Hopefully, the powers that be at Polaris will realize that everything would look so much better if they add the same size gauge on the other side. Maybe a gas gauge? Cmon Polaris!
Everyone wants a fuel gauge! I don't think it'll ever happen 😢
I was expecting this video! Will definitely help. Thanks for sharing bro 👍✌️
Awesome!
VERY VERY smart idea with the tape markings to align everything before removing the handlebar bolts!!
It's like when a mechanic adjusts the seat in your car and it takes forever to get it back perfectly where you want it lol. Didn't want to deal with that.
Man I love your channel. I’ve been searching for weeks for this install and then you my main man heard my thoughts!!!!!
Haha thank you! I think I was the first one to publicly get my hands on it. Did my best to get this info out there!
Next upgrade on my list but had zero idea how to install! Thank you good sir! Ride safe out there!!!
@@xman20427 same to you!
Mine finally came in early after backorder, thanks for the video, made installing it easy.
Awesome! Glad you didn't have to wait too long!
Hey, thanks for the video. Good work. I just installed the analog tack and a new set of handlebars at the same time. So far it worked out great. Thanks
Awesome!
Great job! This vid is extremely helpful for when I go to install mine when the barn gets about 10 degrees warmer. Lucky that dropped bolt fell all the way through at the 7:18 mark. My luck it would end up lodging somewhere never to be seen again. My son and I actually had a small crescent wrench "vaporize" in the engine compartment of a Honda Accord once.
😄 I've totally permanently lost some tools in an engine before. Not good!
Love the look of the rev counter, definitely a great addition to the bike. It looked a proper fiddly job though lol.
Medium difficulty, would be way easier without a USB in the way
Thank you for this great video. Just finished installing tachometer on my 2021 Scout. FYI, I removed the headlight, disconnected the UPB wire from behind the headlight, and removed the speedometer. This made it a lot easier, as I didn’t have to work on the speedometer in that awkward positions.
Awesome! I was hoping the USB was easier to deal with but I was already all up in it and just wanted to get it done!
Awesome. I need one of these! Great video.
Thank you!
Great video man! Cant wait to get my hands on one!
Thanks bro!
Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks for the video
Hope it helps!
Love how Indian is bringing all the old victory octane add on a to the scout. My bike is becoming less unique🥲
Yeah the Rogue looks very much like the Octane, but still slower!
Awesome video man thanks 👍👌! Question like them grips you got there witch ones are those? Thanks in advance
Thanks man! They are YZF grips I found on Amazon. Several different aluminum colors to choose from!
@@Jimbobbington thanks again !🙌
@@jdmannino68 YZF Grips! Sorry, I had a typo, wanted to make sure you saw the correction lol
Nice
Thanks!
My goodness the FTR1200 needs this!
It didn't have one?
@@Jimbobbington Base model FTR1200 has a numerical display. Not an anolog tachometer.
The FTR is one bike that shouldn't have a "base model".
question, if I wanted to install a fuel gauge on the other side, do you think I could stack a second one of those brackets under the bezel? or would it be too tight a fit?
Check out Hemisphere Performance. They just released a fuel gauge and you can get a double bracket from them to mount both the fuel gauge and the tach just like you are describing.
I want to get one of these and a new gauge aswell as mine has gotten water damage and idea on where to buy both of these please??
You can only get a new speedo from Indian as far as I know unfortunately
After I started it up to I get the Speedometer flashing on & off. Went back through this video and hooked it up the same way. You plugged this into the Other Purple Plug, correct ? That's what it looks like I did as well
Yeah man, that's super weird! Hopefully you get it sorted out.
Did you find that 8 Grand is little high for the Max RPM's or is it right?
Redline should actually be around 8300
Shame this isn’t available in Australia
I really want one !!
It's not?
No mate…. We are limited to what is available
It’s
Really disappointing that if you want HD accessories , all is good but very frustrating for Indian
If you know a dealer they will ship I’d appreciate it
Good news.. Polaris helped me out and I ordered one
Thank you for your posts too as they are very helpful
@@victorzulu9453 that's awesome!
Why did you turn the fuel pump on 3 times before starting the engine? Have you been having problems? It sounded like it had trouble starting. I would have thought priming it so many times would flood it, no?
No issues, I had simply disconnected the fuel tank and the fuel line bled during the process. Was simply ensuring the fuel line was filled back up before starting it up. No risk of flooding on a fuel injected machine.
Did you have any problems installing it on the right side?
Indian got the message - instructions are now on the web site.
Awesome! Also, about time!
Does anyone know if it's possible to use this tachometer on an Indian FTR?
I've not heard of anyone trying this yet
Can the shift light be adjusted
Negative. It comes on at 7500 and that's all you get.
Will this fit the 2022 indian chief?
No I don't believe it will.
Is it compatible with the new digital ones?
I don't believe so, this one is specific to the Scout lineup.
Recently received and installed my tach . Shift light comes on only when I start bike . Does not come on when I’m riding . I was led to believe this comes on when shifting at required Rpm’s . Am I missing something ???
It comes on at something like ~7500 rpm based on my testing. You really have to push it towards redline to see the light.
Is only there to remind you you'll hit redline soon, but you can't see it out of the corner of your eye anyway, so it's kinda pointless.
@@Jimbobbington Thank you for reading !
Well I was using that plug to power my panini grill for 80mph snacks....bur I guess the tach is better
Haha, I got in trouble at work back in the day for grilling paninis in my cubicle on a George Foreman!
@@Jimbobbington haters gonna hate.
@@r92871 it definitely was a hater who complained, but I'm the only one still employed here 😉
Nice flag!
Thanks! Just got that from a friend!
But why, already has one on the regular readout
The digital one is horribly slow
Sure its an average reading based on a few half seconds of data, just hold your speed for a couple seconds. Lets be honest, no one here is using a scout as a race bike
Good grief you have to take off the gas tank to install a tach?
Yeah... is really not a bad as it seems though. Pretty easy and quick.
I got this installed today at the dealership. It took them about an hour 15 minutes. But mine is on the left side.
Left side is how they intended it, but didn't feel right to me for some reason lol
Just out of curiosity how much did they charge you for the job?
Dude where did you get those engine colored bolts ? They look so good.
@@goodlife6942 unfortunately the company I got these bolts from no longer sells them.
