Needs to be home and away… One game in the states one in Mexico
there more money in the united states.
Agreed! It's the only way we can really compare the true level of each league.
This Leagues Cup is meant to benefit MLS in all ways: promotion and attraction of the US market, economic gain since Mexican fans are more likely to fill up venues in support of their favorite Mexican team, US teams enjoy the comfort of being at home, etc. etc.
Well I would say they could do the home and away for the quarter, semis and final matches. As well as 1 year one USA hosts that initial spam through the round of 32 and the next Mexico does it, and then it moves to a 2 match quarter final, etc, etc. Unless they wan a keep the fast paced 1 match elmination where which ever country hosts will have that large advantage but I like the 2 match system just you would have to plan it so it doesn't cut through either leagues season as it is rn with liga mx
But let’s be real over there in Mexico it’s worst with the cartels, I totally agree but knowing the cartels will be impossible to even have a match
I’m American and I think it should be one home and away
Same
Or just the higher seeded team hosting
Why is it in the US? Because of money. You make more dollars playing games there and the Mexican teams would rather the extra dollars than extra home matches. Sad reality.
So Mexicans are sold out?
😊
Whole reason the tournament exists lmao, I don't doubt it being dissolved after a couple of years once people see it for what it is, or they switch it to a single elimination tournament
@@Profesor_haterit could be a decent tournament tho
32 teams vs 18 team... yeah a total disadvantage lmao, imagine how easy it would have been for mls to divide the west conference and east conference to match 18 vs 18... but nope its all rigged just for an mls to reach the finals and to win the whole tournament, not to mention its also weird considering you have Mexican teams playing against eachothers... almost like no matter what, MLS teams will go through the playoffs and reach the finals 🤨🤷♂️🤦♂️
And the fact that mls sides play many of their games at home. Players get to travel less rest in their own beds ect… whereas Mexican sides are on the road for nearly a month constant travel, airports, hotels different training grounds.
I think there should be games in Mexico, that being said, Chivas, Cruz Azul, Atlas, Monterrey, Club America, Pumas, and Tigres take over stadiums. Chivas literally just took over Kansas City.
What? So all the American teams play home?
That’s crazy... Don’t make any sense!
It’s very rigged this tournament lol
If Inter Miami wins then it’s confirmed 😂
It’s all for messi
@@highlightclips4383it’s not if it’s when sad af really
Ronaldo fans spotted 😂
This tournament has been unfair for liga mx teams but only mls fans dont see that or act stupid and clueless not seeing what's really going on, and now with messi everyone in the USA loves futbol, i meant soccer 😂😂😂
ITz CalEd SoCeR 🤢
I was surprised every game was in the USA
Honestly, the cup is fixed for Messi's Miami to reach the final. The big 3 are Tigres, Rayados and America and only one can reach the final. Cruz Azul and America are both from the same city, but Cruz Azul got South and America Central, even if America is located more in the south and to the east.
It is fixed and they put the big mexican teams to face off eachother and have more chance for messi and miami to avoid playing those big teams
I agree if Inter mami didn’t have Miami they primly wouldn’t get past groups plus also considering the robbery taken place against America
@@Generalstormygk went off his line in pks, and they also gave up a last minute goal. They robbed themselves
@@DeeEditor1 u can say that but they had the win the game was officially over that what I mean once the game ends it ends but the refs saw something they didn’t see during the game and they re opened the game something u clearly can’t do
@DeeEditor1 what about all the extra time they added for Nashville to get a chance to tie and go to penalties, then the clearly hand ball that the ref to a long time to review when it was a clear hand ball
Remember that it is not only where the games are played, the main disadvantage for the mexican teams is the calendar in which the leagues cup is played, the mexican teams just finished preseason and are starting the tournament, while the mls teams have played more than 20 matches in their season.
I could make the same argument in reverse for the CONCACAF Champions League. Liga MX is in the final bit of their season and MLS is still in preseason form
Put it this way. The concacaf champions league had been running for many many years and the games are fair (home and away) as it should be. 14 titled for Mexican sides and only 1 title for an mls side in the modern champions league format.
There’s your answer. The leagues cup is and unfair joke.
When it comes to travel field difference and just overall home advantage it give the MLS teams a way bigger advantage not so much fan based but everything does play a role but would love for MLS to go to Mexico and players can get a feeling of playing in a different environment
This is set up for Messi to win again 😒
It’s a stupid tournament that nobody wanted. The US faces Mexico all the time in international play, and last year we had the all star game. This is just a silly knockoff of the UCL.
Finally this guy saids something right for once. Rare for him to be giving respect to Mexico or Mexican teams in general.
Thank you bro 😎 if you see it . That means this is only for the money and for MLS to get knowledge and experience.
For us as a Mexican , it just waste our time,
LIBERTADORES WE NEED TO RETURN THERE
SUDAMÉRICA .
Pretty sure Columbus walked into Mexico and took out multiple powerhouse clubs lol 😂
The league cup, Lol I don't even watch the tournament its a waste of time .. Concacaf shame on you..
