Started listening to Chat Pile at the tail end of 2022. Been non-stop ever since. This is my favorite band of the 2020’s. When you know, you know. Had the same feeling with Converge in the 2010’s and Deftones in the 2000’s
I’m 45 and a music snob. I’m all on board with Chat Pile. This is the exact opposite of elitism. This has to be the greatest band of the last 20-30 years. Their videos are low key and fucking brilliant. Sometimes lightening strikes. Ride the lightening. Nothing to prove, just kick ass.
Really love the extended outro of crawl space, but this is the first time I’ve seen raygun add new lyrics to it. Very chilling, needs a proper studio recording.

everybody in the world needs to hear the opening song. some people need to hear it painfully loud on a loop until they stop making people live outside.
Some want to be out there. Some are junkies. Some are mental. It ain’t just “people are meanies making people live outside.” You know that though. Ask why California made it illegal for police to commit literal crazy people on the street. Those people, once given mental health assistance, ask: “Why did you let me live like that for so long?”. Dr. Drew (California native) talks about it all the time. It’s not as simple as throw money at the problem. California spent billions on the issue with nothing to show for it. Be easy.✌️
Usually when i listen to chat pile, I’m all focused on bass and vocals. But this video has me really appreciating how much the guitar makes for their particular sound. Luther’s guitar tone is downright evil in this mix. It’s so good. Slaughterhouse esp had me tripping out.
