I dont doubt that Cheung had skill and attributes. But his story about being the sole inheritor of a secret traditional Wing Chun that can only be passed onto one person is completely ridiculous. And he wasn't allowed to talk about it until after Ip Man's death. Pretty convenient that the only guy who could confirm his story was dead.
This is a personal video of mine. That my younger kung fu brother, put on the Internet for about five minutes, before we told him to take it down. There’s another part to this whole thing where , Ip Chun prefoms baat jaam do. And other things aswell. He Felt that the world should know what was being said about William Chung. There is a lot more personal conversation. So I told him to take it down because it might offend. Also we have made an agreement with Ip Chun not to put it up. So when you got this, to me you got lucky.

It is my belief that Sifu Cheung most likely learned a version of Hung Fa Yi Wing Chun and further varied it at a point in time after studying in Ip Man’s school. A comparison of 3 styles of SNT including Moy Yat, Hung Fa Yi and Sifu Cheung’s version can be seen on ‘SNT Comparisons KFT’ on RUclips.
Maybe William cheung was lazy and was not the best understand all the aspect of the wing chun aspect, but Moy Yat the youngest to be raised at the master level by Ip Man himself, that mean a brilliant brain who understand the wing chun the fastest, said William Cheung was the best in wing chun fighting application. So at the time he was a student. Ip man himself was famous because of his fighting skill and modern teaching more than his complete knowledge of the entire wing chun.
I can't attest to the Ip children's skill. But they did not reunite with father until about 1962. The best Ip Man students in my opinion were all trained in the 1950s, and some of the worse were trained after. As far as William Cheung being lazy. Look at pictures of William Cheung in the 1980s. He has a body similar to Bruce Lee. William Cheung is still giving seminars and teaching to this day.
Leung Ting W T is focused on light chi sao like the William Cheung wing chun. the center line work is approximatly the same quality. But the leung ting stance is bad for modern combat. And his school is an expensive industrial business of masters making. That's not a good sign of quality.
I think he was the one filming Ip Man doing the wooden dummy just before his death. You can see a younger man walking around. Either the younger son or grandson.
My opinion too. No record of Ip Chun as student who practiced wing chun. None of Ip Man's most famous students talked about teaching him anything. And it's well known that Ip Man was not teaching directly. He thought the first students that they had to teach the newcomers. I'm not saying Ip Chun is nat telling the truth about William Cheng. Anyway. We will never know now

With all due respect Julian, William Cheung does not have the best reputation and for good reason. So many claims he has made that are just words from his own mouth, and I even trained in his lineage for a bit before moving on. Honestly if there was a fight between a prime William Cheung vs an amateur MMA fighter, there is very little chance Cheung would win, what's the only RECORDED fight of cheung? The boztepe video....
All I see is a lot of William Cheng cult following not realising that ip chun will know his own father better. Than a student. I am neither impressed by both. One claims secrets which is crap and another is slow
The irony of Ip Chun calling William Cheung lazy ! William Cheung looked very fit well into his advanced years. He built a large school of students all around the world and was way ahead of his time in regards to marketing himself. Pretty impressive for the laziest Wing Chun practitioner. On the other hand, Ip Chun looks like he hasn’t trained one day in his life. All I hear is jealous comments from a couple of “lazy” Wing Chun nerds !

Sifu Ip Man IS on William Cheung's left side in the photo in this video...so what are you talking about??

Ip chun didn't even study with his father until much later when the old man was way past his prime. Ip chun cashed in on his father's fame.

He never thought kung fu was useful, he started WC at 40 years old, he's never had a fight. He only got into Wing Chun for money.
