This was beautiful. From the first notes you could tell this was a conversation not only between performers but the activity as a whole. Great concept that beautifully executed.
Just beautiful composition and execution. I absolutely loved this performance. Anaheim Kingsmen member (77, 78, 07). I so remember my rookie year (77) seeing and hearing SCV for the first time and I knew instantly this was a special corps. Loved them ever since. Keep up the great work and tradition of a world class organization.
Real talk there could be something to this. I feel like live performances are going to stick around. But what if groups started having virtual ensembles made up of age outs?
@@cartermize6651 I feel like that's a rare exception because between this and what a lot of the WGI groups did this could be a really cool outlet for these ensembles.
To any and all people who either march SCV's drumline, or teaches, you are always impressive. You clearly show what every other Corp is trying to be. Flawless!!! Snares are always clean. Tenors are always next level jedi. Holy sh*t, you're always amazing.

I'm not crying, you're crying....well done SCV. Worth listening to on a bigger system, with a decent subwoofer. The sounds totally envelop you. Only thing better would be seeing it live. Loved it!
I'm not sure that seeing it live would be better. Then you wouldn't be able to see any of the cool camera tricks. I feel like those add a lot to the overall feel of the video, and it wouldn't be the same without them.
I know this year isn't about comparing groups, but I can't help but notice how much more tasteful and well-realized this is compared to Blue Devil's production. You can see, hear, and feel the difference - A perfect blend of modern and traditional drum corps. Bless all the performers this year, but something about BD's production seemed out of touch. (This is coming from someone who marched Blue Devils for years as well as Vanguard Winter Percussion when it was around, and has nothing but love for all my bay area corps!)
Honestly watching Blue Devils video, I get the feeling that if they had the choice, that's the kind of thing they would be doing rather than a full drum corps show. Some kind of cool weird artistic video.
@ARZiehm SCV is what I saw first, and even though I'm a sucker for high-range baritone duets, I was totally blown away by how gorgeous this video looks and sounded. After reading this comment, I went to go find the Blue Devils production for this year out of curiosity, and while BD's performance was certainly 'out of touch', your comment had me expecting at least something resembling drum corps. I'm kind of shellshocked after watching that and I'm not even epileptic.
Other Worlds had its merits. The important thing is that they were together. I thought the extra electronics were interesting. The SCV piece is simply beautiful. Been playing it constantly.
May be one of the most beautiful pieces I have ever seen and heard in this activity. Where can we as DCI go from here. Love all that DCI does and has done to inspire so many performers and instructors alike and to keep our hopes and dreams alive. We will conquer and come together again. Today we are not just brass, drum and guard, we are musicians, sound mixers, videographers. Today's performers exhibit what it means to be artistry and unity in motion working respecting one another to make the world a better place through their art. We are all connected as One.
This beautiful performance brought tears to my eyes. I didn't realize just how much I've missed this. SCV has once again demonstrated their commitment to excellence. Great job all!
I'm a hard core Bluecoats fan living in Canton, Ohio but I saw this at Indianapolis last August and am 100% totally in love. You won 2021 with this production. Would love more videos like this in the future from more corps. I listen to it all the time and am absolutely mesmerized by the music and the video.
I have differing opinions on that but you're damn right it was beautiful. Why can't corps do this every year? It's not about the scores for me as much as it is the performance. I can go out on the field with my band and play my heart out and not worry about what score we may have gotten, so long as I put my best effort into it.
Look man.....i gotta be honest. Im a die hard fan of another DCI group. Saw their video submission. It left me with a headache. Not knocking what they did...it just....wasnt for me. This though. This is amazing. The music. The visual display. Awesome job to all those involved. If THIS is where DCI could go, id be down for that. Simple and smooth. No raves. No trance. No techno. Just awesome music.
For the first time in a long time, I stopped what I was doing and was moved the core. SCV, you are the definition of the term "World Class." This. Is. Amazing.

Wow. I know this was done in absence of the normal end of season shows in 2021, but I would love to see corps do this more often. What a great way to present your show and highlight your talent.
Creativity is in endless supply and I adore seeing it put to work. This was a beautiful production that is outside the box of what we usually see from DCI. I absolutely loved it. Very visually moving, great sound, lovely setting and well executed. Proud of you all!
