- T20 World Cup Daily, 2024, Day 17: New Zealand v PNG, Bangladesh v Nepal, Sri Lanka v Netherlands. Four maidens in a T20i? Four maidens? That's insane. It's not been a good fortnight for the Black Caps but they end on a win in Trent Boult's final match after Lockie Ferguson achieved the most unlikely. From there, Geoff and Adam go back to the night before to discuss how Bangladesh made the cut instead of the Dutch.

Lockie Ferguson’s figures stand up very well to Brian Langford’s 8-8-0-0 for Somerset against Essex in the John Player League back in 1969, he even kept Keith Boyce quiet for three balls!
We thought exactly the same thing!
If a record falls in a match no one is really watching, did it actually happen? I feel for NZ but when you fall off the cliff, you really fall.
It's a bit like that, isn't it? Shades of Watto's sixes and highest ever ODI score in Dhaka in front of a dozen people straight after the '11 WC exit
The New Zealand team is packed with proven players with very high abilities but age is catching up now, against West Indies only 3 of them were under 32. Interesting to see how they rebuild.
They certainly looked like they'd gone one round too many in this tournament.
Boult said that this was his final T20 WC and that he was 'unsure about his international retirement', so presumably he's open to playing Tests.
Technically, yes. But if he wasn't going to play a home series against Aus in March, then what odds he'll be motivated to play others, or more to the point, why would they shunt another player at his whim?
@@FinalWordCricket Makes sense. But in terms of this being his final match, he'll probably appreciate, and NZ will likely oblige, one last outing at home, a la Anderson, for a proper send-off
Sure. We can cross that bridge if we come to it
Adam really isn't letting the "T20s International" go, is he? #wantedit
The wicket was spiteful, even Kane Williamson had his fingers smashed.
He does that all the time though
Impressive record!!!!
Thanks for coming along for the ride
What record? Did I miss something?
