Because of you I went vegan I've literally watched all your vegan videos with a pen and paper lol everything was easy to find at the store and I don't feel overwhelmed😁 4th day in thank you!
Kim, these tips are spot on!! I have a few as well: 1. Start cooking/preparing most of your meals now if you don't already. Make cooking your norm. 2. Also, fall in love with produce. Start learning to prepare veggies/fruits that are so tasty you don't even realize you skipped meat. Try/retry new veggies. 3. Subscribe to Vegan RUclips channels for inspiration. This one is my favorite 😊
@5%LowBattery I need to be where you are because it's so hard to find plant based items in my area. As someone who grew up meat free, I can honestly say I have never seen vegetarian/ vegan items sold out like they've been 😭
Quarantine changed the way I looked at food. With no distractions I started seeing my food as just dead animals and I couldn't shake it. I just quit cold turkey and went vegan and honestly, I'm having a great time. I've been watching videos just to maintain my momentum and I'm so glad I stumbled on your channel!
For years now I cut out pork, red meats, and beef, dairy, I already been drinking almond milk I hate regular milk nasty 🤢 lol but l..... I currently eat chicken, seafood and turkey. So I’m trying I gradually transition I want to drop the turkey next !!
hey girl if you need more reasons and motivation on why you should be vegan check out earthlings, it is a documentary on how animals are exploited for us as humans i really hope it helps you in your transition
I'm a self declared flexitarian at this point. I only eat meat and dairy 2x a week. Hoping to make the big jump to veganism soon. As she said meal prepping and planning helps a lot. Awesome video !! 👍💖👌
Just be careful with the carbs. I was a vegan over a year and my sugar level went off the charts because all the carbs were changing to sugar..Just some advise because everybody body is different.🤗
I appreciate at your comment because the flexitarian style of eating has given me great results especially with my daughter. For me getting her involved allowed us both to not have a tug a war on snacks. The carbs I can also relate to and have since change up alot of my choices combined with intermittent fasting. I am feeling much more energy these days
I love this video. I wish I could have looked at your other videos before I started my plant based journey. I went plant based in November of 2019 because I'm a type 2 diabetic and I had a serious scare. I had a blood sugar reading of 511 and my A1C level was 13.6. I knew I had to do something about my health. I went plant based and since November I have lost 35lbs and my levels have went down to 6.9. I feel so better now. Thank you for sharing your tips and I love your channel.

I've been vegan over 4 years now!! You were definitely someone who highly influenced me. All your meals always looked so fun and tasty. Love this video and love your hair
I’ve been doing meatless Mondays for years. I don’t eat red meat. Never ate pork. I’ve been trying out vegan foods and eating plant based foods and I am really really considering going vegan January 1, 2022 for health reasons. This video is a great help. Thank you 😊
GIRL, YES on the "everyone is a nutritionist". I had someone tell me, just recently...that Almond Milk has regular Milk. I damn near fell on the floor. Mind you I've been vegan for almost 5 years now. LOVE your channel and I have tried some of your recipes.
I can relate to your transition to plant based, Kim. Over 10 years ago, I just started to get turned off by meat and slowly went from pescatarian, vegetarian, and then in 2020 I’ve been happily plant based vegan for 2.5 years :) its a journey! thanks for making this video! 🌱💕
I love the vegan crumbles. I no longer purchase ground meat and no one can taste the difference. I've made spaghetti, lasagna and a number of other dishes with it. I am not Vegan but I do love incorporating vegan meals/ingredients into my diet. Thanks for your videos I always watch to see what new items to try or inspiration for my next vegan dish!
I just made a vegan lasagna but couldn't find any vegan crumbles so I improvised by buying Gardein vegan beef burger from a local grocery store and tofurky Italian sausage from Trader Joe's and blend the two and it came out like a nice crumble and used in the lasagna, it was delicious my husband and mom loved it as well and couldn't tell if it was vegan.
Wow! I was literally going through your old videos to assist me with the vegan diet since I’ve never tried it before and then BOOM you posted this. Thank you!

