    13 year old me loves this car. 46 year old me is older and cynical and thinks, "great, they made a countach-like body kit for a Sian and it's €2M" It's fine, but it relies REALLY heavily on rich people's nostalgia. More power to them. I don't hate it. I'll just call it an underachievement of expectations. That said, The Stelvio looks like it would be labored with a car like this. It wants a GR Yaris or a Golf R at most.

      I’m very much in agreement with you. Growing up, the Countach was my absolute favorite - Super expensive, but not so over-the-top outrageous and to know you’ll never, EVER see one driving down the road. Limited to only 112 cars and priced well over $2,000,000 has made this car a huge disappointment for me. I had really hoped they would have saved a design like this to use on the next-gen Lambo when resurrecting the Countach name.

They even could have put a manual in it and I would kinda understand the 2 million it costs. Obviously I’m not the target audience for this car, they know the super rich don’t care about driving experience or classic looks. It’s all about fake scarcity and over the top design elements.

      Agreed and when he said "this isn't about the car it's about having Stelvio Pass, all to yourself" i rolled my eyes so hard. Is this a car show or...? Additionally the "reborn" Countach is an insult to the Countach. They should've done better by their own freaking legacy, what a half arsed attempt. No protruding intake vents behind the driver side door, side intake vents are way TOO large and comically lazy, the fender design is similar, the fat front is similar but it's clearly a slightly changed Aventador, as he stated in the video. The rear of it is the biggest travesty. They should've waited, they have poor timing as well.

    I've been a lifelong Lamborghini fan and I must say this is a fitting swansong for the Aventador/Sian that it's based upon. I adore Countach 2.0.
    For me, the design is spot on. There is enough resemblance to tie it to the original, a few "family" touches that tie it to the modern brand and just enough original lines that make it a stand alone model.
    The one piece of design I find especially pleasing to the eye are the wheel arches (front and rear) with the trademark Gandini angles and slashes, also the heavily truncated rear end. The only thing that's missing is pop up headlights a la original but I understand that's due to regulation constraints, but the covered lights do a great job of emulating the Countach face. The only thing I struggled with design wise was the caricature NACA ducts on the flank, but I'm coming to terms with them.
    I would like to see one in Walter Wolf red on black with gold wheels and tan interior. That would be mega!!!

    This is as much a review of the pass as it is of the car. I love it! As for the Countach, take a bow, Lamborghini! Wish it had a longer production run. One of the last greats of a dying Era.

    When I was a kid in 75 I had the Lamborghini Countach poster in my bedroom. I was not really into Italian Supercars until that car came along. It has been my dream car ever since, only why fiddle with perfection? If it a'int broke do not fix it! Lamborghini take electrification out and put the naturally aspirated V12 back in it. I already own several flashlights why the hell do I want one wrapped in a Countach body? If I wanted a Sian then that would be my dream car, Even the Sian Lambo yacht has diesels in it not a battery pack with an extension cord.

    How does pronounce 'countach' at 01:28 ? Front end of the car really nice, rear end not so much....

    I'm struggling to think of someone who has a better job than Ollie. Years ago before top gear's RUclips channel really took off, you'd have thought maybe the old "three" had the best time of it. But this guy, this guy just tests the cars in some of the most spectacular environs, doesn't even have to be bogged down in presenting a tv show, doing some silly challenge or doing some dumb kitbashing shit. he just gets to drive phenomenal cars.
    Ollie, wish I had your job lad!

    Otherworldly natural beauty with the gorgeous Countach homage...you couldn't invent a more photogenic experience...as a driving experience it seems exhausting...
    But the hills are alive with the sound of Lambo.
    Epic.

    My first thought: I want to go to there.
    My second thought: I like the new Countach but I wish they had waited, and built it on the new platform that will replace the Aventador.

      @@whtdrgn33 The first LP500/LP400 Lamborghini Countach didn't have the rear wing, because the concept car designed by Marcello Gandini, the Lancia Stratos Zero, had this linear form without anything to disturb it like Gandini wanted.
      The rear wing was adopted in 1982 with the LP500S.

    For me the countach was always my pin up super hyper car poster of all time. It’s that wild futuristic timeless look that made it so amazing. But the new one looks older for some reason to me. Is it retro look? But I think it lost its original appeal

    • @thunderbug8640
      @thunderbug8640 2 года назад +3

      Yeah, it feels a lot like a dirty cash grab tbh, riding on the name without any of the charm. I mean 2.2 million for what is essentialy an Aventador 🤨

    • @StevieObieYT
      @StevieObieYT 2 года назад

      @@thunderbug8640 Yep. I agree. It lost it's original look. And in doing so, it lost it's original appeal. I mean yeah they could modernise the interior to better suit the times we live in today. And they could make improvements on the original engine so that it runs smoother. That's what I would have went for. Meanwhile this car is just a stinking cash grab! But it's not money so I won't complain. Ya know? 😏

    • @Jakefkyah
      @Jakefkyah 2 года назад

      @@StevieObieYT I think the front does a great homage to the original, but the rear looks like every other lambo. To me, it's missing the excessively large air scoops and wing that gives the rear so much character on the original countach. Add those and it'd be perfect. Hopefully they release a special model with these changes.

      Yeup they didnt' change the Aventador enough save for the (now) comically large side vents and the fender shape. Not a fan, feel bad for the Countach, it deserved a better more thoughful re-introduction.

    Amazing video love the feeling of this type of first look/ drive, couldnt done it a better way. Didnt like the design at first either it feelt kinda cheep and more like a aventador. the classic countach was a hypercar of its own class and design, this one felt not so special.
    Lamborghini is not like ferraris remaking of historical cars but Lamborghini for sure is better at producing a new better type of supercar then the year before. Cause Lamborghinis history is Ferruccio Lamborghini making a new better car and then what is out right now.

    I fell in love with Lamborghini from the first time I saw and heard one. It's an animal. I love highly technical music called Jazz-Rock Fusion and other technical things like synthesizers. But then I LOVE AC/DC. It's a visceral, animal thing. It is an ingenious blend of intelligence and brute force. A man's car.

    Visually a almost perfect modern representation of the Countach, I would prefer a more corse sounding engine note rather than the high pitch scream.
    Just need Ferrari to do a modern F40🤞🤞
