- Some Indian motorcycle models have issues with condensation or water getting inside the speedometer. Sooner or later it will damage the cluster assembly and stop working.The new one will cost $350, sucks!! It is very easy to replace it. Take less than 20 minutes. This replacement is for 2015 Indian Scout
Your tip on using a small screwdriver to leverage off the chrome bezel probably saved me from breaking it. It’s always reassuring to see someone else do it first. Thanks dude !

Great vid thanks. Found getting the electrical plug off easier using a very small screw driver and guiding it in the small hole of the plastic tab and levering the tab at the bottom worked easier than a large screw driver pushing the top. Cheers

Thanks for this video! It shows that the bezel pops off relatively easily .. did you ever get anywhere with getting the correct miles back, or is that just gone?
No, not even a dealership can reprogram to a correct miles. Indian get an F on this issue. I just keep track with the miles. If you can find someone can do it, please let me know.

Only problem with a speedometer replacement is that the new Indian Milages is stored on the Speedometer and not the ECU. This means there's no way to transfer the milage to a new speedo. Which means you have to go to an Indian dealer to have them fill out an paperwork that your milage is your true milage. The new speedometer will than display the milage as 0.
Some guy in Pennsylvania posted that he had a private computer guy correct the mileage on his speedometer for him.

HI. thanks for your video. one question: do you think a speedometer for a 2021 scout bobber could be fitted to a 2017 scout? i noticed that only the stand light is missing and has been replaced by the water light. I found a speedometer from a 2021 bobber and to save money I would like to mount it on my 2017 scout. thanks

I had the same exact problem. Im pissed, the dealer wants minimum $350 bucks to look at it and the new cluster is over $400 bucks now. So what was the solution for the milage? were you able to get it restored to the original milage?

Unfortunately, I couldn’t fine anyone can restore the original mileage. Not even the dealer can do it. Sucks!!

I just had this kind of issue and i was wandering: after the speedometer died my battery was always low, are those two connected? Maybe the speedometer keeps on sucking charge from my battery?
Sounds like you need a new battery.
Your battery is goin bad. I would go get it check out
It's connected. My died speedometer drained the battery last month.
How much is a new gauge?