I'm literally making my shopping list for tomorrow for the week. I think i want to go pescatarian for now because i love salmon too much. But I feel like i can veganize my breakfast and lunch. I'm excited!!!!
I love how informative this was Kim. I’m vegetarian slowly transitioning (seafood is my kryptonite) and your videos and recipes helps. Thank you for always sharing with us.
I kid you not I told myself I'm going to start changing my diet up and started preparing a healthy meal and this video popped up.🙈 I guess this is confirmation I'm on the right track. Great video. Much love 💖💖
Great video! I have tons of vegan recipes saved on Pinterest! I just have to make them! I have already eliminated dairy from my diet and have been making green smoothies. This has motivated to continue on my journey.
I love watching your videos. Everything you’re mentioned in this one reminds so much of plant base lifestyle. Thank you so much for all your tips and meal planning.
She is not lying about planning your meals for the week!!! This helps keep you focused in the grocery store and saves you money because you’re not picking up random stuff. I plan my meals to use a lot of the same ingredients. If I am slacking on meal prepping, I will cook a lot of what will go in multiple recipes on Sunday or Monday and it makes cooking easier during the week.
My husband and I were both vegetarians when we met and he became vegan when I did this past January. It also took me years to fully transition out of dairy but at the same time I mostly ate vegan at home. Veganism was always my end goal even though at first I thought I could never leave cheese, but it just naturally started grossing me out over time lol. It’s honestly the best decision I’ve ever made, I’ve never been happier and healthier and the change in every aspect is so incredible. I can’t imagine living any other way❤️
Thank you for making this!!! ❤️ I love how truthful you are in saying you just have to be okay with being the oddball out and also about how people are rude about people being vegan, but it’s about them not you. Thank you! Also, you are so beautiful!
The tofu really helps for your egg substitute. She has a video for that. I have place it in a bowl with all my ingredients so the tofu can get all the flavors. Then cook it up. Its really good
I don't do soy so I can't eat tofu. You are correct everyone becomes a nutritionist. Lol. When I'm going to a function I either eat well prior or bring my own food. I've been vegan for about 8 years and I'll never go back. Great video!!
This is such a great video for anyone who’s newly vegan or looking to become vegan but not too sure how to start! Eliminating slowly was a tactic that worked well for us ✨
If you use superfood powders like moringa and chlorella in your smoothies they both have b12 in it. Also they’re both super nutritional !! For all my smoothie lovers out there who want to get the most out of their smoothies
Thank you for this video! I'm type 2 diabetic with a need for change. I'm starting to look at meat on my plate as dead animals and after watching your video and reading a lot of the comments, that's a good time to start thinking about converting over to vegan. I'm getting ready to binge watch your videos sooooooo🤣...Thanks again! Blessings
That's so true. I'm trying to eat more healthier and loose weight in certain areas. It's a process but I'm getting there. I just started eating rye bread. I absolutely love bread so that rye bread is better for me.
You're awesome girl, keep it up. Thank you for all your great ideas & insight. I've been vegan for over 3 years and I also feel & look much better now than I ever did back then.
I must say this is spot on as a recently transitioned vegetarian in a diverse household. Although I am not vegan but your videos still inspire me and help me develop new meals that fit my diet. Keep up the great content!
I am gradually transitioning to full vegan. I’ve been following you for years started because of your make up..always looked at vegans as weird/bland. I became overweight, depressed and fatigued. Guess what..I chose to live! I am slowly healing from the INSIDE out. This was a awesome video..THANK YOU!
