trombones are tricky. when they're good, they're amazing. when they're not used correctly, they're meh. that's my experience after playing for 10 years.
There are currently 80 people out there who disliked this video. Either they have no taste or forgot to turn up the audio cuz this is absolutely amazing!!!!!!

You guys make me want to pull my Trombone and Euphonium out of moth balls and start playing. Anyone who dislikes this must be trumpet players who don't what a real brass horn sounds like.
This goes along with a fun old adage I learned when I first started playing trombone, we're phenomenal for love songs and pirate tunes. Y'all put it to an entirely different level to prove others wrong that that's all us trombones are for. Absolutely love a phenomenal trombone choir and y'all crush it. Thank you.

All bass trombonists in the world, dream of the moment they read what happens around 3:40 mark in their part. That is until they have to play it, practice it, play it, etc... then they remember they should have focused more on their breathing technique. These bass trombonists have done there jobs! Bravo!! MORE, PLEASE!!
I have given up on any other music. I just loop this when my teachers let me listen to music. I play trombone so this so inspirational! Keep up the good work.

It's gotta be a contra. You can't get pedals like the ones at 3:39 on a regular bassbone.
It's definitely a bass trombone. Watch the end when they lower their instruments if you aren't convinced, it's the same size as the other basses. An F contra would be practically as tall as him, and a BBb contra has a double slide.
jck1794 It would be understandable to mistake Brandt's instrument for a contrabass, since the model he plays on (Thein Van Djik model) is similar in design to their contra. Nevertheless, he is playing on a bass in this recording. His low range is simply that amazing.
you right, the Thein Van Djik Bass and the Van Djik contrabass look very similar. I wonder why..... lol

Én mióta 3 éve elkezdtem harsonázni (furulyázás helyett). Életem egyik legjobb döntése volt. Milyen jó, hogy értem már is hogy lehet ilyen harmónikusan és pontosan 9 harsonának játszania. Főleg ez a harmónia igaz 3:00-tól kb. 4:10-ig. Ezt a szakaszt akárhányszor hallgatom mindig ugyanolyan mint, először: libabőrös. Ha így is rohadt jó, élőben vajon milyen lehetett hallgatni...

Yea, I can get them on my Edwards Bass Trombone, if I use my Tuba mouthpiece I can put some serious power behind them too. Give me a BBb Contrabass Trombone and I can get down around the F below that (that's ~24' of pipe sounding at it's fundamental frequency, aka F0).
