Shouldnt we hold the grip hard and loosen the wrist for whip effect? If I loosen the grip racqet starts to turn in my hand. I generally concentrate on my wrist
They are losing the forest for the trees. You can only loosen the grip once your grip is super tight. It’s a really dumb fine tune adjustment masquerading as a blunt one
This why it’s important to have an adequate swing weight in the racquet. When you swing, you shouldn’t hold the racquet tightly. If there is t adequate Swing weight on the frame, the frame will twist in your hand.
I have to disapoint this guy and tell him that power is absolutely product of muscle contraction. If he disagree I would love him to show me a tennis player that have loose core muscles when hitting a tennis ball.
@@FoobsTon not at all. You have to contract core muscles in order to rotate your shoulders in any direction. Being loose in the wrist and arm, does not mean that muscle contraction is not happening (especially in the core region). He is clearly lost in what term "muscle contraction" means. I doubt anyone holds the racket SO tight it does not create a whip effect. Maybe kids who started to learn how to hit the ball. I would have to try really hard not to create a whip effect. 🤷♂️
I've always struggled with this on the forehand. I have a more WYA style forehand with a tighter grip but bigger swing. If I loosen it for the whip it feels weird.😢
Way I see it everyone has their own style. I literally watch nadal for learning everything and practice it. Right now I’m trying to get his backhand down
I know and heard it before but how do you hold you grip loose? I try not to press my handle but let it be relax. As I just started two years ago so my progress in learning the right technich is so much longer. Tips!!!
You should hold it as loose as possible. If your racket falls out of your hand it is obviously too loose. If your racket wobbels in your hand and your grip changes when you hit a ball it is still too loose. Your grip should not change even when you hit a ball inaccurately. Pros miss the sweet spot every other shot and they are still able to return the ball because their grip is tight enough that the racket doesn't change its direction. If it was too loose all those inaccurate shots would never cross the net.
mine was depending of the situation :o) from the baseline or at net depending of the shot i was looking for :) the length of the grip .. give length right ? :)
I also think the correct grip size, correct grip or overgrip is needed.
Don't play with a worn out overgrip, replace it if it's slipping.
0 cause I throw my racket regularly

Whip effect does not give control. Ball rotation is an element of control in this case.
I hold very loose. Like 2. It gives me power

I'm pretty sure "this guy" knows a bit more than you.

Working on it but kinda difficult, can't find depth.

If I don’t hold my grip at least 40% of force, my raquet goes ✈️, these cheap grips are so bad 😤
When i play i get tense and end up holding my racket with a tight grip. Not sure what to do.

I'm still going to practice muscle contraction though

Tight grip is a symptom IMO of bad technique, like having a backswing
How about the volley?
