I never took the opportunity to thank you for all of your work and content, so I really want to express my gratitude here for what you bring to the hobby. I’ve started all alone (i live in China, I’m literally the only RC pilot in my city) to fly model aircrafts a few years ago with a tiny 400mm warbird; I’ve improved my knowledge in the RC world step by step through YT tutorials, and all of your videos in particular. Now I mostly fly 3D planes, but I keep tweaking my models through the endless possibilities of EdgeTx. The learning curve is kind of steep at the beginning, but it is so rewarding when you accomplish the result you wanted. And in my case, that was made possible only because of your invaluable work, dedication and teaching ability; I honestly think I wouldn’t have gone that far without your help. Keep up with the excellent work John, cheers.
Thanks for taking the time to share. I'm definitely glad to know my content is helpful. Even better is hearing success stories. Have fun flying. It's a great hobby and make sure to pay it forward when you can.
John, really glad you and the family got to take a nice vacation. You deserve it. With that said I'm really glad you are back. I was starting to have some withdrawal symptoms. LOL. 🤣
Another great and to the point video thats what I like about you John your time off didnt make you soft 🤣😂😅 and # 8 make sure your batteries for radio are balanced Take Care
@@MrZeek101 Hi. I use a RM 6200mah Lipo battery for my TX16S. I found that it always discharged unbalanced (3.4V one cell and 2.8V the other one for example). Do you know why ist that happening? Thank you.
Hey, i was hoping you could do a video on what to do/procedures for recovering from an rx failsafe event. Or just what to expect. I have BF RTH enabled, what happens when it flies back into range & reconnects? Will it stop flying itself automaticaly and expect me to be ready to fly? How can i retake control before it attempts a RTH landing? I have it all working correctly when i flip the RTH switch to test it. But i can toggle the rth switch off again... Im not sure how RX failsafe recovers. Ive always been really careful to not trigger it due to a lost drone in the woods a few years back lol Love your videos, your channel is a huge resource for everyone
Great vid. Interested to know if you have experienced the ELRS telemetry issue when upgrading to the latest version? Only the standard ELRS telemetry is reporting but GPS, alt etc doesn't. I've reverted back to .9.4 which works perfectly.
I am in the process of setting up my NEW Tx16s Radiomaster, and I came across a short video discussing the antenna *from another youtuber) Would you please clarify or confirm what configuration should the antenna be when flying? Straight up or to the side, Thank you and PS, since this radio is brand new is it necessary to update or upload anything at this time?
I have a guestion. Just got one this past weekend an not sure how to tell if it was right. Top right of main screen says edge TX an had everything set I thought right to bind to my spektrum recievers an won't work. Had a guy tell me that since I had the multi and DSM option in controller it should work but wont work. An he said mine was up to date on latest version I think. 2.8.4-rm-build-12
The first time i flashed an opentx/edgetx radio, i thought it was corrupted because all the widgets vanished. Then realized thats just the defaults - no widgets... Would be nice if the defaults had some basic widgets. Though i guess each radio is different & would be a lot of work to maintain the "defaults" of each radio
Good explainer John. On a side note, you may have noticed Centurion has a what I call a small bug where it lags for a few seconds after you press model select. Hoping next update will fix that. This is probably a question for the guys who make the MPM firmware, but Graupner failsafe does not work for the life of me. Have tried all the suggested techniques and procedures. Have you heard of this issue? I'm starting to suspect it might be something to do with my Freewing Phantom's supplied PDB or possibly Graupner firmware needing an update. Will need to plug in a servo directly and check it again when I get home.
I haven't heard of any failsafe issues with graupner, but to be fair, I'm almost exclusively ELRS. Did you file an issue on the model select lag? I haven't noticed but I haven't really looked for it yet either.
Thanks. Not sure if anyone has experienced the loss of receiver protocols when you upgrade to 2.10.1 and also upgrade the multi protocol module firmware to the latest one. You no longer have that many protocols to choose from and for me the radio master receivers stopped binding.
@@RCVideoReviews It appears not as there are only 8 protocols that appear under the new MPM and they are DSM, DSM_RX, FS2A_RX, FrSkyRX, FrSky X, FrSkyX2, BayanRX and HoTT. These are only ones that appear. Due to this I have to keep flashing the firmware for the multiprotol back and forth. If I use the old version of the multi module then my FrSky S6R and S8R receivers don't bind. With the old firmware they would bind but not work properly.
I have TX16s EdgeTx however when I connect that to computer the system cant capture the SD card data??? any procedure that am missing have selected USB however cant capture the SD card data. Secondly cant change picture on select model??? Please help.
Oh great knowing master of EdgeTx, I have a question (stupid Q, probably). After I learned, setup, & got ready comfy with my AG01 tx16s, knowing for sure 'I'll never own another helicopter, have no wants for one, SO I'll delete all the preset heli models. Then I acquire a blade 150🤷♂️🤯! Is there anyway I can bring back the pre-installed heli templates, OR? Granted, I did NOT remove the 'heli' menu, cause I probably knew. Thanks again EdgeTx Master!
You can do that if you don't care about model conversion or if you convert them from companion. In 2.9 they completely removed the bin to yaml conversion code from the firmware. So you CANNOT migrate from OpenTX direct to EdgeTX 2.9 and KEEP your model configurations unless you converted them via some other means.

Most likely high IR on one of the cells.

I haven't seen that, but I'm not looking for GPS/alt telemetry right now either. Is there an open issue on this?

There's no lag, maybe use a better SD card

I know in the MPM they recently split out the protocols for air and surface due to lack of space. Maybe that's the issue?

I updated my X9D+ to 2.9.3 and the firmware is a bin file???
Firmware is not a model configuration file. Model configuration files are not firmware. Two different things completely.
@@RCVideoReviews None the less I went straight from Opentx to Edge tx 2.9.3 without any intermediate step