It’s not unfair when the liga mx signed a contract saying they would be okay with only playing in the us
Its unfair. Because its waste of time. All players n coaches want to play in copa libertadores. No one cares about this. This is all usa propaganda and mls.
It's rigged just like the gold cup and concachampions (back in the day)
Yeah all those rigged gold cups mexico won
One league has no salary cap....
It is rigged, and they know it unless the Mexican teams want to accept the challenge as a one-way test.
I know plenty of semi pro players who look skillful in one environment and can not play at all in other environments.
I feel like it is a test of the truth of your fundamentals because if you play different and have good fundamentals, it should give you the advantage of doing things they don't understand at a skillful level.
wrong, fool. This is all about money and the mexican federation agreed to this because they can make more money lff of mexican americans than they would if mls teams went to mexico. You want to talk about fairness, talk to the mexican white collars 🤷♂️
It's a disadvantage for sure, but it's a disadvantage that balances out the superiority of the top Liga MX teams.. not so much for the lower tier MX teams.. if Liga MX have decided to play this tournament under these terms, it is because they felt they could do it competitively, now the Liga MX teams should embrace it as a challenge to overcome those disadvantages, the same way that the MLS teams fought to defend their home turf
Why is this necessary... Why not just make the Champions League better?
not only this tournament, but also Gold Cup and Nations Leagues
it is a qualifier for CCL experiment, next time can do many things, groups of 4, block north to south or bring Canadian Premier League teams
Facts
Idk man theres alot of Mexican Americans such as myself that will go to these games
For sure mls had the advanced to play home and the weather
It’s all about money.
The results so far are low key really even. Last time I saw a detailed breakdown of all results taken together, it was Super even in terms of wins and losses, especially if you ignore results decided by PK. The shootouts have been slightly in favor of MLS clubs, and if those results were 50-50 or even slightly in favor of Liga MX, this whole thing would look a lot different.
The thing is, there's so many more MLS clubs than there is Liga MX clubs. Liga MX actually qualified a slightly higher percentage of its teams to the round of 32 than MLS did but there's still Way more MLS clubs in raw numbers. So there was 12 Mexican clubs in the first knockout round, two of them played each other, and the other 10 were at risk. I think they got 4 of those through, mostly because shootout results went against them 3 to 1 if I recall correctly, and that's not terrible but almost every Mexican club is at risk in every round. There's a whole lot of slots that are guaranteed to some MLS club because there's so many of them in this tournament.
We'll see how it goes at the very end, though. MLS has locked up two spots in the semis, and it would be Incredible if MLS can sweep the top three places.
If they do, that would mean 8 MLS clubs qualify for the Champions Cup (I still think of it as CCL) while Mexico is guaranteed 5 now. 8 to 5 is a sizeable advantage, and I do suspect that a clean sweep of Leagues Cup by MLS very well could put them in a similarly advantaged position in this other tournament.
There's a lot to be said for the process of spamming a large tournament with an ever increasing number of teams from your own league. MLS has figured out how to do that while having home field advantage, and MLS absolutely will continue to add teams. I think it could go past 32, actually. 36 could work out very nicely, and that's exactly double the size of Liga MX.
the 2003 gold cup was split 🇺🇸 played their games here and 🇲🇽 played their games there. all the other teams had to travel back and forth lol that sucked for them
Una desventaja grande no jugar en casa, como es el caso para la NBA o NFL, teniendo la localia es diferente. Si equipos de Mexico o USA jugaran libertadores seria interesante, equipos mexicanos an llegada a finales. Me gustaria ver a equipos de MLS en esa competencia.
Or it could bevthe safely of the players? Did everyone forget what haooen the last time in Mexico when people died? Not safe at all.
As a cruz azul fan it’s impossible to believe that Pachuca Tigre Chivas América didn’t put up any fight.
THEY DIDNT CARE ABOUT THIS CRAP
Is it really tho? There are lots of mexicans here too so it's not like they have no fans
Im sorry but mls n usa national team doesnt do well outside usa. This is why their club games and national games are all in usa.
Mls knows their records in mexico. Its really bad. Not just mexico but central america. They struggle. Because competition and concacaf they favor american side..
This is a joke. They want concacaf to favor mls in champions cup. Now they want winners of sudamerica and libertadores to play 1st n 2nd best teams from concacaf. Guess where they will play. Thats right in usa
Someone said
I thought mexican teams are better. What happened?
MLS has the money I do agree though at least a couple should be held in Mexico but money talks babe
This is why no one can take americans seriously. Everyone can tell all these games favored mls n usa.
Thats why liga mx fans r upset. They dont want this. They want to go back to copa libertadores
Now if mexico goes back. Mls wants to come with them... I WISH MEXICO SHOULD LEAVE CONCACAF. SERIOUSLY. GET AWAY FROM USA
This tournament is not only rigged but it also racist
Leagues cup is trash. I don’t even watch it, not to mention most of the liga Mx teams are clearing their benches.
