Interesting night ride!! The maze of tracks and switches reminds me of the similar maze in New York where LIRR and Amtrak trains enter/ leave the tunnels to Penn Station and Grand Central. Thanks Tresseleg1😀💚
Please bring more night drivers view love them mad train enthusiasm God bless you and your family and The time you put in to IT God bless you ❤ Warren and Ingrid Melbourne Australia 😇🇦🇺
Thanks, but also thanks to the driver who takes these. Without him we would have nothing. I will see what other night views I have but some lines are so dark that you see almost nothing.
Great ride! I guess this is a Night Network's service, given the train bypassed Southern Cross which is usually closed at these times. Royal Park was a bit creepy due to the lack of lights except the train ones, but I guess the driver is more than used to that. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for the night time footage, the upfield line looks so different at night. Is there a reason why some station signals showed a g/r and others showed a y/r once the driver stopped and was ready to proceed to the next station? Wouldnt it be easier just to show a g/r always ? As i didnt know you could proceed with a y/r
Melbourne train signals have always seemed far more complicated than necessary. Maybe this little video will help you grasp the meanings. I think I have covered all combinations. Melbourne Train Signals Explained I Hope! ruclips.net/video/U9VM3fkJ6Bg/видео.html
Now I remember which station I was trying to name to you last Saturday; my Dad and I got on at GOWRIE station and took the train to Flinders St. We then caught the tram to the MCG for the 2005 AFL Grand Final. We stayed at the Hume Villa Motor Inn in Fawkner.
Every signal has them in Melbourne and Sydney. If a train passes a Red signal, the arm is up and this connects with a lever on the train which will cause an emergency air brake. Other states here have more modern systems to put the brakes on.
@@NR29pacnat I think that’s the system where drivers have to acknowledge a beep within a couple of seconds and if not the brakes will be applied. The only problem with that system is that a driver can choose to ignore a red signal and press the acknowledge button allowing the train continue on flat out.
@@tressteleg1 Ok. I just assumed it was a Stage 1 because of the sound of the brakes releasing. I can usually tell the difference between a Stage 1 and a Stage 2/3 Comeng by the brakes. But if it was earlier this year (in the last few months), it wouldn't have been a Stage 1, as they're all retired by now. Thanks.

Hershey train Cuba 2023. I just came back from family visit and filmed what's left of the Hershey train.... What time of night was this run
Yet another great night trip on the Melbourne network. Please thank the drivers who do the filming and let them know it is very much appreciated
😊👍 Will do. As for the Zoo station, there is no reason for anyone to be there in the middle of the night.
@@tressteleg1 you'd be surprised!

Finding yourself alone on the platform at Royal Park in the middle of the night would be just a tad unnerving... But then so would Fawkner...

I'm from W.A and never seen the trip arm box thing before, How come some crossing have them and some don't?
Every signal has them in Melbourne and Sydney. If a train passes a Red signal, the arm is up and this connects with a lever on the train which will cause an emergency air brake. Other states here have more modern systems to put the brakes on.

Quite possibly.

Wow, was this a Stage 1 Comeng? When was this filmed?
Unfortunately I don’t have information on the Comeng type. Earlier this year I believe.

I will simply say that you may well be correct 😄
by the sounds of it yes it sounds like 393M (judging off of the horn)
@@DERAILER83That's interesting that you can tell a specific Comeng by the horn. Thanks for letting me know.

how come the comeng did not stop at Southern Cross
great video
That had me mystified s well. Maybe the train for this run is normally stabled at North Melbourne so would not normally pass through SSS.
@@tressteleg1 ok thanks is that rare for a passenger train no stop at Southern Cross at night time

@@tressteleg1 SSS closes at midnight/1am so trains skip it after that time.
But recently Victoria Government announced that they going to remove level crossings in Jewell, Brunswick and Anstey by 2026
