- Join me in unboxing menu #18, Beef Ravioli in Meat Sauce along with Cheese Spread & Fruit Punch. We heat up the main course over a gas stove. Then we finish it off with a cup of Bill's Brew Coffee and our Maple Muffin Top with M&Ms, making the first MRE Maple Chocolate Chip Cookie.
Aces fingers just going for the M&Ms is becoming a classic. All it’s missing is the slap from papa ace. LOL 😂
If I liked M&Ms he'd have gotten a few slaps, for sure. TFW
@@MeAncient when l was young my mom uset to do that. one day she forgot she had a knife in her hand...l still got a white line over my hand30+ years later...lol
I enjoy seeing what you get and love to hear the stories of your military experience. Ace I am so glad you guys are filming these stories. Just a tip on your powdered drinks or anything else that is powdered. Put the powder in the cup and then pour your water in. My mom taught me that you always put your dry ingredients in first and then the liquid ingredients. This works for cakes, biscuits and other things (of course there are a few instances you do not do this.) So give that a try and you should have an easier time dissolving the juice powder. You can do it the other way but it is more work to get everything to dissolve.
tks for the tip.
Ace is a true goat

Edit: can't wait for next part of the story
Your videos are the best. Love the stories.
Tks for those kind words. TFW!
You should try putting the cheese in the MRE heater with the meal about half way thru the cooking process makes it easier to spread and use
you know it. TFW

Hey, Paige! You still in Minnesota? I've got ham and eggs in a c ration next.
@@MeAncient I'm from Missouri but just moved to eastern Tennessee. Out by Johnson City. If y'all know any good places to fish out here in the mountains let me know please 💜💜💜
Best part of the day when your videos pop up.look forward to it all wk.chris from Australia. 😊👍
Chris, welcome aboard, all the way from the USA to you there Down Under! TFW, mate
I just found your channel here a while back. When I was in I used to carry packets of ketchup and mustard and a bottle of Louisiana hot sauce. I used to swipe the packets of ketchup and mustard from fast food joints. I carried the packets of ketchup mustard in a heavy ziplock bag.
Great idea, Sam. Heavy ziplock bag is a key, me thinks. TFW!
a good tip is whipe the meal packets dry after heating them

Hey Ace and MeAncient! What a awesome story! I've been watching ace for a long time now and so on and so on a fan of me ancient, i live in Groningen, Holland.
And its unreal to hear this story that youve been to the place where i live!
If you ever would like to come to Holland, Groningen i would like to show you around, ps bring your fishing gear😜
Lots of love!

That's cool. If I head your way, I will certainly look you up ahead of time and set something up. TFW!

