The sixth album titled Opera is a gut-wrenching musical journey inspired by the tragic mountain climbing accident that occurred to frontman and mastermind Francesco Paoli in 2021.
With this new record, the band are setting the bar even higher than before, pioneering what looks like a completely new sub-genre that might be called Opera Metal: an unprecedented mix of extreme music and theatrical elements.
“The best stories always come from pain, it's a bitter truth yet undeniable.” Francesco P. states. “We managed to turn one of the worst things in life into a work of art, that embodies our personal and artistic growth and takes the listeners on a rollercoaster of emotions, where they can experience what I've been through hand in hand with me. It's a waking nightmare but that's how life is sometimes, just scary.”
“In my visionary representation of this journey, that begins with my near death experience and culminates in a much desired physical and psychological rebirth, I wanted to frame every single step of my calvary, as if they were acts of an "Opera Lirica", with dialogues or even confessions to imaginary characters, who have been constant presences throughout my whole (mis)adventure.
This album tosses you in a vortex of discomfort and uncontrollable feelings, where you can experience pain, fear, desperation, anger, frustration, but also resolve, courage, hope and a profound desire for redemption. I strongly believe that this album is a solid manifest of resilience, and I hope that my story will inspire people who got “lost” for whatever reason.”
"I Can Never Die" is a crushing sonic tribute to artists and their enduring works.
Commenting on the song, frontman Francesco Paoli states:
"Memory is the strongest force in the universe, as it’s the one and only that can give us immortality. It can’t be deceived or shaped to our liking as, in the end, we are what we do and what we leave to posterity faithfully reflects what kind of men and women we’ve been. Some people don’t give the right value to their actions, focusing on immediate profit, and forgetting that our choices have a decisive impact on our and other people’s existence. Especially when you are an artist. It's essential to remember that everything we create outlives us, it has a life of its own and, once it’s brought into existence, it belongs to everyone and we have no more control over it.
Death can occur abruptly any time and there’s no chance to change what it's done, once we’re gone. As far as I’m concerned, one of my first thoughts when I realized that I could have died was “who have I been” and “what am I leaving behind”. I recollected my whole life and figured out how much determination, sacrifice and honesty I’ve put into art and that made me so proud that I would have died in peace.
That’s why we wrote this song, which is nothing but a glorious anthem for all those who commit their existence to art in the purest possible way."

Fun fact for new comers. Francesco is the original singer when they first formed, then he switched to drums for agony, labyrinth, king and veleno (which he did drums, guitar and vocals for) then when they picked up Eugene for drums he went back to just vocals and guitar. Franseco is easily the greatest and most talented musician ever!

From what i heard he wasn't a drummer at all, but they couldn't find one so paoli learned it over the course of a few months and ended up being one of the craziest drummers. not entirely sure this is true tho

Female vocals on the chorus: How an abba-style 80's chorus would have been with a little symphonic blast!!!
Also thought about Abba when hearing it, but I really didn´t enjoy the mix at all. I love Veronica´s vocals in previous releases but this record was a big NO for me. Veronica´s vocals for me are wasted going to a more pop approach. More people could like this and if it works for FA great for them, but their previous stuff was much better for my taste. Can´t make everyone happy. Death parts are still brutal but not enough.
I love her voice, I’m super picky about female vocals 😅❤😊
This song is my favorite of the three released so far. Definitely have some elements of pure symphonic, power metal, and a little bit of pop here. Veronica's cleans and Eugene's blast beats are a match made in heaven. I can't wait to hear the rest!

This song will be forever special for me, My best friend (a girl) tried to commit suicide on August 5th. She was living a little bit far from me but we were talking almost everyday and i love her so much. She suffered from a rare disease that makes her life Hell. She died, but they reanimated her heart. She's now between life and death in a coma and she will not come back. She loved metal more than anything. She heard that song and she loved it. It saddens me since weeks.. I miss her :(

It is surprisingly difficult to write a song in a standard song structure, and even more difficult to make sure the song is perfect.
This song is perfect - Veronica's vocal performance and chorus, integrated with Francesco's powerful vocals, the solo's, Eugene's drum performance, the other Francesco's orchestral deliverance. A perfect storm and I'm so much more excited to hear their future work moreso than I already was.

I am just discovering this band - one of the few times the RUclips algorithm got something right - and I have to say, I am a fan. I thoroughly enjoy groups that juxtapose guttural and operatic vocals - but then they went and sealed the deal with that solo! It fit the emotion of the song so well! I'll be looking for more content from them soon.

Ho capito dove volete parare. Comunque bello. 1 Pendulum per il Virtuosismo chitarra Piano . Bloodclock per il contrasto di Armoniosa brutalità e delicata melodia nel mezzo. Qui per la spiazzante "semplicità" melodica del ritornello di Veronica. (Quello che mi ha Colpito ed emozionato di più è Bloodclock).
