  • Today we will look at how to set up the Wyze Docker Bridge. This Docker container will allow you to output the video stream from MOST Wyze Cams and put it into RTSP, RTMP, or HLS. Meaning you can put your video into almost any application or NVR! The best part is it can be run right from Home Assistant.
    So check out my easy to follow walkthrough on installation, configuration, and adding to Home Assistant.

    Great video, and very timely! I just received an email notice from Wyze that they will be making 2FA mandatory in the near future. I recalled having just seen this video that referred to how to set up 2FA for the bridge so I came back for a quick refresh. A big help!
    I have a couple of questions:
    Do I have to update the verification code in the /config/wyze-bridge/mfa_token.txt file every time I log into my Wyze account and get a new code?
    Why does the bridge need to access the Wyze servers if it is operating in LAN mode?
    Thanks.

    • @ThisSmartHouse
      @ThisSmartHouse  Год назад

      Glad you like the video!
      1. I don't think you have to update it each time. Once you use the code it exchanges an OAUTH key that the bridge will keep using. You might have to update it periodically.
      2. Because the fallback method is for it to pull a stream from the cloud if it cannot intercept the local stream. I assume I also needs it to find the source of the stream on your local network.

      This will let you use add-ons from home assistant and have the flexibility of installing additional docker containers like homebridge.

    We ended up exchanging this model for the slimmer version ruclips.net/user/postUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQU because it was too wide for the only door trim area that made sense to mount it on. However, we should have just noted the dimensions prior to purchasing. Otherwise, we love the doorbell. It works perfectly, and the video is very clear, even at night.