I'm vegetarian right now. I started on the first day of February, so it's almost my fourth month doing it. I originally did it as a bet to my friend who said that he couldn't not eat meat. I've done it before for a month a year or two ago, so I said I could do it for a year. But now, I'm liking it. I don't really miss meat. The rest of my family eats meat, but my mom is supportive and buys things for me for my eating style now. But it kind of feels weird, like I'm not going all the way there. That's why I'm thinking of going vegan, but I don't know. I like cheese and eggs (I know some consider this a meat, I don't and neither does my vegetarian friend, whom I took after). This is going to be a problem for me. I can easily take out meat. I can substitute my milk. But I like stuff with dairy products in it, like baked goods and boiled eggs and omlets and pizza. I haven't done my reasearch, and maybe there are alternatives these, but I want to fill my body more with whole foods, rather than alternatives to whole foods to avoid animal products. But like I said, I haven't done my research yet. Maybe these alternatives are whole foods or contain whole foods
It sounds like you’re an octo lacto vegetarian. It means you are a vegetarian that doesn’t eat meat or seafood Brit still consume eggs and dairy. That is what I’m striving to become.
I’m in a mixed household also. My husband and son are meat eaters and I’m a vegetarian with vegan tendencies. I eat mostly vegan items and don’t consume dairy but I still use things like honey and eggs. I didn’t transition just went vegetarian one day. I feel like I’ll eventually be vegan.
My entire household eats meat also. I've been a vegetarian I think for 13yrs. Like you I woke up one day and said today is my last day eating meat🤷🏾♀️
Similar. Thanksgiving 2019 was my last full meal w/ meat. I was just tired of cooking meat initially. Then I saw the documentaries. THEN I noticed positive body changes so that's when I stuck with it. I still have the occasional piece of prosciutto or mozzarella, but that's my business lol.
I watched a netflix movie that included real scenes of a beef processing plant. So pissed! They need to put warnings on that ish! The closeup scene of the cow's eyes, right before being killed, reminded me of my poopy pants (my dog), and I couldn't eat dinner that night (we had beef). I thought I'd be over it in a week. Nope. Thought hey, chickens aren't that cute, so I could eat that. Nope. Then I thought I'd be able to eat fish since they're ugly, and aren't like, _real_ animals (sarcasm). Nope. Thought I'd definitely finally get over it w/in a couple wks or months max. Nope. It's now been over 2 yrs and I'm still waiting to be able to eat that Chick-fil-A sandwich again, or sushi, gyros 😩!! That's prob a pipedream at this point.😑
@@asideofaioli4630 Ahahah such a funny way of going doing the list of animal flesh you no longer consume! That was me too. I am getting to that point with fish too tbh. I just cannot stand seeing then swim, with eyes living, and then they end up on my plate 🤢 and I used to love eating fish! I was a pescatarian, rarely eating shrimp, but was a huge fish eater...but now....I am pretty much over it lol.
I'm vegan but unfortunately I still get acne. Other things could be causing it though like what I'm using on my face or other reasons. It isn't always your diet. But eating healthy & drinking a lot of water helps, as well as having a good skincare routine with products that suit your skin :)
Love the video Kim! I think I am ready for the transition. Its the mixed household issue that will be hard. Having to cook to appeal everyone's appetite already is hard as it is. Lol.
Thank you for this. I have been researching and trying to figure out recipes to transition into becoming a vegan. 😊 It is something I have been wanting to do for a while. It is also about becoming more healthier for wanting to change the way I eat and put into my body.
Great tips! Especially being willing to stand alone. I wanted to go vegan as a teenager, and I immediately got naysayers and pushback. I'm 31 now and never gave up, always kept it as a goal, and when I started to live alone, I gave up all excuses. But I knew it was meant for me to be vegan, for health and ethics. Many vegans and vegetarians agree that the social aspect is actually the hardest. When you get the hang of preparing and eating vegan food then that's easy. But social situations are hard. People not having anything for you to eat, people always commenting on what you are eating (or not eating), and the questions and comments. But having some go-to responses to common questions are helpful.
I have been listening to my body and it’s totally not reacting to meat well so I’ve been cutting it out slowly. I hope i start to feel better bc of this change.
I’m trying to get to total vegan. I’m At the seafood phase. I have been okay eliminating chicken, pork, beef and other meats. I have really enjoyed this journey and I have so much energy. Can’t wait until I’m 💯% vegan. You tips are so helpful!!
