Just get a mic. Doesn't really matter. Even an AUX inline mic will be good enough to start off.
Distance to the mic and how well you speak is way more important.
And a pop filter is very helpful. And for that, you can theoretically just use a sock and rubber bands (as long as you're not on video of course).

I do not recommend usb microphones that much. Since they have all of their components pre built into them they tend to last way less that something a lot more permanent like a XLR setup. If you have the budget go for it. If you don't get something with a 3.5 mm jack. (I'm not saying all USB mics are bad. Most are just unreliable. DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE PURCHASING!!!)

Unless you do audio engineering or any work with music production, a whole DAC for just streaming is useless.

I disagree, you can use a dac with your daw for live routing and controlling your stream audio, giving you the ability to process your microphone more professionally, you don't have to be an audio engineer to use the tools that have been made, hopefully you'll be more open minded

If you're gonna get a USB mic, plug it in to the USB 3 port, instead of USB 2, because the USB 2 is slower than Firewire 400 in practice. This is due to the CPU overhead that USB has.

Get an xm8500 and a mtrack solo its just under 100 dollars (can be juat over 60$) and sounda like the sm7b after compression, plus if you want a good one you can uograde to a neuman tlm 102 liek me after 2 years.

Prob the maono pd200x or pd400x, the 400x is $120 and the 200x is $70, both has xlr and usb connection and both sound really good for the low price. I also recommend getting a $40-50 dollar boom arm because they’re too heavy for the cheaper ones