Thank you for putting me in your video about the gum 😁 always nice to watch your videos. Look forward to the next one!
Tks for the tip about the gum packages and different colors. Do you happen to know what the other flavor's color packages are? TFW
Another awesome video 👍👍
Thanks! I appreciate your kind words. TFW!
This has to be the best video on RUclips!!!
You are too kind.
@@MeAncient not at all sir just speaking the truth
Thanks. I REALLY enjoy your reviews...AND....STORIES! JG
Glad you like them! It's a kick for me to put them together, for sure. TFW!
@@MeAncient You are doing GREAT. Keep up the good work. I like your style of presentation. I watch about a half dozen mre review shows on youtube. PS. I have a canteen that I have been using for about a month. Was something I bought years ago. Just like yours. Watching you I dug in my stash of gear and found another old one(original) I had picked up years ago. It had a case but had a black top with a port in it. I looked it up and that was used to drink water through a gas mask. I took the case off and put it with the new canteen. I just need to get a cup. Thanks for the encouragement.
The reason why those ravioli's look that way is when you put your entree inside those heater sleeves you have to fold it so the water doesn't run out lay it flat so the water could rest against heater and the food packaging that's what those sleeves cover are for to put your food inside so it could be laid down at a slant so your food warms up evenly it doesn't warm evenly when you stand it straight up
This is relaxing 😌 to watch ty sir
TFW! I'm happy you enjoy watching!
I was thinking to myself how ace kept his hands off the mnms ...n sure enough seconds later he grabs some ....hahahh. Love ur videos ....great stuff .
Glad you enjoyed. Tks so much for the kind words. TFW
Love the military stories brotha
I'm glad you like them. I had quite a time in the Corps. TFW
That Beef Ravioli looked so much better after you heated it up on the stove.
Looking forward to the next review.
I'm excited to show everybody and tell a little more about my European experience. We're off to England next.
Loved the story! Makes the videos so enjoyable. Great review as always. That main looked tasty but dry. Thank you for sharing!
It really helped to add the water and put on the stove. Hopefully you saw that at the end. TFW
@@MeAncient I did. That was a great move!!
I would go to military just for these treats!😅💪🏼 thanks for the awesome content and entertainment Sir🙏🏽
I was so absorbed by your story that by the end of it i about forgot there was a MRE review coming up haha
I enjoyed remembering the time and relaying the story. TFW!
Maybe they skimped you on the sugar packet because they thought the m&Ms were enough....😂
Probably.
The us heaters are mediocre at bet this is imo one of the better menues great review guys have a blessed and merry Christmas
I trust you had a blessed Christmas as well. TFW, Chris!
How could I meet this guy I enjoy his content and also where do I get mres from
That information sleeve goes over your feuless heater after you put the meal in to warm up.
When you can make it fit. TFW
I do know in ww2 chef boyardee was making pastas for our troops.. now idk what they make but thats how that guy started the canning company
That's cool. The (now deceased) first billionaire in Idaho, JR Simplot, made his first millions providing dried and canned potatoes for the US Military in WW2. I'd like to hear if anyone knows who provides the ravioli in the meals, for sure. TFW
Love it! Me Ancient, "Now I forgot to rinse that out. It's still got some coffee in it. I who should rinse it out.....nah, it will be fine (and in goes the punch drink)." Haha......a real guy. 😂
TFW and Merry Christmas, Gary!
Let's get this out onto a tray? NICE!!! C'mon, just say it once. I'm sure Steve 1989 wouldn't care, maybe ask him first? He seems nice...You'll go viral I guarantee it...
Ha Ha! TFW
SEMPER FI my brother
The Autobahn is only the interstate in Germany.
In the UK, the interstate is the Motorway.
In France, it's the Autoroute.
I appreciate the clarification. I did not know that.
Love the content (:
I enjoy bringing the content to you. TFW, Evan.
Ah, there it is, I always put the cheese sauce in the ravioli, that was PEAK MRE cuisine.
Yes! TFW
I dont think the Field Ration Heaters stay hot long enough to completely heat up the pouch all the way through. I have had that issue before as well.
Live heat source/fire is definitely the best way to enjoy this meal. TFW
thanks brudda
Put the cheese in with the main dish to heat up also the bread and muffin.
Lol ace man that didn't even look good till you heated it .all the ones I have with sauce looks the same ...
Isn't that the truth. A little water and some heat made all the difference. TFW, Tom!
you should put the cheese spread in the heater wen you can next time taste way better promise
Ahhhhhh next episode for England I’m on it! 🤣
Should be finishing up the England stories in the next one......TFW!
Try and put the cheese in the oven. Would it be better heated up?
👍👍
Tks!
🙌
TFW, Michelle!
All good .
Yes, indeed! TFW, John
EVERY time me ancient is putting about 2/3 if not less in the drink😂
Makes things more tasty....tfw
I wonder if you could get a hold of the food the cooks prepared on ship. That might be interesting to see exactly what you ate out on sea
That's a great idea!
If it were me I would of put the cheese sauce in the heating bag with it, then take the cheese and try mixing it with the meat sauce.
Good idea, but as mentioned, the heater didn't work very well. I liked heating it up in the sauce pan like I did. That made the whole meal WAY MORE BETTER! TFW
I’m allergic to all artificial sweeteners. So I was dealt a double blow when I discovered the drink mix had sucralose in it as well.
Lorie, that was tough.....perhaps you were able to trade for something better. TFW
Eat well
Believe me, I do. TFW!
I have the same one ...as Italian born I'm scared to try it but I guess is gonna be a civilian canned ravioli
Definitely plan on heating it up using legitimate fire source for best chance of good experience. Also, some water added to the sauce is a must in my opinion. TFW
@@MeAncient good choice! 👍
Probably a chef boyardee canned base with far less sauce.
Put the M.R.E cheese paste in F.R.H?? Just a thought,I seen others MRE reviews.Do that they’re cheese. Ok
Good idea. TFW
I can't stop watching your videos. I ordered me one just for shits and you know what
What, Mike? TFW, by the way.....
Could you try an HDR?
Sorry, not familiar with HDR.......
@@MeAncient Humanitarian Daily Ration.
FRH never gets the food hot enough I think.
That's been my experience. TFW
The whole "trans fat" thing is one of the most misunderstood things in all of nutrition. Trans fats started in the 1970's with margarine. They use a chemical process to add hydrogen to unsaturated fats, called hydrogenation, like on vegetable oils. This made the fats saturated. Saturated fats are higher in calories and harder to burn off since they contain more hydrogen bonds. They used to market these hydrogenated fats as unsaturated on the nutrition facts. People believed that this was better for them, but it's the same as saturated fats. Margarine became extremely popular in the 1980's as "healthy butter". But in reality it is the same thing as butter in terms of health and nutrition. Trans fats have no specific health concerns over normal saturated fats. So since then products in the US that use this method must be labeled as "trans fats" and not unsaturated fats. Because of this, there is no reason anymore not to just use saturated fats in products since it is cheaper to do so. The whole thing is nonsense. Like how in the 1980's certain manufacturers used to make candy bars smaller and market them as "lower calorie". People fell for it and bought them for a higher price even though they contain the exact same ingredients. The bars were "low calorie" because they were smaller! Well duh! That kind of labeling is illegal in the US now. Although deceptive, it is not a serious health concern. Most people are dumb and can be very easily manipulated. Gluten free diets are another example. The amount of people on gluten free diets is incredible, just because they think gluten is this horrible unhealthy thing that should be cut out. Unless you have a specific autoimmune disease, such as celiac, there is absolutely no reason to cut gluten out of your diet. it is completely harmless to people who are not sensitive to it and actually makes you feel fuller for longer. Do your research and read labels. That's the smart thing to do.
You can actually live without callories. Thats what the keto diet is about if i recall :edit- actually i think im confusing callories for carbs
Idk if it's just me but all the jump cuts are kinda distracting. I think it'd be better to let the video run and just add in time stamps in the discription or in a comment to jump ahead instead.
You are correct. I didn't realize it until post production. That's why I switched chairs in the next video. TFW
@@MeAncient all good man, love the videos and the stories. Keep it up!
You cant not watch this if youve ever been military. This is where its at!!!
You are too kind, Nicole! TFW
What kind of study Bible is on the shelf?
Stick everything back in box. Heater and all………. Don’t forget cheese
Very difficult to fit. I'll try it next time. TFW and Tks for the tip.
it was a liquid but pasta sucks the liquid up.
That's what my wife told me. It was good to add the water....made quite a bit of difference. TFW
@@MeAncient yes sir. pasta always get dry.
Maybe it's a MRE for the so-called Fatboy diet as my brother used to put it?
I know you're not a Dago but that's a frying pan.
Jesus LOVES YOU ALL❤️❤️❤️
Most MRE reviewers boil the package of food in water.
Great idea.
I really feel bad for you guys: every mre need 2 breads, bigger entrees, more pnut butter cheese speads & real sugar.. Oh, & pour water into the ravioli pouch to loosen up the sauce, right? And more coffees
The water sure made a lot of (good) difference in the meal along with the heat. Hopefully you saw that at the end. TFW!
All do respect but you havnt seen action.
Thank the obummer admin to make things all healthy and not tasty. Cracks ol lady mic-hell bummer
If I understand correctly, the schools have already jettisoned the 'correct' meals and cafeteria set ups. TFW, Jacob.
The ravioli isnt the greatest in my opinion. Always had a metallic taste an was bitter and bland
His white privilege came out
Uhhh, what?
That maple cake and m&ms with coffee might be worth the whole meal. Especially if you have night/morning shifts.
Exactly! TFW
Add salt to ration heater before pouring water in it, it reacts hotter and heats more foods and hotter then just water!
"I should clean that out. Nah, it'll be alright!" Spoken like a true GI! 😎
I love listening to your service stories.
Hi Looks cool
This guy I work with at a Lowe’s in Maryland has MRE’s and he’s going to bring me some
You'll have to tell me what he gets to you. They can be good. TFW
4:11....Ahhh It'll be all right.....💪💪
TFW, Stacy!
Add cheese to the other side of the heater. Semper Fi brother

