    Does anyone know if you're able to turn the audio off? I want to try and mount one inside on the window to record outside. The window I want to use tho is located in a bathroom, so I wouldn't want audio recording there. Thanks

      Agreed. I bought the OG and the sensor is inferior to the V3. Waiting for the the x3 telephoto

    I bought the V3 Pro when it first came out in November 2022. It had many problems and was not as dependable as my several V3's...wifi connection & playback issues. I kept it and Wyze fixed some of the problems but the night vision on the Pro is much darker than the V3. I went back to my V3 and put the Pro in my drawer.....still not as good as it should have been and less dependable than the V3's.

    Well put together video. I was searching youtube hoping to see if the night vision had improved for the pro with the firmware released on December 12th

      It seems to be VERY close to the v3. Unfortunately I had started the video with the older, poorer night vision. Then the firmware update seemed to almost close that gap. The only major difference is the color night vision (no lights), the v3 still out performs the pro there.

    I have 3 new V 3 Pro cameras because 2 of them are replacement cameras from the same issue on all cameras. I updated them to Dec 22nd 2022. And they all say err code 90 playback issue. It gives thumbnails for captured events but it wont play. Am I the only one with this problem?

    I have the Wyze V3. It has been connected to my Verizon Fios 2.4/5G, it was working just fine, but now I cannot connect. Idk what happened or how to split the 2.4ghz for the cam and keep my 5G for everything else. Also I have the Wyze pan which also connected to my Wi-Fi. I have not done anything but follow Wyze’s connection instructions.

    Question: im uncertain about the benefit of the subscription (personally hate recurring costs and dont want that) is motion detection free on the pro and not for the V3?

    I got it (V3 Pro) for the audio… so my family and I can understand eachother, should emergency situations occur. It’s great so far! Don’t really need it for anything else.

    Strange question but can you add the old spotlight accessory to the v3 pro? (I’ve got a v3 mounted under my roof overhang to monitor the driveway and mounted the spotlight in a different spot bc on the camera it just lit up the roof overhang which made that area super bright and the driveway exposure was practically black then. )

      I just checked it with the two I have here and it does not work. The spotlight turns on for a second when you first plug it in but when you activate the spotlight on the v3 pro it just turns on the built-in one.

    Did Wyze ever get back to you regarding using a third party power cable into the back of the camera, and maintaining the IP65 rating?
    I have several V2’s on long power cables (third party), that I’m thinking of upgrading to V3 or V3 pro, all over my garden, for wildlife, and therefore the supplied power cable won’t be long enough for my uses.

    Another thing, I’ve got tree shadows moving from wind during the day and headlight shadows during the night, both triggering alerts all day and night, with the v3 pro can I have it only trigger alert with person detection? Thanks.

      Yes you can disable standard motion detection and just have it alert on person motion.

    I am curious about the night motion vision. V3 standard is fairly blurry when recording something (like a car) in motion at night. Does V3 Pro evidence any improvement in this area?

      I think the limitation here is mostly the infrared. Color night vision has a little bit better job capturing motion in my opinion. But unfortunately most cameras drop their frame rate at night in order to get more light to the sensor. So that was going to give you more motion blur.

    What I don't like about V3 is that they only have 3 days data retention from the SD card. You can't go back on captured continous footage beyond 3 days even with 128 Gb SD card. Which means any events you have captured from 4 days ago, are overwritten. The captured video/image is grainy and dithered that it's hard to recognize faces. I was hoping that the V3 Pro 2K would improve that.

    im not a fan of "color nightvision" it looks pleasing to the eye but in terms of detsils captured on things in motion everything is really blurry, i noticed that while using the V3. and then it hit me. the wyze business model is to make the image appear really good to get people to chose them, vibrant colors, low shutterspeed to increase low light quality and that is why static items look relly nice and detailed but everything in motion sucks.

      On color night vision the frame rate has to drop. Because they are increasing the exposure time.
      I never use it because the black and white is typical so clear.

      No. I did try to connect the spotlight accessory for the v3 to the pro and it doesn't work.

    1440 is my favorite. It’s a nice sweeet spot.. also if anyone is looking for a v3 regular the Wyze shop has a killer deal for a google home hub gen 2 + v3 for 70 bucks, you can get the pan v3 for 10 dollars more. I can’t even find a google home hub for that price let alone with a camera

      I'm not sure. Can you send me a part number for what you're talking about? They're approximately the same size but I don't know if they're exactly the same.

      @@ThisSmartHouse it fit. order 2 for my v3 pro and they fit. worse case i would have send them back to amazone for a refund but i can say the v3 silicone frame for the window mount fit on the v3 pro

    what is confusing is they are calling it the v3 pro, which confuses is with the v3, but it is actually the first pro version camera.
    wyze said in their ama they are planning on making a v4 camera. to add to the confusion, they also said their new og line will be more of their budget line.
    so, that likely means there will be a v4 pro which will actually be a v2.
    and cam plus lite won’t work on any newer camera product lines after april 2022.
    so the v3 is cam plus lite compatible but not the v3 pro nor their og / og telephto “budget” lineup.

      Yeah I agree. They seem to be pushing the pro line as their 2k line. But what happens when they get to 4k?
      I know that the v3 pro has on board person detection so that gets rid of one of the two main feature of lite. You just don't get the 12 sec / 5 min cloud video storage.
      But yeah... Confusing.

    I like the Cam V3 better than the Pro. The pro isn’t working right for me. 😬 Maybe I just need to play with it a bit more but it didn’t take this long for all the other cams to get the hang of.

      I like the software upgrades but I won't be throwing out my v3s. I am actually going to retire my last v2 this weekend...

    didn't i hear recently that wyze cameras have a serious security problem? might have been in a recent episode of security now.

      You're probably thinking of the anker sub brand Eufy. It wasn't necessarily a security issue it was just they weren't being as forthcoming about cloud storage. Their notifications images are stored on a scratch server in the cloud.

      "A Wyze Cam internet camera vulnerability allows unauthenticated, remote access to videos and images stored on local memory cards and has remained unfixed for almost three years.
      The bug, which has not been assigned a CVE ID, allowed remote users to access the contents of the SD card in the camera via a webserver listening on port 80 without requiring authentication.
      Upon inserting an SD card on the Wyze Cam IoT, a symlink to it is automatically created in the www directory, which is served by the webserver but without any access restrictions. "
      They also had a security breach in 2019 and never notified their subscribers.

    I'd rather pay a bit more for another brand that offers 'smart detection' for free than having to pay Wyze every month for those features. BTW, I currently own 3 older Wyze cameras and I don't subscribe to get those features, they should be free.

    Unreliable, notifications stop working on their end and they don't update their webpage - Service Status & Known Issues . If they posted known issues on time a customer can understand that because they can see the outage status, but they have outages and then post it later leaving the customer in the dark.

      1/21/2023 We are currently investigating an issue with customers not receiving notifications. We apologize for the inconvenience.
      I'm glad they do this but the delay is bothering, it went out last night.

      @@ThisSmartHouse The way you narrate your videos is refreshing! I turn off those long drawn out slow talking videos real quick. there annoying. You get to the point and your videos are filled with tons of needed info. People can always pause, and repeat on the video, if their brain is a little slow. And for those who think you don't enunciate, I think they need a hearing aid. Your videos are great! Don't listen to trolls : )

    What a waste of time, the pro is a downgrade over the standard, the manufacturers are a bunch of fools in 2024 if you can create and sell such garbage.