I absolutely love this video! I don't consume dairy of any kind, so I often find myself eating vegan items. I went vegan for one month a year ago, and watching your videos and using Pinterest helped. I definitely go to Vegan restaurants, since it's safer for me to make sure I have dairy free options.
it's crazy cuz that's exactly how me not wanting to eat meat happened. just the random turn off of it, i started to hate looking at beef or chicken. that's how my journey started. also i really wanted to do this for a while cuz ive had skin problems for the longest time and my doctor said i should be cutting down all dairy but of course i didn't listen so here i am! i wanna make a start now. thank you luv 💗
Camila, I recommend you watch Game Changers on Netflix to answer the question about protein. Protein is in beans, whole grains, and vegetables. I wish you the best! 😊
I would love for u to do a vegan freezer meal prep video!!! With the way we are staying inside now I would love to just pack some meals away for days I just wanna drop something in the Crock-Pot and go
Love this. I'm just starting my plant-based journey now, at 56. I need to catch up on your other vids, they're so good and speak to me! New subscriber. Thanks so much!
you’re so helpful. i rarely can sit and watch someone just talk to a camera through the whole video. but you are so helpful and made such good videos 🥰
Great food tips. I try to eat a meatless meal at least once a day it really helps my digestive system. I'm edging more toward being a vegetarian just learning more and more about what foods work best for my body and lifestyle. Your food ideas have come in handy down through the years. 🙂
Thanks for making this! I have been living with fibroids for years and am getting them removed soon. After I recover, I plan to transition to plant-based and Vegan. I've been slowly transitioning for a year now, but I'm shooting in the dark here as far as what the next step is.
It's been so cool watching your videos and channel growth over the years! I've been here since the beginning and have learned so much from you along the way :)
Earth balance I put it cookies cakes and in other dishes. They can’t tell the difference. I have a 4 and 10 year old and a meat and potatoes hubby. But slowly we are eliminating certain meats. Hubby didn’t eat pork so that was a simple switch. Now working on red meat. Thanks for the tips!!!
Not gonna lie, it’s like I knew this (from years of research) but I really really needed to hear it all over again! Mainly because I’m ready to take this seriously now but seriously, thank you for this video. Love it 🥰
Going back vegan December 10. On my bday. I was vegan for 2 years then fell into depression and stopped for 2 years. Worst mistake ever. It’s so hard to go back now I’ve tried and failed so many times and I’m so mad. Now I wanna go back and imma try again. Imma try your tips instead , and not go cold turkey. Wish me luck :) I wanna transition over 3 months!
Thank you so much for this video!!! I've begun changing my diet slowly over the past year and I'm currently a pescatarian who is considering moving to a vegan diet. This video helped tremendously and I'm really grateful for all the tips.
I love how encouraging you are! One of my biggest setbacks from transitioning into a vegan lifestyle earlier was the negativity that some vegans display. I think way more people would consider veganism if they watched videos like yours. Thank you and wish me luck on beginning my vegan journey!
Miyokos Creamery Butter, Cultured Vegan, European Style is a great vegan butter! Taste like “ I can’t believe it’s not butter”. Just ranch is a great alternative too. Great for those just starting and tastes most like the real thing.
Thank you for this vlog I'm transitioning to become a vegetarian and I was petty hard on myself the earlier part of this year and now I'm really learning to love and accept the transition part of becoming a vegetarian
Thank you so much. I have started towards the plant-based lifestyle - still learning and gradually moving that way; right now I guess I call myself a flexitarian, mostly still including seafood...for now. I'm working on my prepping. Your videos have been so helpful and simple. Thank you. I have subscribed.
I been thinking about becoming veg since about 2016 until now....now i think is the year for me to start since its not going to be much meat out there because of the pandemic...much easier transition for me.......i been watching your vegan videos for a while and im taking notes on this video thanks 💜
Assistance Challenges of reading food labels: In addition to what you have shared, I like to read READ THE FOOD LABELS FROM BOTTOM TO TOP. At the BOTTOM OF THE LABEL, you will find it may say, “ “ MAY CONTAINS... or CONTAINS...They usually will have all things listed that you may be trying to stay away from. I REALLY JUST FOCUS ON THE BOTTOM PORTION OF THE LABEL unless I am trying to be more health conscious, then I may read the rest of the label. I will skim through the rest of the label. If you see CONTAINS: MILK or EGGS on label then it will prompt you to put the product back on the shelf...this method cuts down on the time reading food labels tremendously....It usually takes me a literal second to glance at it to know if the product is an option or not...b/c I know what I’m looking for.
