I love it! Now quick question the rusted metal shouldn’t hurt the health of the tree right? The whole time I was watching I was thinking about getting tetanus and wondered if trees could get anything similar. I’d assume not since I’m sure the tree helps it breakdown and if anything could just add to more nutrients (ie., iron) the tree gets. Very interesting to me!

As i live in Australia i am going to try your method on a reasonable sized branch that is not quite in the place it should be that with hindsight should have been removed or shortened 3 or 4 years ago. But it is a Australia melaleuca tree. But none the less it’s our growing season and WHY not 👍🇦🇺🦘

what season did you do this during? It seems pretty cold outside, so I'd say mid to late autumn? Is it okay to repot trees before winter ?
