your videos are very inspiring for me to watch as I'm going through this experience! I'm having a hard time being happy during this time because I'm ready for it to be over. I wish I could be as positive as you were during your whole experience with the impacted tooth! both of my canines are impacted and I had the surgery last year in November and I got my braces on at the end of November. it seems like I was more happier back then than now (might have been because of the pain meds I was on😂) but my teeth are in place, they're just taking their time coming down! this process is just taking a lot out of me as you may know! my friends aren't really the nicest of people and I can't open up and tell them about what's going on which sucks but people are mean and I'm used to it now! I just wanted to show you some love because not a lot of people can get on the internet and share an experience such as this one, I know I couldn't! I can't wait to get my braces off and to have a beautiful smile like yours! you're so beautiful and sweet!! it's nice to see someone who went through this frustrating experience with such a positive attitude!

Not every step along the way was pleasant (as you know) but honestly what kept me going was knowing that it was all temporary. I knew I wouldn't have braces forever and that was enough to keep a smile on my face. It is tough having braces, i don't care what anyone says. It can effect a lot of things in your life. I've been watching your journey for quite a while Erica. I am so happy for you. I got braces back in february to fix a high canine, it wasn't impacted but it was sticking out and embarrassed me so much. I smile so much now. It's so weird to see it down and in place. My top teeth are just a few tweaks from being straight and I am so blessed. I am paying for mine and have less than half the original price to go. Straight teeth are such a blessing, and sometimes hardships make us more grateful. :) happy smiling, -Kayla p.s. I will probably be 22 when mine come off as well! I just got my braces on September 18 it hasn't even been a month:/ And I never thought that an impacted tooth was so common I honestly thought I was the only one until I started researching. Your videos gave me so much hope that everything would go well I was told that there is a chance that the tooth wouldn't even come down and I would have to get an implant so I'm still a little worried about that but your videos like I said really helped. I was told the same thing 2 years with braces the tooth may take up to a year to come down and another consern of mine just like you being toothless:/ but if you got through it so can I:) your smile is beautiful and I can't wait for mine to be just as beautiful. I'm a little jealous you're done with your process lol. But you did start early and I'm 22 now and I'll be 24 when I get them off:/ but the rest of my life I will have perfect teeth:) thank you so much again.

I’m late on this video but I am right with you girl. I have my top braces on for almost a year. It’s been 5months since I had my tooth extracted. I have yet seen my adult canine. I was told it takes about 6-12months. So I hope it comes down and hope it is in good condition. I can’t get my bottom braces on until my adult canine comes down. 😢 Did yours ever come down?

Just stumbled across your video/channel and you're so genuine! I really understood what you meant by being thankful towards your mother for how much she has helped you. I had tried to get braces all through high school but it just was not an option because it was so expensive ($6000). Once I got a job, my mom said she was able to help me out finally and I am so thankful for that. I paid for about half while she paid the other half. I am getting them off tomorrow (and I am 19), so it was really nice of her to offer her help even though she could have just let me deal with it on my own. Very nice idea what you did for your mother :)

It is currently Sunday right now and I get my braces off Tuesday, and honestly, i don't think anyone knows how excited i am. I was supposed to have them on for a year but i ended up having them fora year and a half. I have that same problem where the bottoms of my teeth aren't lined up, so do you or anyone else know if it cost extra to get the bottoms filed?

I can't wait to have mine off lol I know I have a long ways to go :-/ so I asked Dr.regarding nerve damage I was worried about he said that I will be getting a x-ray next time I go in which would be in three weeks but for now we're going to keep concentrating on bringing my k-9 down and keep bracket on which freaks me out The last thing I need is for him to cause nerve damage he could've avoided by simply removing the bracket. Honestly now that I'm thinking of this as I write this I think I rushed into going to the first ortho place i'm paying cash I should've looked into it more so is had options The ortho doctor looks pretty young not sure if he's knowledgeable regarding my case. Before him there was another doctor that started on my braces then he came in..what a mess I hope I still have my tooth next to the k-nine at the end. Now I'm nervous just thinking about it..

I've had my braces for four years now. My teeth are sooo frustrating. So.. Both of my canines were impacted ( right by my nasal cavities ) and one had an abscess under one of them so that made it difficult for that tooth to come down. I had a surgery when I was 9 to get everything fixed and all. The other tooth came down fine.. While the other one was coming down so slow (because. the root of the tooth next to it was Hooked) that bone started growing around it. 3 years past and they schedule a surgery to have the bone removed. They remove it. 6 months later and the tooth is almost down and I have never been this happy.

I really have a question, because I've watched all of your videos on your impacted canine ( and sorry if that information slipped through ). You had to have your braces on for 7 months, and then have your baby canine taken down and move one to other procedures , right ? If so, what is the reason behind it ? I guess what I'm trying to say is, why couldn't they take your baby tooth down, and put on your braces on the same day ?

I believe it is because they were making room for my impacted tooth to come down and maybe they thought to just leave the baby tooth until enough room was made so I did not have to go toothless for those first 7 months? possibly. I am not 100% for certain. Great question though. :)
+Helena Moi I also had an impacted tooth and baby tooth still in place. There is a lot going on Day 1 of braces, so they wouldn't want to pull a tooth right then and there. Also, they need to go into your palette to attached a chain to the impacted tooth, which is quite invasive and they need something to attach it to--then they use pressure to gently pull it down so that they can put a bracket on, etc. And yes- they do need to make room for it as well.
I'm gonna get a bracket on my canine next appointment which is tomorrow I've had braces for a month and a half so the process is going fast my dentist told me I would have them for a year so I hope that's true... you look great i'm happy for you :) keep making videos

+Lindsey Herbert honestly for me it was pretty fast. in less than a week it was good. like you could of still seen the hole and stuff but the stitches had fallen off already. I can say it all depends on how sensitive your gum area is and how good you take care of it. i dont think it should be longer then two weeks.

I was freaking out thinking they did something wrong but no dude, you'll be fine. Right now it may seem wrong or even feel wrong but once the tooth starts to show you'll feel way better about it. It may take time but in less than a month you'll see more tooth. I had my braces first. Then they removed my baby tooth. I was toothless for monthssssssss . Lol I also felt the hole . I just got my surgery 2 days ago. It's swollen still and I'm wondering the same question.

When they take off the brackets they are supposed to do it way faster than that. Seems like that person was still practicing with your brackets
