make my decision. Take care buddy. All the way from the UK 🇬🇧
Definitely stick with the 6! Wait for the 8. That'll be a nice upgrade 🔥 glad to help :)
@@MarksTechwill do, thank you again 😃😃😃
good call but tbh dont need to upgrade ur phone till the old one dosnt work
Generally all the flagships mostly do incremental changes with the occasional large change for a redesign. Hell, Apple's been selling the same phones for years. Google's finally setting themselves up to do the same.
There is actually a huge upgrade on the modem, mobile connectivity and Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity are better than on my s22 ultra, I had the pixel 6 pro it would disconnect from mobile, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi constantly was completely terrible for connectivity. And I never had a problem with the original fingerprint sensor. I do think the six pros cameras looks better from watching your video though!
Maybe it was your specific device, got 3 regular pixel 6 for my family never faced a problem either in the US or in India
I have an Unlocked Pixel 6 with only Sub 6 on AT&T, and I've even been roaming while traveling. The experience has been mostly flawless except in those typical crowded areas that you expect phone networks to just fail in. Like Mall areas with 100s of people.
I've never noticed a single Wifi issue ever. The speeds even brush up against the theoretical maximums during good connection quality usually at home.
The only thing the unlocked Pixel 6 is missing is the mmWave receiver. And that's only a nice to have.
I know the Pixel 6 i have doesnt get along at all with my jeep wrangler Uconnect system. If i use android auto "via usb cord" then just decide to use regular bluetooth to my surprise the phone is completely unpaired from the jeep. I had to constantly pair it again. Super pain in the ass. No other phone past or present gave me that issue.
Best Buy is giving $480 trade in on the pixel 6 plus $100 gift card towards a pixel 7. With tax it is costing me a total of $40 to upgrade. Not worth $200, but it may make sense for less than $50.
How much tax?? Was it on 600 or the difference after trade-in. I traded mine in Best buy and they charged me tax on entire 600
Android 13/14 made a HUGE difference for the Pixel 6. I had went back to my S22 Ultra last summer and essentially retired the Pixel 6, Android 13 was released and I wanted to check it out and it was like using a completely different device. Android 12 was a dumpster fire for the Pixel.
Agreed. Wanted to change to the 8 pro but after 14 release the Pixel 6 was even better. Will see what the 9 serias brings.
I like the smaller size of the Pixel 7, but since I have the 6, it doesn't justify an upgrade. I'll wait for the 8 or 9 probably.
i will wait for the 8 too.
Same
Just got a refurbished Pixel 6 from Amazon affiliate. Could not tell it had ever been used. I immediately downloaded all upgrades including the January fix....and I believe along with the android 13 it came with that most of the bugs that plagued the 6 in '22 have been resolved. So far very happy ..only issue is the battery may be draining faster than I like. I had Pixel 3a and 5a. Hope the 6 camera is as good or better.
i just bought a pixel 6 on amazon renewed i hope i didn't make a mistake
@@andres910604 chances are very good you saved a lot of money on a like new phone. Could always play with it for a day or so before downloading your files and check out the camera, then return it if need be. But that is unlikely to happen from my experience...
They battery life is good?
@@andres910604 I will say that even with the latest January upgrades I give the battery life average at best grades.
That plus some concerns about lens flare on certain photos are concerns for me. But then what phone has no issues?
i want the thicker bezels on the pixel 6. i don't know. but it just looks more appealing when a boxy type of phone has thick bezels
A new phone surely unlocks MY face. Using my old one has me grimacing while the brand new one sparks a smile.
That said I'm upgrading from 1+7pro but the bugger has badass specs resolution wise and pop-up camera that makes it hard for me to get rid of this. I know Pixel WILL be my next purchase but still on the fence not being able to decide between 6, 7 or 7pro, heck 6a tempts me too.
Wait for 7a to see what it's like but I got a 7 from a iPhone 12 mini and I couldn't be happier. The small phone life was awesome while it lasted but battery life is so nice to have NGL I literally get 2 days of life outta my pixel 7 because I became so disciplined have a tiny battery before
Traded my 6 in for a 7 directly to Google for $20. An extra year of OS upgrades and hopefully more reliable connection were the clencher for me. The only thing that sucked was needing to replace the case which added cost to the whole deal. Not sure I would have pulled the trigger without the great deal on the trade in and I figured I would never get MORE money for my 6 than now.
