    I had been looking for this video since I saw you and Adam use this pot for the cypress forest. This video answers a lot of questions. When I first saw the pot in the before mentioned video, I thought it may have been made using cloth and concrete. You have a real zen factor Atilla.

    Exceptional work.
    I’ve been interested in cement/concrete art for years. My only concern is using this material in horticultural practice because of the alkaline nature. I have used cement pots that I have soaked in water for months and it seems like the low ph remains for months despite soaking in water. My tap water is already alkaline due to additives(chloramines) I know microbes will produce acid in the long term but plant health and ph are pretty important. Any thoughts?
    Thank you for a great video!!!

    • @FangornBonsai
      @FangornBonsai  Год назад

      Thanks a lot! My thoughts about using cement pots:
      That they can have a slightly alkaline pH, which may affect the soil acidity over time. Some trees prefer slightly acidic soil, so you may need to adjust your soil mixture accordingly. I have also using water seal on my pots, 2-3 layers just in case, so far so good ☺

    • @chrisgunnerson8042
      @chrisgunnerson8042 10 месяцев назад +1

      You said you used cement for the slab and then used concrete for the rest. Did you put any aggregate in the concrete when mixing for the pot , or just sand and concrete? Really liked the project hoping to make my own!

    • @FangornBonsai
      @FangornBonsai  10 месяцев назад +2

      @@chrisgunnerson8042 Sorry for the confusion Chris. I only used cement and water mix, but i am thinking of using hypertufa next time.