It’s fair the got a bigger fam base in the us
😂 Mexican teams sleeping in airports
hahahahaha best comment on this video, got me cracking bruh😂😂
Needs to not just be all the best teams on one side tigres america monterrey heck even leon or toluca idec about all in the usa just is bullshit its made for inter to go all the way and play only 1 top mexican team
I think its a great tournament double edge sword ..Chivas plays in the west coast believe me they will feel at home
It’s not about the crowd, more about the traveling. Travel is hard on the body, the elevation, the weather, will throw your athletic performance off because it takes more than 2-3 days to adapt to a new location
Quit whinning and crying
The tournament it’s trash and hella rigged but hey they trying hard to make Messi a champion Atleast an eazy road to the final 🤣🤣🤣
Everyone can see that
Have yall forgotten CCC? Leagues Cup is excellent bc it’s in the States. This is an old video but this guy’s opinion often amazes me how little it’s thought out.
I mean if the Mexican fans could be trusted, then yea...definitely host some groups in Mexico. But recent incidents at the Gold Cup shows why hosting in Mexico shouldn't be on the table in the near future.
Trust bro, there’s some sketchy fans in the US as well, just as in any country in this world.
@@josej2844
Yea but Mexico takes the cake.
@@wil2197fans pulling guns out on players in Argentina, but Mexico takes the cake.. sure bud
You're just being biased now, Americans are crazier when it comes to sports. Remeber that one guy that killed at a dodgers vs giants game
@@wil2197 S... happens in every country during Football competitions.
Mexico should join Libertadores and leave the Yankees playing themselves.
It’s basically a home match for the Mexican teams so quit yapping
Mexican teams have no salary cap and the benefit of up to comparable 8 DPs in some team so where is the "fairness" there?
ITS IN MIDDLE OF transfer window. All games r in usa. Refs are favoring you. Yeaaa.. its a joke.. im sorry we all can see this. League cup is a joke. Its rigged for messi and apple tv deal. All of sudden. They get invite to copa libertadores. What a surprise
What the hell does a transfer window have to do with anything? All games are in USA by design. the mexicans knew this and accepted it, end of story. Bad refs are bad for both teams. Messi and Miami are playing really good. Too bad if you don't like it. Go get Messi on your team, you'll get invited too. Nonsense.@@kem1233
Cap, it’s mexico
Its not rigged the mexican football federation does not want to host
I forgot America definitely did not get robbed after the game but ended mb
@Commanderwolffe40 keeper was off line, yeah you could argue nashvilles was off line at beginning of shootout, but you cant deny America keeper was off
@@VINCIK I can agree but one vital part in which u miss the game ends at the whistle but they refs did something that is not allowed
Its rigged. Everyone can see this. This competiton is meaningless. Its for americans to feel better. When in mexico. Fans r begging to go back to copa libertadores. Now miami is goin to libertadores. Liga mx can go but with MLS. geeeezzz. These americans r something else
The majority of the fans in the staduims are mexican fans, so how is that a disadvantaged 😂
Mexican teams are traveling thru the nation. They get stock in airports and can’t even train. Want more? The only thing I’m waiting for is for the Mexican teams to travel on bus and make it easier for their opponents.
The teams have to travel, which takes a toll on your body. You’ve never played sports if you think home field advantage is a myth
Really Charly? You gonna tell me it’s disadvantage for a Mexican team to play in California? GTFOH
traveling 6 hour flights is still hard on every atlethe
Those guys are stock on airports. A full day on the airport and the next day they can’t even train. They have to rest. It’s a huge disadvantage.
@@gaov9625 also being away from home for a month is debilitating
Bro they traveled all over the u.s wtf I taking about
Yeah because they are teams from California right?
They’re from California, Mexico.
League Cup will always be held in US. It's kind of the entire point of doing it. You have so many Liga MX fans in the US and both leagues want to capitalize on that market.
What does living here have to do with it i bet the fans in Mexico have a bigger hearts for there team but they probably can’t go due to immigration reasons and they would like to see there team play in person which is a reason why the tournament should be played in Mexico
Bro no one is going to Mexico to watch a soccer game unless your a local 😅 instead of putting up excuses for Liga MX let’s accept the fact that MLS owns them just like national squad does 😅 dos a cerro 😂
Id love to see an mls team compete in libertadores 😂 and beat a team like boca in their home stadium infront of their crowd like some liga mx teams have in previous tournaments , you probably are central american 😂 you wont understand .
@@deehlgrm9379bro he called it soccer he don’t know a dam thing about the sport haha
Mexico is only truly good in Mexico. Even in the US the Mexican teams have the cultural heritage of their fans going to the games in the US in big numbers.
This tournament confirms that MLS and Mexico are very close in the overall level of play top to bottom.
It won't be hosted in Mexico because they can raise more money in the US and it's also much safer for the teams and traveling fans too.
I think this is the appeal for the Liga MX clubs. their home fans probably don't care that much about some made-up tournament vs MLS teams, but Mexican fans in the US will pay a lot for the special opportunity to see them
For the safety of they players that’s gotta be racist how come they can go to other countries then