How did you get that deal?
the fingerprint really works slower on pixel 6? i can't choose, because some people sey thath there is an issue with fingerprint on pixel 6, but i don't really see other differences
great video just spent 250 bucks on amazon for a pixel 6 , i think it,s smart purcharse and even better for someone from South America like me. looking forward to it arriving soon.
That's why most times it makes sense to upgrade only after 2 or 3 generations.
I don't know if it's just me. But trying the finger print censor is less than a 50% rate
I agree the pixel 6 is an awesome phone and you don't have to spend a whole lot of money. I had a three and I wass very very happy with it but I ran out of storage and I could not get any more updates, Believe me, they last a long time.
I just buy my Pixel 6 Renewed for $220 on Amazon, hope it works just fine 🤞🏼 it'll come in two more days, I'll let you know
Could you please update us about how the telephone is going on. I’ve heard that the pixel 6 has issues with connectivity due to its modem compared to the pixel 7.Is that true?!
Thank you in advance and excuse my bad english.
@@chad6864 I sold it about 8 months of use to buy a Pixel 8, but in the time I had it, it always work perfectly
The Pixel 7 looks like the pics were a bit darker than the 6 but other than that, u might be right. The Pixel 7 is smaller than the 6 and in hand I can feel it along with the bezels being smaller (as u said).
Yeah that is something that I definitely noticed. The pixel 6 seems to lift the shadows ever so slightly more than the pixel 7
The pixel 7 does 4k 60fps on the front cam u forgot to mention that and there are several other features that are pixel 7 exclusive. not to mention my cell connectivity is much better on my pixel 7 than it was on my pixel 6. If you're on a budget I get it but the pixel 7 is a better phone hands down.
Hey Mark awesome video, i am planning to wait for black Friday deals at best buy. Still using my OnePlus 6 8/128g global version 😁
Upgraded to the Pixel 7 from the Pixel 4 just yesterday. Bought mine at Target, which is also doing the $100/$200 gift card promo like Best Buy (as of me typing this)
Can someone use a picture (Portrait) of someone to unlock someone else's phone with Pixel Face Unlock? That might be something to consider.
on my pixel 6, I have where my Fitbit charge 5 being on, or being at my home location, both of these will keep the phone in an unlocked situation, so that saves a lot for using the pixel 6 fingerprint sensor. anyway still enjoying the pixel 6 but considering a move up to pixel 7 due to the deals that pixels offering me per my pixel 6. thanks for the video.
yeah those deals are great! but hurry. they only last until the end of this month!
@2:04 Are there phones that can unlock 🔓 faces?
Seriously I'll like to see one.
That’s a straight talking review, thank you.
Top vid man. I’m sat here staring at me pixel 7 and the iPhone 11 I use and I’m struggling to find a reason to switch to google. Ordered it thinking I’d switch easily but I can’t find any reason to love to the pixel. I’m asking myself why would someone get a pixel, I’m not a camera person or into the Ai stuff? I played around with the pixel and noticed in the Google chrome news feed when I scroll it’s all jittery? Is that normal?
I got a pixel 3 couple years back when my iPhone 7 was on a fritz and it has been love and hate relationship. I even tried pixel 6 last year but had issues with my AT&T prepaid eSIM so at the end I got a refurbished iPhone 12 mini. Although I miss googles call screening features I love the size (or lack of it) on the mini. In my opinion pixels are good devices but for me the iPhone is more polished experience.
Youre underated. Unlike other channel that are afraid to say they're similar kudos to you.
I literally like 10 mins ago pulled the trigger on a Pixel 6. My Oneplus 7 was flawless until the screen got damaged, ended up using my wife's old S9 that's been sitting in a drawer for the past few months (not a very pleasant experience by contrast 😅) so I decided to get the pixel 6.
Hey there, I got a Pixel 6 pro and I have to say the software updates are Extremely frustrating to download and install. It too over 1 hour to do a 34MB file update as well the OS update from google - extremely poor in my opinion and I live near a cell tower so signal strength is not the issue.. Goofgle yes I said Goofgle really needs to pick up the pace and speed here as it would take Samsung 20 minutes to do that task. How was your update speed on the google 6 Pro compared to the 7 Pro, you should include your experience in that simple task to let people know...
