That shirt/nail polish, talking about the 2. Bundesliga... Alex looking like a caricature of a football hipster here. EDIT: Oh God he's talking about the Hanseatic League
Apparently Alex's shirt is from a 1992 testimonial game for a German midfielder and was only ever worn once (see l'equipe des etoiles). If that doesn't scream knowledge of totally arbitrary and pointless football information, then I don't know what does.
My Club Hansa Rostock made it to the 2. Bundesliga after ten years in the third, couldn't have wished for a better constellation with all the other exciting clubs, especially local Derbys against St Pauli, Dynamo, HSV, Werder and Kiel. Thank you for bringing up the Hanse League. 😄 🔵⚪🔴
Hi boys, the comments are off on the Ronaldo video for understandable reasons but seriously huge props for making the video- it was eerily quiet from a lot of football media when it came out in 2018 and its great to see independent football media like you guys spreading awareness that others keep so quiet, so thanks x
This is a hot take but i personally feel that if i were to present the Bundesliga and the Bundesliga2 to a random non-German individual and giv him a choice to watch one, there is a higher chance that they would prefer the latter because of the competitiveness at the top of the league. Not disrespecting any of the Bundesliga clubs in any way,i just feel that this could be the outcome
As a non-German the thing with Bundesliga if there is a new exiting player that destroys the league at the back of my mind that player will play for Bayen Munich in next season or the season after that. It's a Bayern feeder clubs league.
you're giving the general football fan too much credit, as you've assumed that they'd apply logic and value competitiveness. We know this isn't the case as the premier league is the most popular league worldwide despite its crushing anti-competitiveness. It's farcical that teams like Burnley exist in the same league as an Arab State (City). The viewers just accept that the Burnleys simply exist in this league to survive and have no chance of ever actually winning it. The championship league below the premier league is far more competitive, anybody can win it and the fight for the play of spot puts a dozen or so teams in the running. Yet ask the general fan what they'd prefer to watch and they'll pick the premier league. So to return to the question of the German leagues, the average fan would always opt for 1. Bundesliga as they find it more entertaining to watch Lewandowski score 4 goals in about ten minutes, than watch a contested game in the division below in which either team can win it.
I don't know what the average German would prefer. But I do know that the ticket prices are very fan-friendly, so the stadiums are usually pretty full. Teenagers aren't priced out of the stadiums so you see many young people too, which is vital for long-term, obviously. When I visited my friend in Solingen, I bought a ticket for the Köln-Ingolstadt match. I think it was 20 euros for a seat, 10 for a standing place where the ultas are. Even though it was an early Saturday match, 13:30 kickoff, no derby, no history between them, it was still full house, 50 thousand with a beer in hand.
@@WOOOPdoctorFROGhere in the last ten years, the prem has had 5 different winners. The budesliga has had two winners over the past ten years with Bayern winning the last 9 in a row. I think there should be a "Why shouldn't I worry about?" Where Joe has to explain to Alex why he doesn't need to worry about something. Stuff like VAR, diving, international breaks, Kroenkes, Glazers, player discipline, money in football etc.
you deffo should give it a go if you got free time. Its probably best and atleast 2nd division with most big and traditional clubs of all. Literally all fans are mad and every game got insane atmosphere, better than almost all 1st division game atmospheres anywhere. I mean look at who is there-HSV,Bremen,Schalke,Nurnberg,Hansa Rostock and Dynamo Dresden now too,all big traditional teams with insane atmosphere. And football there of course is usually great teams attack and games are interesting af, which is why if you see promoted team getting points from big teams in BL wont surprise you. For example Arminia Bielefeld going to Munich and scoring 3 goals and taking 3-3 draw(wouldve even maybe won if not for "offside" which was given against their favour), or Paderborn 3-3 away vs BVB and stuff like that-you get my point
When football returned to Germany before England I decided to support Koln.... Mostly because I like goats and their mascot is a sweet goat called Hennes. I have really enjoyed having a second team.. Especially a team with such a fine specimen as Hennes.. I think he plays in a sort of Makelele type DM role..
