    I'm Jake and ever since I was a tiny kid I have been OBSESSED with fishing. The Goal of this channel is to take you along on my fishing adventures both good and bad and inspire you to "GET OUT AND LIVE ", Which is what the G-O-A-L Fishing stands for. Being outdoors and pursuing fish, however that looks, has always been fulfilling and life giving to me and I hope to share a little of that with you.

    We should go fish in my boat sometime and I’ll also fix your kayak up a bit. Be cool with lever for throttle between legs. Bicycle cables to round plate or wheel attached to handle of troll motor to give leverage for handle. Bet you could buy a cool cheap drift brake handle and cut down or something.

      Hey Kevin! May I suggest buying a used one first? I've heard and tend to agree our 2nd yak is the one we shoulda got first. If I had any regret, that would be it. It might save ya some change and regrets. I'd rather learn at a lesser cost...ya know ?

      @@michaeltichonuk2176 and Kevin Mengus I agree. I like my kayak but I have seen others that I like more that cost less and have way more features. Look around and do some shopping before you pull the trigger. It is super nice to have though you’ll enjoy having one.

      That’s the plan I’m looking and watching a lot of videos and plan on going to stores soon to see these yaks in person. Thank you for the great advise I’m truly appreciate it.

    Ya like that stern mount, eh?? I knew ya would! I have a PWM with a hard wired remote speed/direction rotory switch mounted on top on my center console. Super easy and the PWM extends my battery use at least by 2 if not closer to three times before needing recharge. (Pulse Width Modulator). Fortunately my yak had rudder peddle controls so it was easy to connect to t/m.
    Jake, I couldn't stop grin'n Bro, you having such a Blast!! I'm still kicking myself for not bringing my yak out last year...
    Surface looked like glass! Az tourist pic for sure! Wow! Stunning scenery, great catching and Outstanding Presentation, Jake!!

      michael tichonuck I do love it. The pwm is next on the list. It will make it a whole lot easier. And thanks for the kind compliments. I love it when others enjoy the content.

      The pwm helps so much I run a 35ah battery. Bigger lakes it last from sun up to noon. Smaller lakes on the rim it last all day trolling for trout. I was going to put a clip on the box for my life vest but I ended up mounting it to the kayak as well. Remember you can also advance the timing on the trolling motor to get a little bit more rpm.

      @@cuzimnik25 I wasn't aware of that.
      I did observe Jake caught more then the powerboat gentleman. I've seen this repeatedly here in SE. Quiet and limit ...exposure?? produces more catches. I've lost a bite when powerboats roll up on me in my yak. See em scatter on my graph. Just my own experience... certainly not saying I wouldn't want a good powerboat to access more waters. But I'm just guy with a fishing plan and budget. And having a Blast!

      AshtonB04 I will definitely do more at the lower salt river. It is one of my favorite places. I have a bunch of episodes there that you can check out on the channel.

    Glad you are having fun! I remember how fun it was figuring all this out. I'm a cheap bastard so I did alot of the same. If it helps I used masonry string inside sprinkler drip line for my steering. The drip line flares at the end with some heat to keep it from going in the hull. I just replaced the string after 2 years and have a huge roll still. Also a big lots cutting board rudder helps steer with no power. So like setting up to beach with power off. Waiting for the next video.

    • @GOALFishing
      @GOALFishing  3 года назад

      Nik Dombrowsk how did you set up the cutting board as a rudder?

    • @cuzimnik25
      @cuzimnik25 3 года назад

      For the small boards just cut it in half and make a hole half inch from the edge to hose clamp the bottom to the motor and 3 slots to zip tie to the shaft also about 1/2 inch from the edge of the board. ( the front ones are spaced even up and down and the bottom is centered front to back.) If you look up trolling motor Rudder and copy that shape it helps with turning under power.. Zip ties are a good size also.