Well, I traded my six in at best buy and it ended up costing me 19 bucks for an unlocked......seems like a good reason to upgrade for even minor things. But the day to day use is actually superior because of less bugs. More reliability.
i only paid 120 up front for pixel 7 on tmobile which is a steal
Good video watching while at work. You seem to have alot more energy in this video that's a good thing
I was really hoping the new modem would make a larger difference. My pixel 6 runs really hot, drops calls too often, and has terrible battery life. I usually get 3 hours of screen on time. '/
I noticed when I turned off the refresh rate and 5g it stopped running hot. I guess the first gen chip cannot handle those multitasking while those settings, 90hz refresh rate and 5g, running in the background. I hope that helps.
bro, it's the thumbnail that got me!
both of these phones look beautiful 😍
Pixel 6a on sale for 299 on Amazon. Same phone as the 6 with a lower refresh rate and the camera specs don't matter with Google
The screen brightness is a big improvement for me. It's much brighter than my 6 pro. I never hand any problems with my 6pro fps.
I wouldn't recommend the Pixel 6 Pro due to the really crappy modem and the excessive heat. On 5G, it dies super quickly and dropped my calls all the time. The 7 Pro fixes that.
I haven't had any issues with the modem, but I believe alot of it has to do with carriers. Battery life (even on 5G) has been pretty solid for me, so I think it was fixed via update
Faced no issues with mine whatsoever
Always informative videos definitely enjoyable content.. traded pixel 6 for the 7 just for the size factor of the 7 and the new design of the camera..
Is the size difference noticeable?
@@ferdinandmagellan9210 the 7 is mainly narrower and easier to hold than the 6
@@levil4012 thanks for the reply. The 6 is heavy and awkward I find. I'm not sure the 7 is gonna be that much different.
Saying your phone will not unlock your face twice with the most confident face ever😂 great review!
I traded in my pixel 6 for 7 and it was definitely worth it but the only upgrades I noticed were the finger print sensor and the face unlock.
Face unblur is what I'd want. Also the 5x tele because I use tele enough pro is a necessity for me
Where do you trade it
I've been through so much with my pixel 6 waiting on an upgrade just because of all the bugs I had to deal with and kind of still dealing with. I had to deal with connection issues where my 5G or LTE would just disappear. I had to deal with not receiving texts or phone calls even when it says I have service. My phone overheats on a daily fingerprint Super slow. I just wanted a phone that works right out the box properly and I'm barely getting that now. So maybe I'll upgrade to a pixel 7. Hopefully it works better 😊 lol
u might not know this, but thank you soo much for doing this video! I am on a tight budget and this video is a godsend! ❤️
In terms of heavy gaming, my pixel 6 outperforms surprisingly the pixel 7 that I just bought. It's really weird... And playing genshin on max graphic settings on the pixel 7 can lead to sound distorsion once the fps drops, and it happens really frequently
As pixel6 user, my money is looking forward the pixel9.
What you're saying is different from what others are saying, so what does that tells us .
woah, its almost as if ... people have different experiences 😳 pretty damn crazy, right??
@@MarksTech yeah, you just discouraged me from getting pixel 7,which i ordered already.
There is a lot of unnecessary negative reviews of pixel 6. With all the updates that have happened over the last 1 year, You won't notice any bugs especially when it comes to connectivity, if you need face unlock. get the pixel 7 but if it's not your thing then you should be fine
Darn. I was really hoping for a phone that would unlock my face. Do better Google.
broke my phone and upgraded to the 7 from the 6 and thats the problem ive been having, is that it feels the exact same like i dont feel like i got a new phone at all
I prefer the Google 6 Camera...
Do you have any bags on your pixel 6 that internet says about even on the latest updates? Also does the pixel 7 has the same issues ?
This helped me decide the Pixel 6. Thank you 👏🏽
I came from the pixel 5 and aside from the size (I like the smaller pixel 5 in size), the pixel 7 is more than a worthy upgrade!
I did have a question I was thinking of upgrading my Galaxy S20 plus to a Google pixel 6 pro or the Galaxy S21 plus what is your opand not do I save any money by getting Google instead
i still have a OnePlus 7t which is from 3 years ago. it's fingerprint sensor may not be the safest, but it's lightning fast. so is its face unlock.
