    I'm quite interested in Liga MX now, how does the relegation work with the two halves system? how does someone in the UK get access to it? Is the skeleton still in Joe's backyard? More on the players that could be coming through would be cool. Why is it rated so low in bands? Although you said band 3 isn't low, but it feels like if Liga MX is in band 3 shouldn't the Concaf champions league be rated higher than 3? So many question.

    • @mashfnch30
      @mashfnch30 3 года назад +10

      There's no relegation at the moment because the 2nd tier is closed off for now but it's not really all that much different from normal relegation/promotion, it's just split into two halves.
      There's a bunch of different platforms everywhere but you essentially need a VPN to spoof a Mexican location to ensure you can watch everything, it's definitely a lot more difficult to watch from the UK than US but more than possible
      The band system is literally just for how the UK allows work permits, it has no actual meaning to any other league or club, and the CONCACAF Champions League is generally a pretty uncompetitive competition because of the lack of quality football infrastructure in North America leading to it basically just being dominated by Mexican teams. In the past 20 years only 2 non-Mexican teams have won it, those being Saprissa & Alajuelense, who are themselves basically the Liverpool & United of their leagues. They won in 04 + 05, but outside of the occassional MLS team the CONCACAF CL is essentially just another domestic Mexican cup

    What I'll say is ironic but I love Alex's enthusiasm here.
    Alex says Liga MX having a closed league is for youth development (the league does say that), but corruption, TV deals and "friends in power" are the real reasons behind it, sadly. Alex talks about it as a progressive measure and, while it isn't IMO, it's nice because of how much negativity there is anyways towards it in the mexican football world, justifiably so.
    In other words, while everyone in Mexico talks trash about our own league, listening to Alex talk about it in a positive way is nice and refreshing.

    Not gonna lie, Liga MX is such a surreal competition and it is actually pretty exciting to see BUT not having the relegation system is such a shame. Not going to lie, since the relegation disappeared it hasn't been the same. If any of you want a team to support I'll recommend mine which is TIGRES UANL, the history of the institution it's quite fascinating and right now it's one of the contenders to become champion.
    I don't know how you guys in another countries can watch the Liga MX, but there are television channels that stream some of the matches for free here in youtube.

      I believe it’s because the second division was close to collapsing due to financial restrictions during COVID but it’ll be back in 2026 I think

      @@cristeromexico3366 segun recuerdo desde como el 2012 fue cuando empezaron a meter mas trabas (el famoso cuaderno de cargos), lo que han hecho desde el 2020 es lamentable y lo que ha dicho Salinas pues no es esperanzador. Una pena, la verdad. Abrazo

    NFL is always undoubtedly #1 in viewers in the USA followed by the NBA then it’s a 2 way race between (your) Football and Baseball

    Wow as a Liga mx watcher since about 2013 , I found a few things I never new knew about. Never knew la volpe influenced guardiola and the PL scout rating for the Liga mx. I really have Liga mx on par or slightly below the Brazilian considering Liga mx.always wins Concacaf.Really enjoyed it !!

    Great job, however Toluca are NOT a minnow, in fact they’ve won the third most league titles behind only America and Guadalajara.
    The league is exciting and is on par with Brazilian Serie A and probably better than the Argentine 1st division due to their ability to pay much higher wages.

    As a Mexican. Now that there isn't relegation (like in USA), you shouldn't care.