Seafood will probably take the longest to let go of because I am an islander so that is a common food to eat and more accessible. Also, we are slowly getting vegan options on my island aside from the veggies and beans.
For finding vegan and veggie restaurants in your area, try HappyCow! It’s an app and website that lets you filter from regular restaurants with vegan/veggie options, vegetarian restaurants and completely vegan restaurants. It’s helped me out so much. :)
i loved this video so much... im currently on my way back to being on a plant based lifestyle... i've gone back n forth on meat eating for the past 3 years. i did 10 months with no meat then i went back at the end of 2019... but now i've been meat free for 1 month
I really enjoy your channel. I am a new vegan, almost 6 months now. I would love to get your receipts on various dishes on making meatless dishes. Your baby boy is a doll baby. He is so verbal. Great job Mom!!! God bless you.❤❤❤
I went vegan overnight and feel incredible 👌 best decision I’ve ever made. I always felt sick and had headaches.
So true! It has been the best decision I made as well. I used to have chest pain all the time but that went away as well as my anxiety/depression.

The tofu really helps for your egg substitute. She has a video for that. I have place it in a bowl with all my ingredients so the tofu can get all the flavors. Then cook it up. Its really good
@@Martina_E is there a video you would recommend for the chickpea scramble. That sound interesting. I have not heard of it
😂
I don't do soy so I can't eat tofu. You are correct everyone becomes a nutritionist. Lol. When I'm going to a function I either eat well prior or bring my own food. I've been vegan for about 8 years and I'll never go back. Great video!!
I’ve decided I’m going vegan when I come back from basic training and I can not stop watching your videos they are soo insightful
This is such a great video for anyone who’s newly vegan or looking to become vegan but not too sure how to start! Eliminating slowly was a tactic that worked well for us ✨
I'm never dissappointed when it comes to watching your videos. Great information!
Blessings
Slowing giving up meat. I love seafood too much to give it up. I think I’m a pescatarian❤️
Have you considered the mediterranean diet.
You can still have seafood as a vegan you should look up vegan seafood boil, it’s vegan chimp and crab
I absolutely loveeee pescatarian diet 😍💯
That's so true. I'm trying to eat more healthier and loose weight in certain areas. It's a process but I'm getting there. I just started eating rye bread. I absolutely love bread so that rye bread is better for me.
You're awesome girl, keep it up. Thank you for all your great ideas & insight. I've been vegan for over 3 years and I also feel & look much better now than I ever did back then.
Food looks delicious 😋 I have been Vegan/Raw for 15 years and feel soooo much better. I did a lot of research before I began this journey 🙌🏼🙌🏼
I have been thinking about starting a plant base diet, your video was so relatable, and you covered everything. Thank you for this.
That's amazing! So nice to have supportive people in our lives
*if I switch to vegan I DONT wanna see NO bumps on my face, period!* 💯
Boss Queen same girl I want to lose weight and get rid of my acne
Dairy causes acne and a million other problems
I'm vegan but unfortunately I still get acne. Other things could be causing it though like what I'm using on my face or other reasons. It isn't always your diet. But eating healthy & drinking a lot of water helps, as well as having a good skincare routine with products that suit your skin :)
I felt this!!! Amen amen
I have really bad eczema and I don't break out. I know I can't do to much of certain things, but I have gerd so I have to be careful.
Can you do a video on how you manage living in a household with meat eaters while being vegan?
I remember when you were pescatarian
I can't believe I've been following for over 5 years wow.