Any idea when best buy will restock pixel 7 snow 128g? I missed the preorder deadline. I'm worried about it. Thx
Thank you for review
Thanks for making a proper comparison video. Other people are just doing speed tests.
Lol I hate when reviewers do that. When will they realize that the average person could care less?
You saved me hundreds. Thank you so much!
But I got my Pixel 7 for only $99 with new line, so did not get a better deal there O.o Also my phone didn't unlock my face, is that an error in the new phone :O
The phone spec sheet shows it takes twice as long to charge the 7 pro over the 6 pro. 7pro is heavier, a few less MP in front facing camera (they round up to 12) and besides face unlock and the unblur tool, and not to forget the tensor g2 text to speech improvement, it's honestly a lesser phone. I'm all about charging speed. Google doesn't send you a 30watt charger but base their charging speeds on 30 watt chargers 😳
Yo that face unlock phone unlocking your face mesh up had me rolling 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Selling a new model that is almost identical is just money-making and certainly bad for the climate and the environment. But that's the case with every manufacturer. Keeping the Pixel 6 on the market for 2 years and providing updates such as just a color update for the camera would be better. (The Pixel 7 sporadically just has slightly different colors in the camera photos) that has to be said.
What matters is the GPS mapping when there isn't any service and FM radio. Lots of ram and ability to transfer photos directly from the phone to a computer. The rest is fluff.
Watched on my Pixel 6. I enjoy mine and I'm another person with no issues]
The pixel 6 pics look better to me honestly
I had the Pixel 6 and hated it, so much that I jumped at the chance to upgrade to the Pixel 7. The 7 is a much better, more responsive phone, with better form factor. I'm still annoyed at google for having gone a year with the 6. I really missed my previous Pixel4a, and would rather have a 5 than a 6, but the 7 is making up for it.
Why did you hate it?
I LIKE THE LOOK OF THE 6 BETTER. OH AND THE PRICE TOO.
Me too
hi mark i would like to know the settings when an income call comes to a samsung it says the callers name i saw that on your ticktok but now i fogot how to change that from the settings can you help me here pls
Considering I use my phones until they either A. break, B. battery implosion, C. can no longer update, going from a Pixel XL 3 to a Pixel 6 Pro must be leaps and bounds better in overall performance.
I think people seem to forget that when you experience the latest and greatest you don't even know what "good" really is anymore because of Moore's Law with a computer chip doubling it's capabilities every 18 months. You really need to sit back and stop consuming for the sake of consuming to appreciate how damn good it really is when you get something every few years vs EVERY singel year because they are advertising you to do so. Also if it perfectly functions and you are productive, why replace what ain't broken? FOMO is fake.
To be honest, the biggest difference for me is the modem. Connection was difficult for me that my Pixel 6 battery was negatively affected. Once I switched it to 4G LTE, I didn't have many lingering issues. However, I would like to get 5G when available on my 5G phone.
Where do you switch to 4G?
@@AndreaClinton settings, network, sims and preferred network type.
I think pixel 6 may be a better option although pixel 7 is a great phone too overall! Battery size is needlessly reduced on the pixel 7.
While that is true the pixel 7 battery life is actually better because of the new tensor optimization
I never had trouble with my pixel 6 pro now the 2023 update made it better and faster
I don't like to unlock my face. I prefer unlocking my thumb
I got Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro and thinking to switch to Pixel 6, can u recommend me to go for a pixel phone or should I keep my Xiaomi and wait a year for Pixel 7 price to drop.
Wait
The newest version of any flagship is never worth the extra premium over it's predecessor. I always get the 1 year old model.
I am happy with the 6a..better size and weight and almost same quality pictures. And much cheaper. I dont need such things as wireless charging and higher refresh rate.
Man…I hate when my phone doesn’t unlock my face. Like…what am I hiding in there and why won’t I open? 😢
pixel 6 is so beautiful
How's about the temperature Mark? No difference at all 😔
Honestly both overheat so .. lol no difference there
@@MarksTech thank you :-( sad to hear that, the only thing hold me back from purchasing a pixel 6 last year is overheating issue. I hoped they will fix it with 7 series.
Great review.👍😊
Thanks so much!:)
I have a note 10+. I have always been a samsung person so will I be disappointed if I get the Pixel 7 pro?
The Google operating system is muchhhhhhhh better. Faster and easier to use. Stock android is the best...you will never go back.