You should explain to Ace that to wipe your mouth with the sleeve of your shirt and to wipe your a$$ sphinctor with the sleeve of your shirt are TWO DIFFERENT THINGS. 😂 The cameraman requires Charlie Shean. What war movie is that, Ace?❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Great show gunny! How does a Marine get to go to Europe? I was iin the south Pacific 1987-1991? I was First Marines 2 Battlian. Then traded to the 3rd Marines 3rd Battlian. I was 0317. Forced Recon Sniper. You were in Beirut 1983? Then Europe. WOW. Oh I was on the USS TARAWA for a few months? SEMFER FI MARINE! I never ate MREs I ate Asian food while in Asia! VIETNAMESE, THAI AND CHINESE FOOD! LOL.
Most of the meals are slightly better when they are hot not jus warm. We have that luxury at home but depending on operational tempo most MREs I've eaten over the years were cold or slightly warmed.
it looks like you combined the main of a breakfast mre with the regular mre
i would set my camera man up for a prank, let him keep snatching m&m's, set that mouth on fire
That is odd about the sugar, real sugar isn't exactly rare so who knows.
Noti gang... I like this ace vids.spin-off
At my desk and not a M&M in sight. LOL
That bread looked like hard tack from the civil war. Glad it tasted better. Merry Christmas to everyone !
Merry Christmas to you, too, Jeff! TFW
All the mre videos I've watched veterans say anything tomato pasta is no good, like the worst...other then vegetarian mre
Only if you can add water and lots of heat....then the meal turn pretty darned good. TFW