I had to play the video 2x I wasn't paying attention, your glow is captivating.☺
Thank you so much Cee Cee ❤️
Yea thats exactly what i did when i became a vegetarian. I gradually eliminated each meat group. Im gonna do it again. Love your video. Thanx
lily lee I can go vegan milk cheese meat are so good th
it's crazy cuz that's exactly how me not wanting to eat meat happened. just the random turn off of it, i started to hate looking at beef or chicken. that's how my journey started.
also i really wanted to do this for a while cuz ive had skin problems for the longest time and my doctor said i should be cutting down all dairy but of course i didn't listen so here i am! i wanna make a start now. thank you luv 💗
Yesterday was my birthday. Couldn’t go anywhere so we had a bbq. I had all vegan food it was good.
My mom isn’t letting me do this because she says I need the protein but I’m still going to tryyy 🙂I know I can get my protein from other things
Camila Miles try vegan protein shakes!
Camila, I recommend you watch Game Changers on Netflix to answer the question about protein. Protein is in beans, whole grains, and vegetables. I wish you the best! 😊
Went vegetarian from watching you. Then went keto. Now, I am off keto and will go back to it. Was the best thing for my particular body and risks.
I needed this video omggg. I just started on my own journey for health reasons and I’ve been struggling to make up meals. Thank youuuuu
You gave such good advice for those of us just starting to transition. Thank you so much💚
Love this video!! Can you do a “how to prepare tofu” dedicated video? I swear I have tried it 10 different ways and I still hate it. :(
you’re so helpful. i rarely can sit and watch someone just talk to a camera through the whole video. but you are so helpful and made such good videos 🥰
Great food tips. I try to eat a meatless meal at least once a day it really helps my digestive system. I'm edging more toward being a vegetarian just learning more and more about what foods work best for my body and lifestyle. Your food ideas have come in handy down through the years. 🙂
I’m curious to know how you are able to navigate in a mixed diet home. Are you still able to cook meat for others ?
This is what I am curious about too....
I do. I cook the meat for others and prepare my meals as well. My family does the tasting if i need them too but other than that no problem.
Yes. Be a short order cook.
My mom doesn’t eat red meat, but she would cook it for us, but ask us to taste it to see if it needs “something “ else.
PYTexan I was wondering the samething. Hope she sees your comment.
The different options given for those who may not know what is avaliable for this type of lifestyle is great.
This video is long overdue lmao I went vegan and stopped so many times lmao
I did the same thing. I went pescatarian 2012, vegetarian 2015 , then vegan 2017;2018
I went a whole year being vegan and stopped. Now I’m getting back into it. I felt my best then.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Sis, same!
True. Me too
Not gonna lie, it’s like I knew this (from years of research) but I really really needed to hear it all over again!
Love this! Tofu scramble is my go to!
You are sooo right. I felt overwhelmed by all the rules.
This is so good and practical. I was looking for the “how” in this transitioning process. THANK YOU!
Thank you so much. I have started towards the plant-based lifestyle - still learning and gradually moving that way; right now I guess I call myself a flexitarian, mostly still including seafood...for now. I'm working on my prepping. Your videos have been so helpful and simple. Thank you. I have subscribed.
I have literally been talking to my vegan friends about the transition. This was so helpful !!
This video is quite helpful. Thank you. I am considering transitioning into the vegan lifestyle.
For finding vegan and veggie restaurants in your area, try HappyCow! It’s an app and website that lets you filter from regular restaurants with vegan/veggie options, vegetarian restaurants and completely vegan restaurants. It’s helped me out so much. :)
I have been vegan/vegetarian for eight years, I love this! Thank you for sharing!!
i loved this video so much... im currently on my way back to being on a plant based lifestyle... i've gone back n forth on meat eating for the past 3 years. i did 10 months with no meat then i went back at the end of 2019... but now i've been meat free for 1 month
Kim it's such a blessing that your channel has grown so much! You are my first vegan inspiration xo
I really enjoy your channel. I am a new vegan, almost 6 months now. I would love to get your receipts on various dishes on making meatless dishes. Your baby boy is a doll baby. He is so verbal. Great job Mom!!! God bless you.❤❤❤
